What is the best time?- May be TMI
Jazzy1125 replied to Jazzy1125's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks Fluffy! I think my issue is being that i am not even 3 mo post op yet. I NEVER get past the protein at each meal! I am lucky if on occasion.. once a week or so.. I make something that has cauli rice and ground meat.. and that is the only way i get anything besides protein in.. Hopefully i can start eating more ( eating as we speak and i am finishing Half a chicken burger that i started yesterday.. and i have the hiccups already and i still have 1/4 patty to go LOL) Thanks for the tips.. I am hoping something gives soon.. On a good Note.. when i go.. I drop weight instantly! LOL -
Emotions can get the best of you for no reason! Try not to focus too much on the negative and reel in the positive in every situation so it helps keep your emotions in check. I know the feeling, I cried at work yesterday because somebody said something that was incorrect situationally. I like broke down and thought they were trying to get me in trouble, and maybe they were but my boss was like.. stop crying LOL.. this is not a big deal and if they dont like xyz oh well! LOL.. and today, i went to help somebody.. and i couldnt because her passwords werent working correctly, i asked her to reach out to the IT guy next to her but that girl turned around and said in spanish. which i understand.. I just love the help i get!!! Are you kidding me???? So i went back and instead of snapping her head.. i did a Mufasa Breath LOL.. then went and asked the IT guy to help her. Why couldnt she just ask him LOL.. Oh well~

BMI Goal: is your BMI goal to be healthy or overweight?
Jazzy1125 replied to jultrim18's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too want to be in the middle of my healthy zone. No matter how long it takes! I am hoping i get darn close to it by the time i have the ballroom competition in september! -
Are you on anything else for it? I take doculax and Metamucil.. with the occasional nightcap of Miralax. I called my Dr. yesterday. He had me do an enema last night and starting today Ducolax daily until it kicks in my intestines again. However... I dont know if i should do it in the morning or evening LOL.. Any thoughts?

Looking for Protein Shake for Sensitive Stomach
Jazzy1125 replied to Wanda247's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope you find something you can drink. This is really tough as it is, nevermind adding in outside restrictions. I am fortunate enough to not need to but i feel your pain. I hope you find something soon so you can get all your protein in. -
Thank you for sharing!

Just letting my non-surgery related frustration out
Jazzy1125 replied to FancyChristine15's topic in Rants & Raves
I agree, you did the right thing. The worst thing on earth is to get conflicting directions from those who are in charge and those who think they are in charge. It happens all too often. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. -
I did not, but welcome to the site!

Are you on anything else for it? I take doculax and Metamucil.. with the occasional nightcap of Miralax. not on anything for it. Normally when i cant go i have to take something, smooth move doesnt work.. colace doesnt work. Swift Kriss works and suppositories work but i dont want to take it all the time.

Jazzy1125 replied to VSG and me's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Be careful. My doctor did not release me for excercise for 6 weeks post op. and that was dancing. He said only walking for the first 6 weeks. -
My gripe today is not being able to go to the bathroom. I started taking a probiotic yesterday so i hope it kicks in soon. I am over this constipation stuff.. It is driving me crazy!

Try decaf. I have been drinking it since September and I do not miss it. I even make my iced coffees with decaf. -
Ghrelin is back (and mad at me)
Jazzy1125 replied to KCgirl061's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try crocheting or Sudoku. Those things can keep you busy for a while and you can stay warm. Drink some hot decaf with some protein shake in it and you will be satisfied and busy! -

That may be head hunger you are dealing with.. Try doing some activities instead of staying at home so you are not tempted by the kitchen. -
Does anybody know of any good cookbooks out there for Bariatric Eating that already have the Nutritional info and Macros listed in the recipe. My biggest downfall is tracking. If it were just food items, it would not be as bad as creating recipes to find info needed to track.
-
Have you tried tracking what you eat to see where your slips may be? I find there are always hidden calories. I dont even like eating out anymore.

Apple Cider Vinegar Discussion
Jazzy1125 replied to keylady42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good Luck on your journey! I was going to add some advice but from what i have read here, the other posts have it covered!! Great Job to all!! I am the worst at tracking! I track on paper but not to the T.. I eat right, but dont track. I know at the moment it wont get me in trouble but i know for sure it will down the road. Funny part of this all is i HATE creating the recipes of what i cook in order to track what i eat. If it was just logging food in general i would be ok doing it. But its the creating stuff to track that is my issue. I seem to not have time or dont want to be bothered with it UNLESS i am curious which shouldnt be that way. Go Figure.. I do audits and analagies all the time through work as i am an Financial Analyst, but i cant create recipes to analyze LOL -
Sleeve post op advised no supplements needed
Jazzy1125 replied to BrighterSide's topic in Food and Nutrition
My surgeon did not start multivitamin until 4 weeks, and calcium and iron was not started until 6 weeks. I trust my team as well and did exactly what they asked of me. It could be due to extreme swelling of the stomach the first month. You can barely get liquids down, never mind a supplement. -
I hope you feel better soon! I would try getting chewables, or crush them and put them in something you can eat and hide the taste.

Self-pay in Maryland?
Jazzy1125 replied to Ready4Change21050's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am not in Maryland but I did self pay in Florida. I did not have insurance at the time i decided to get this done. I do have insurance now, and they actually cover all my vitamins and b12 100%. Hopefully I wont have any complications that require something else. For me, I decided to get a credit card with 0% interest for 18 months and that was the end of that. I put the whole surgery on the credit card, and now i pay it off weekly, monthly.. My goal is to have it paid off before the year is up. -
Horrible pain and discomfort
Jazzy1125 replied to NIKKIBEVERLY's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The food got stuck! It happens to me when i do not chew well enough. I am sticking to softer foods until i can learn to chew to the point of paste.
