Hopefully next year you wont want to eat all the sweets and stuff you see during the holidays. I know I sure wont! -

You can still enjoy the holidays with your family. It isn't all about food. At Thanksgiving I was on pure liquids. Instead of drinking my shake from the ready made carton, I poured it into a glass and had a great time with all of the folks around me. For Christmas I am on full menu and my children are totally ok with preparing the foods without the sugars and such.. but my main point is.. I bought Almond Milk Egg Nog.. and mixed 4 ounces with 4 ounces of water, and then my whey protein.. to make my protein shake.. YEP! I will do it again tomorrow because to me.. I am drinking egg nog at Christmas and that is the #1 Tradition we have.. and I can participate. YOU can find a way.. remember YOU are in control of what you can do.. and how your holiday turns out! Don't make it about food, but about family.. even if there are a few things food related you can make it work. I am 100% sure you can make the same EggNog Protein Shake!!! Be creative and set your minds to making it positive and fun! -
My surgery journey is beginning

Congratulations! Good Luck and Safe Journey! -
you look amazing! I am looking forward to something similar. I have a family reunion in June 2019 and none of my family up north is aware that I had the surgery. The only people I told were my children that are adults that live here in Florida. My parents passed years ago, and all my family, cousins, sisters..etc in CT have no idea. I cant wait for them to be blown away when I show up there next summer.

soups that are not blended at this point make me sick. I have tried chicken noodle and no go.. I didn't eat the noodles, but the mixture of solids and liquid makes it want to come back up.

Walk walk walk. Take your time and rest a lot.. the first week your body will feel like it was hit by a truck.. you will be slow moving, but the more you walk the quicker you will heal. SIP SIP SIP even if you are not thirsty. It takes all day to get 64 ounces of water in. literally. I know that seems impossible now, but if you constantly sip then you can do it. As you progress through the food stages.. its even harder, so set timers, schedules.. plan...(im not one to talk i been drinking this cup of coffee for an hour LOL) I am behind already today. You will be going all day drinking. Its a constant planning your food. Dont be alarmed, your sense of smell triples LOL you can and do smell everything! Switch up your protein..get a couple different types so you dont get bored with the same thing over and over. If you are a coffee drinker. use protein for your creamer.. does wonders! Good Luck! See you on the losers bench!

Hard to focus on positive
Jazzy1125 replied to pinksparkle1965's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like the ladies said. Keep walking. The gas pains go away completely by 2 weeks. I think mine was a little over a week. I do not recall now. Focus on what you and walking, and drinking your liquids and you will get to being healed faster. -
Having surgery on 28th of December
Jazzy1125 replied to AngelaJulia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had the sleeve, and i was in hospital for 2 days. dr. protocal. I had surgery on Thursday AM and went to work on Monday.. but i had no issues since waking up from surgery. Everybody is different. Also your job requirements could be different than mine which may have you out longer depending if you are on your feet, if you have to lift stuff. I have a desk job and was fine to go back to work. -
Please help me, I have terrible regret RNY

Think about this.. in all aspects of life.. the only people you see say something for the most part, are those that have issues. Whether it be with surgery, restaurant experiences, shopping online issues.. customer service issues, any issues.. 10 bad to 1 good as the good have no reason to complain, they rarely will say anything.. There is a lot of good out there. This is your journey, not those of others. I saw a post on fb the other day where somebody said.. i have had no issues, am i the only one.. It was nice to see over 100 comments of the same thing. I for one have had no issues, yes i had the sleeve, but still no issues. No pain issues since awakening in the hospital, no food issues (besides the occasional eating too fast). no water intake issues.. so there is good out there.. Stop reading what everybody else is going through and focus on what you can do for you. There is so much information on the boards of what happens to others, but that is others, and doesn't necessarily mean you. What you can do with the information is be prepared in case something does happen to you and you will be armed with how to tolerate or handle it which will then make your transition a lot easier. Good Luck and feel better! -
Prayers coming your way! I hope you feel better!

Give your body time to heal first! Emotions run on high immediately following surgery. Good Luck on your journey. -
Hey All, I am actually looking for a workout buddy in the Orlando Area. I just moved back here a little over a year ago, and most of the people I know are through work.. even though i know some folks i worked with a long time ago before i moved out of state. Anyways.. I am looking for somebody that wants to be accountability buddies at the gym.. I am right now trying to decide which gym i want to join in Jan, but join i will LOL.. Right now i do ballroom dance classes a few nights a week near Universal, but am also wanting to do the gym on nights i am not at the dance studio so i can make sure i keep my exercise routine going. I just HATE going to the gym by myself. LOL.. I dont know the reason why.. i just do.. so if any of you out here are in the Orlando area and are looking to have a gym buddy... please let me know.. I need to get my butt in gear and quick! lol. Thanks

Too funny Mouse.. Although. I went to panda express today to get plain chicken teriyaki without any of the sauce.. LOL Seriously after 2 bites I could not eat it! I was driving home and called them and said what did you give me SPICY chicken teriyaki? I had explained to the manager that i had surgery and could not eat the food and could not drink because i had eaten and my mouth was on fire.. LOL.. She laughed.. not at me but said.. maam your taste buds are changing.. we have always had pepper in our chicken teriyaki but most people dont notice.. LOL she must have had surgery herself.. how else would she know about taste buds changing.. She said LOL i would freak too HAHAHA.. She totally refunded my chicken and said not to worry about it.
