    Yup. I regret this.

Yes, they were just checked last month and this past Friday. All my electrolytes/vitamins are normal. It's just my BP that is plummeting.

    Yup. I regret this.

I am just so sad. I have done everything to the letter. My protein is great, my hydration is great, my food choices are great. I do yoga 3 times a week now. I start my trainer tomorrow. I walk a mile a day, minimum. And nothing. Nothing for 8 weeks. And now this BP issue. My resolve is seriously disappearing. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Yup. I regret this.

Bypass is reversible and I am deeply considering discussing this option at my 6 month. I don't care if I regain the weight. I haven't even lost that much and still have all my clothes so whatever. I just want to be able to function again and not feel this way. I've been so proud that I've championed this new diet and have been rocking exercise and just hired a trainer, and yet have not lost anything in 2 months. And have just had more and more complications. As soon as one resolves, another appears. I am beat down. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone else experience this?

orthostatic hypotension. was told to drink more and add salt to everything I can. but I blacked out at Walmart this weekend so I am demanding a prescription to fix this. I drink a ton. unacceptable bs. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I am obsessed with cottage cheese now. I liked it before, but never bought it or went out of my way to get it... now I eat a half cup to a cup daily. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I can't have whey concentrate OR whey isolates. I am looking for GOOD tasting plant-based shakes. My dietitian says it has to be under 200 calories, 10g carbs or less and 3g of fat or less, so I am really struggling to find ones that meet the criteria with ONE exception of Planted by Unjury which is super gross! That is the only one she knew of to recommend. I tried egg protein, too, and it may be worse than the Unjury. What are some decent soy, pea, or rice protein shakes that aren't high in carbs?? I found AdvantEdge... but is there anything else to compliment it? For reals stressing over this, lol.
  10. Mini-rant. I have to drink this for the next 15 days and it tastes like fish and cardboard! Oh my goooooosshhhhhh. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Hola! The majority of everyone knows I am tackling a marginal ulcer. It was pretty much healed up, but they I mysteriously started getting severe nausea last Tuesday - present. I've had a bit of nausea since surgery.... but now it is SO much worse. Gets way worse by 3 or 4pm through bedtime. I've been on Zofran, Phenergan, and Reglan, all of which didn't help (the Reglan may have, but it made me fall asleep instantly, lol). I also take some aloe juice because why not, I guess. The emergency room gave me a script for Compazine. I took some last night along with a 40mg Pepcid and it worked. FINALLY. Compazine is for severe nausea AND an antipsychotic. Has anyone taken this long-term? I am already on an SSRI and Compazine affects dopamine, so I don't think it'll interact. I am just happy something helped, really. The dry-heaving has re-irritated the ulcer, which was *almost* healed. I gotta be on something to stop this. They thought the nausea was since I (now) haven't gone #2 in 13 days, but a CT Scan revealed I had NO stool in me at all. No leaks or anything, either! Nothing going on in any of my organs, including the pouch. Labs all perfecto. I'm thinking it's just bad stomach acid in the evenings. No one has an answer... saw the ER doc and they consulted the bariatric surgeons on-call. Full of mysteries! Is there a question in all of this? I dunno. LOL.

    Food Before and After Photos

Ordered a falafel and lamb shawarma salad. Yes, I know I shouldn't have had the falafel because it was technically fried, but the carbs weren't terrible. I only have this pic because I literally only managed two pieces of lamb and one ball of falafel so it basically looked the same. LOL. Leftovers for a week. Orthostatic Hypotension

I did go to yoga this morning and got lightheaded a few times, but fortunately it is "flowy" so my body has time to adjust so it isn't severe. And I just stop for a moment if it gets bad. I start with the trainer Monday so def something to discuss. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Orthostatic Hypotension

I was at 400 calories a day but recently, in the past 3 weeks, have been moved up to the 600-700s. My carbs have gone from the 20s to upper 30s. I'll be adding in a piece of fruit so I'll probably be around 800. I've been I a huge calorie deficit. Been meeting my protein, though. In the 80s typically, daily. Dietitian gets my food logs often and is very happy with my intake... just, nothing is happening. I did Atkins last year and lost the exact same amount of weight and stalled at the exact same weight (I ended up giving up and pigging out and regaining). I tried adding in a bunch of salt to some Gatorade today but it tasted like the ocean, lmao. I don't really know how much I should add. I just find it bizarre that this is beginning now when it's been nearly two months since I've lost weight. I lost 68lbs in the first 2 months and nothing since. Figured my body would have gotten dizzy while I was losing weight... not so long during a stall. Anyways it sucks and I get dizzy sitting sometimes, too. My head just starts to feel like there's a lot of pressure, like I am holding my breath. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Orthostatic Hypotension

