I had a BMI just under 35, but chose to get banded due to diabetes, acid reflux and sleep apnea. I just had surgery on April 21st and have already lost, but have not felt hungry at all until today. In fact could only get down about 1 c. of protein shake at a time. Don't get discouraged, I had a freind who had a low BMI and didn't lose anything for 5 months, but now 1 year later is down to her goal and said she would do it again in a heartbeat.
