Jimmy Keller replied to Chevron's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well from a guys look at it.I want to start going to the gym and do as much as I can as soon as I am givin the ok to do so from my surgeon so protein will be very important .I figure the gym will help a little with extra skin in the long term.Besides Im a carnivore by nature. -

I am self pay so I went in first time to meet surgeon on October 2 and he said we could do surgery in as little as 3 weeks.I chose November 19th and meet with the nutrionist on October 16th.I did great then on the 28th I told myself I had to go to Flanagins and have my last be bad day Oh and did I 20 wings, fircracker shrimp, tumble weed oinion straws, and 2 pitchers of beer.I was disappointed in myself cause it really caused me to stop loosing weight and show a gain on the scale.I was back on track the next day and down 21 pounds .My surgeon says 1 week liquid only but I think Im going to do almost 2.I meet with him this Tuesday for my pre opp so we will see what he says. They say the more you loose before surgery the better chances you wont have any complication and I want everything to run as it should post opp.SO SHOULD EVERONE ELSE ON HERE SO HAVE A LAST BAD DAY OR MEAL THEN MUSTER UP SOME WILL POWER AND DO AS YOUR SURGEON AND NUTRITIONIST SAYS THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME AND KNOW WHATS BEST.good luck to everyone .

Why I eat baked potatoes, brown rice and whole grain bread

I guarantee if anyone that has WLS does not stay dedicated to there weight loss and proper nutrition meaning eating too many starchy carbs or sugar especially before they reach there goes weight they will gain it backI know to many people who have fallen into that trap. -
You don't need WLS just go on a diet!

People who are skinny, healthy, been skinny there whole lives dont get it.When I was 450 lbs 11 years ago I lost 105 lbs with good nutrition and lots of exercise and did in 6 months.I felt like I could take on the world even at 345lbs.I gained it all back plus 45lbs in 11 years cause I allowed my self to go back to bad habbits.I was one who thought people who did WLS were people who were just taking the easy way out.Well after lots of resurch and talking to people I know who have had either sleeve or gastric bypass WLS is not the easy way out and you can and will gain the weight back if you dont change the way you eat and look at food fot the rest of our lives. This is my opinion cause I do not live in fantasy land. This is going to be a lifstyle change and if you do not follow the rules mark my words you will fail.Weather it is a year or five years this is not a quick fix.People reading this and some of you are like me unhealthy and have medical troubes like myself this might possibly be your last chance to save or greatly prolong your life. Please look at WLS as a gift to help yourself and who cares if people know .Anyone who cares about you 100 percent will respect your decision and be supportive and if they dont then you probably dont need them in your life.I wish everyone good luck with their journey . -