Yeah my normal BP has always been in the low 100s over the low 70s. Now it's in the 80s over the 40s. My braaaiiinn. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Orthostatic Hypotension

I am trying to stay positive... I just feel very beat down over the last 4 months for little "reward". I feel much less healthy than I did before. Sure, I'm a pants size down but whatever. I've missed over a month from work due to complications, and as soon as one resolves something new happens. It's just so discouraging. You never hear about the bad things that happen to people, only the positive things. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Orthostatic Hypotension

I did not have hypertension and was on no medications for any comorbidities. I've always had great BP. I feel like I drink a ton during the day now. My electrolytes were normal, which is weird. I'm going to add salt to food now and see what happens... I REALLY hope this goes away because I just started yoga again, which I've been waiting to do for so long, and I feel very dizzy. 21. My surgeon's office has two nutritionists. Except mine has been out on maternity leave since my surgery so I have not seen a nutritionist at all since then. They decided that the priority was on pre-op patients. The program was I would see one 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 12 months out to make sure I know WTF I am doing, but they cancelled ALL post-op patient appointments so this one girl can get through all the pre-ops. Well I haven't lost weight in 4 weeks now and after plenty of badgering I FINALLY scored an appointment for next Wednesday. JEEBUS. I get the point that they want to get new patients through, but it is equally as important to ensure your post-ops aren't effing up! She's responded to my messages, but has never been able to actually look at what I am eating over any length of time or see any food logs or really go into depth (since it's all via messaging). I am friggin' thankful I finally get to see a dietitian. I mean I've been following the book as best I've been able to given complications, etc, but I really, really need that one-on-one guidance and support. I'm basically just winging it, it feels like. I am really disappointed in my office for not bringing someone else on temporarily or giving referrals or SOMETHING. I'm going to bring all this up next week. Not trying to keep taking advice from internet randos - would really like to see an RD! I know my other post says I lost 5lbs in January, but that is all back. What the heck.

    Orthostatic Hypotension

I drink one daily. My electrolytes are fine. Even my sodium was in the normal range, although on the low end. I am scared this is permanent. I had NO health problems before surgery and now I've had so many. I think I officially regret this choice. I start with my trainer next week and I am nervous I will be very dizzy doing intense exercise. I also haven't lost any weight in 7 weeks now, despite the high ketone levels and the surgeon can't figure out why. I hate this. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. My insurance requires 18 months before they pay for a tummy tuck (which I don't even think I'll need). The only thing I desperately want is an arm lift. I was thinking at 12 months? My surgeon said the weight loss will pretty much cease at 12 months (unless I do more via personal training, etc). How long did you wait before having self-pay cosmetics? How long of a "stable weight period" did you give yourself?
  24. Can someone explain how someone who has the sleeve can get revised to RNY? Don't they completely remove the part of the stomach RNYers still have? Do they make your stomach even TINIER somehow and connect your bile ducts to the new stomach? How big is the new RNY pouch after you've already had a sleeve? Yes I googled for images of this and couldn't find anything. Just curious!
  25. I am curious as to how many members on here have been obese since childhood, just since adulthood, or just for the past handful of years. How do you think that has shaped your expectations of surgery and your body image? I have only been obese for about 8 years. In my FB group, a lot of the women struggle with getting down to a smaller size because they aren't used to the compliments or they feel uncomfortable. I was "warned" prior to surgery that my brain won't catch up to my body size for a while. I have the opposite issue. I MISS the attention from men. My brain still sees me as skinny, so when I walk past a mirror I am shocked at my large size. I think that has played a huge role in my disappointment in the surgery and my unrealistic expectation that I should lose 50lbs a month. LOL. I am SO ready to be the me I know and miss, and losing "just" 70lbs isn't as big of an accomplishment as others may see it as. I will be proud when I accomplish that final plateau and settle into a size that my brain recognizes. I know this is a very different perspective than those that have been heavy since childhood, for example. Would love to have a dialogue about these differences and expectations.
