No pizza for 4-5 months???
mousecat88 replied to pdamoci's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My local place has broccoli crust pizza I get on occasion (the one I like is pretty pricey) . I ate some Dominos flatbread pizza for the first time a few days ago. It was good, but I realized it was pointless and I don't *need* it. Since I realized I could eat bread again, I went a little crazy for a few weeks, but I have restarted my strict bariatric-friendly diet and I am already back down 2lbs (I had gained 4lbs). I gave all my breads and crackers to my stepdad and leftover pizza to my friend. -
Surgery Day! and beyond: Part 2

I did 100 crunches (50 basic, 50 bicycle) yesterday at the gym before yoga. Took me longer than would be typical, and I did less, of course... but no problems today. No soreness. When I got out of surgery, my stomach was as hard and flat as a rock - no swelling or pockets of fluid. The skin is a little more lax now, but it's still flat. -

Did yoga today. Really helped stretch out that scar tissue. Here is a bunch of pics of what my arms look like exactly 7 weeks post op today. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app -

If you're nervous about deodorant, try using a natural one without aluminum. That was what my surgeon suggested in the very beginning, but natural deodorants just don't seem to work for me personally. Can you wear a sports bra? Some cheapo one without any real stitching or compression from Walmart or something. -

I never had any swelling at all. Or raised incisions. I barely had anything come out of my drains, either. I had a blessed surgery. LOL. -

Yes, I put Calendula ointment on them twice daily. They flattened out VERY quickly. I have been using Calendula as soon as the SteriStrips started peeling off. My incisions only go halfway down my armpit. I shaved the part I could. Now that the incisions are healed (at about 3 weeks out), I felt comfortable running the razor over it. No issue. -

Just had my 7 week followup. One more week of compression garments and then he said I can burn them. LOL. I have my final followup in June. During which time I am consulting for breast implants, a butt lift, and inner thigh skin excision for October. HOLLLLAAA. Also cleared for ab exercises! Let the buffness commence. -

If you think your body fat percentage went up and your muscle mass went down, why would you want to decrease your exercise? -
to implant or not to implant

I know my friend said with saline there is the chance for rippling, as well. I'll do a consult on it... I'm not sure my comfort level is quite there yet. And yes, my ex is banned from the boobies for sure. lmao. -

My tummy scar looks about the same. A little darker in the center right above my pubic area... but I was told that area has a tendency to pull the most. Meh. I am happy with it! Going to keep up with the Calendula and basic moisturizing. No expensive scar creams or anything. -
This happens to me and I was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension post-op. If you have a BP cuff, check your BP when this is happening and also while sitting and then 1 minute after standing up.

lol my surgeon just yanked them all off and was like "they're really hanging onto you!" by the end of a few showers, most weren't even covering the incisions and were just hanging there. which is when i filled in the spots with calendula. my incision lines are super thin and i don't think they will be visible at all in a few months, honestly. i'm super happy with my surgeon and i'm excited for this october's next phase. -

this is the extent of my scarring on my arms. looks lighter actually, but I'm in a dark office right now. lol. that line underneath is just from the seam of my compression garment. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I was told to moisturize to prevent scabbing and aid in the prevention of scar formation. I didn't have any scabs at all. The Steristrips came off quickly on my abdomen, but a little slower on my arms. As they got wet and peeled I yoinked them off. -

Yes, I had steri-strips. They stayed on for about 2 weeks and slowly I pulled them off as they were peeling off. So, like as the strips came off, I was to fill in the gaps with moisturizing agents. -
Does anybody know how long rny patients have to take Opmeprizole?
mousecat88 replied to Slimming Down Steve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had to take it for 3 months. But I had an ulcer form anyways 1 week post op so I was on it several months. Now I have recurring acid reflux again for some unknown reason and I'm back on it. And the Omeprazole is to help prevent ulcers in the beginning. Which it obv didn't help for me. lol. -

Coloring your hair would probably be 3rd or 4th week. The incisions/scar tissue gets tight and you have to keep stretching it and massaging it out. Holding your arms above your head that long would probably be uncomfortable. I do a few overhead tricep extensions and lat pulls at the gym and it does feel tight and I am 7ish weeks post-op. But that's a full extension and not bent, which your arms would be while coloring, I presume. -

I was told to keep my incisions moist... at first with Neosporin or Calendula or Aquaphor until 2 weeks post-op... now I use Calendula or Vitamin E oil. I also put Cetaphil lotion on on occasion. -

What Pain Medications Are Prescribed
mousecat88 replied to BecomingAnna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had zero pain from this surgery - not even gas pain. I was prescribed a few days of low-dose Percocet, which I did not take. -
I am distressed to find that I can't seem to find the Lentil Zeroodles anywhere anymore. ;(

I think that weird sensation I had where I touched one spot on my incision I could feel it halfway up my torso FINALLY went away. That was freaky. Hey, this is like the only surgery I've ever has where I didn't have horrible complications. I'll take it! lol. And also my breast reduction. Maybe I am just made for plastic surgery. -

For those that had a TT.... this is weird but have you stuck your finger all the way into your belly button? LOL. I put calendula cream in there still and decided to see how deep he made mine and it is pretty deep! It also felt really weird. O_O -

I drove 3 days after surgery. I was told I could drive as soon as I wasn't taking narcotics and I only took like 2 pills. I was pretty much self-sufficient 2 days post-op. And dancing at a rave for hours 2 weeks post-op. lol. I started spin class and light weight lifting 4 weeks post-op.
