Week 3-4 food suggestions or recipes

I am bad at logging, and now i wish i had. I cannot remember for the life of me what i ate during the puree stage LOLOL.. It was only a year ago and even though i am still at a few bites and done unless it is soup... i cannot recall what i ate in the earlier stages.
  2. Just be really careful.... your stomach is still healing.
  3. The same goes for the Social Media Groups in Facebook. Many that have issues post, those that dont kinda just scroll on by.. Maybe i should make a group of Positive things only so those that need the encouragement can come see all the good stuff that happens all the time!

    Help I need input

go to a doctor and find a bariatric group where you live that will take you on as a patient.
  5. Today is one year from the sleeve. Best decision I ever made... For those of you out there just starting.. do not get discouraged. It may come off slowly, but if you keep on plan and keep on task it will come off.. Keep the faith!

    1 Year Surgervisary

sorry for the delay. I havent been on here. I do have a lot of loose skin. I had a consult in Oct but because i am still losing i have to wait till April go to back and see if they consider the weight stabilized. I have lost 12 since my appt.. so we start counting 6 months over
  7. Keep in Mind, the ER Nurse is ONLY going to see those with issues. Those of us that have had absolutely no issues have not been to the ER.

    insurance tips for plastics

be careful with this. my insurance covers a panni..and breast reduction.. but after my consult with my dr and she showed me what the ins will cover vs what could be done.. i am not going to go through the insurance. the panni only covers the skin below the belly button.. i have a lot more skin than that to be taken care of. and for the breast reduction there needs to be the amount of tissue there to remove. you also have to have medical issues that require the panni and breast reduction with all of the issues documented through the dr.. rashes, infections, in ability to move.. for the breast reduction, soreness. indents in shoulders, cup size has to be larger than a ddd.. marks left on upper abdomen from them constantly rubbing against it.. i used to have all that, but since the weight loss i dont.

    Preventing Loose Skin

i agree, it depends on how much you have to lose. Exercise before hand will help you maintain the exercise you need to do after weight loss surgery. it will help you get a jumpstart.
  19. get the sandwich without the bread or the bread and sauce on the side, and then take a bite or two of the bread.. in essence you will have had the "bad" food in a good way.. I always try to be creative when i want something "bad" i never plan or change my eating habits for it though, just limit and change it up so you have the same great concept but in a manner that is good for you. Just a thought

    Changing Habits Prior to Surgery

start now.. limit the sugars and carbs. this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. i had the sleeve so i am not sure with the RNY but i do hear a lot of ppl saying they experience dumping when eating sugar and stuff. if you train your mind now it will be much easier after surgery. my biggest thing i had to learn was to eat slowly so i didnt bring the food back up.. even now almost a year out, if i eat too fast i can only get in 3 bites or so. i have to mix veggies in with food because it seems i never get past the protein to get to the veggies. be creative on how you want to eat and start practicing. the rule of thumb is it takes 3 weeks to make a habit and 3 days to break one. start early and often until it becomes "muscle memory" as they say in my dance class. it will become a natural habit. start giving up things like soda and such that you know you cant have after surgery, it will become much easier and be a non issue when the time comes.
  21. i did some additional digging, and asked 2 co workers for assistance in research.. Dr Mast specializes in breast reconstruction where as Dr Cheng specializes in all the contouring. I have decided to go with Dr. Cheng for the arm, thigh and tummy tuck. While i want the breast lift done, it is least of my priorities. I will decide down the road, and if i end up doing it, it will probably be Dr. Mast since that is his specialty unless Dr. Cheng and i come up with a different plan. there are 2 other reasons.. Dr Cheng is local, and part of the hospital where i attend support group meetings but did not have the surgery. According to the folks at the support group, if anything is done via their hospital then that automatically makes me part of their bariatric program instead of having to pay a 300 fee to get in, just to get further follow ups if needed. I do not foresee needing them as i will be a year out in 9 days and have not had any issues (knock on wood). but if the need arises, choosing Dr Cheng also provides me that benefit of seeing their bariatric drs, without having to foot an extra cost.
  22. I am considering Dr. Mast for my plastics. I had my initial consult and was happy, but then i went for a second consult with Dr. Cheng in Davenport. Both have similiar pricing except for the Breast Lifts. Dr. Cheng wants to put in a small implant and Dr. Mast says it can be done with the tissue that is there. This alone has me torn on which dr to go to. I have checked reviews for Dr. Mast and the only thing i can find gripes about are his bedside manner not his actual work. I like Cheng also she was very thorough in her explanations and what she can do for me, where Dr. Mast did not do the details details. Anybody use either doctor and have any feedback for me?
