    Dr David N Dyer

So you are limited to less than 500 calories per day until you hit goal? I may have read that incorrectly,

    Edu. Yourself!!

I like to listen to some of his videos but will always listen to my team in the end. although he has some really good points.
  4. As the days go on, it will get easier! As it gets easier you will be able to have other foods to as time passes.
  5. do not take much. Everything i took stayed in the bag until I left. You will be tired and only want to sleep. I actually used my pajamas and my cell charger. That was it.. they give you socks for your feet so you dont fall.. and any meds you need, they will have for you.

    Liquid diet

Google Vertigo head exercises and do those a few times a day. They will help alot.

    Getting cold feet, normal?

Just remember why you want it in the first place. Start making changes now if possible because later you will not have a choice, The more weight you can take off now, the more of a head start you will have later. I know we want to eat everything under the sun because we feel like we will never be able to eat that stuff again, but that is simply not true. Yes your taste buds will change and there will be some foods you cannot tolerate, but you can actually eat those foods in moderation as time goes on. The only true food funeral i had was post surgery when i realized after 3 tries my stomach could not tolerate chicken anymore.. Hopefully that changes as i am still new to the Bariatric world! I was literally almost in tears lol because i couldnt eat chicken! We are going to try one more time today.. but a ground form in my enchiladas i am making.. if today doesnt work.. then i will give up trying for a while.
  9. That is too funny. Congratulations!

100 lbs in under a year?

Exactly! I am in the same boat. I look at this tool as a way to stay on track and not get off track because you now have a restriction that will keep you where you are supposed to be,

    Post Op Bra Size

i am hoping my start shrinking soon. All i hear now is your boobs are not really noticeable! They havent gone down at all. My band size has gone down, but that is about it. I measured my chest this morning as there were some new bras on sale, and yep my band size went from a 48 to a 42 but the cup size has not moved! LOL and i am almost down 70 pounds! I will wait a few more months and see if they start getting smaller.
  12. i hope everything goes well and you are still accepted! Keep us posted!

    Smooth Sailing for Anyone?

my doctor is also 3 hours away, but i found a local support group at the hospital here. YOu will be surprised at how welcoming they are for patients that had their surgery elsewhere. Check around your local area for a support group there at one of the hospitals and see if you can join the post op support group.

    Smooth Sailing for Anyone?

the best thing i can recommend is read the threads, get as much information as possible and be prepared for whatever comes your way.. that way you will know how to deal with it if something does happen, and it will make the transition a lot easier. I went in fully aware of what may happen, i also went in full of faith and knew in my heart i was doing the right thing. I approached the surgery as just another task that needed to be completed, we are all different but i truly believe that if you go in uneducated that you will come out on the other side not knowing how to handle some things.

    Smooth Sailing for Anyone?

I was sleeved on 11/8 and have had zero complications. (knock on wood). The only thing I am dealing with is constipation, but am now taking ducolax per my surgeon and so far this week it has been much better. Other than that. Nothing. I woke up from the anesthesia and not once used the pain meds in the hospital nor after discharge. I was up and walking same day. Had surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. Once I was cleared for exercise right before Christmas, I went back to my ballroom dance classes and am now going to the gym. I will be 3 mo post op on Friday. I have not experienced hair loss as of yet, but am expecting to have to deal with it as I hear it is unevitable, but will see what happens.
  20. give it time. you are fresh out of surgery. I am almost 3 months post op and am just now going to the gym. I went back to my dance classes at Christmas, but only now do I have the energy to do both. Give yourself some healing time before you expect too much out of yourself.
  21. So i have this issue ,..major issue with constipation. I ended up calling my dr yesterday because for over a month i have been going once a week and then its like an act of congress to go.. I am having to use something, sometimes more than one thing to get this crap ( no pun intended) to move along LOL.. Anyways.. my dr yesterday said to take an enema last night( it was still an act of congress) and then to take ducolax every day for a week to stimulate the intestines, then to stop it once my body started to go normally again. My question is: Should i be taking this before bedtime each day or in the morning? Is there a difference, a time better than another! I should just call the Dr. back, but sometimes i feel like the office gets annoyed when i call LOL.

How do these watermelon taste? I have the café mocha!
  25. I do not snack between meals. I stick to the 3 meals a day and one protein shake somewhere between work and the gym.
