    October 2018 Sleevers

Venting Post: I am having a rough month the scale hasn’t moved... i have been fluctuating 5lbs for a little over a month now and i talked to the nutritionist and she said what i am eating is good i’m around 900-1000 calories a day, at least 90oz of water if not more, i haven’t really had a workout routine yet but i make sure i get in a minimum of 10000 steps a day( just until i can get my work schedule set) Every single day i try to make the healthiest choice!! I plan ahead most of the time but there is always that occasional cheat food i might eat if i am not prepared for the day. I went to see my surgeon for my post op visit and i have lost about 50lbs but he said i should have lost at least another 20lbs by now... So i am really discouraged and I can feel myself slipping into old habits !!!

Ugh, so many questions... I guess we just have to figure it out as we go. Are you going to be on a 2 week liquid diet?

23 days until my surgery day!!! I am getting a little nervous, not so much about the surgery it self but more about the pre liquid diet, and the after. A few questions on my mind. How will my body adjust? How much loose skin will I have? How will I start going to the gym? what kind of workout can I do? do I need a trainer? Does everyone get nausea & gas? (Any tips to help) What was it like to go back to work? Anyone else out there with an October 24-26th 2018 surgery date? - I need a surgery buddy!!🙂
  8. @TexasMommy80 yeah I am the same way. but what about right away following the surgey, my doctor said I would be very fertile and should consider going on some type of bc. He said it wouldn't be very wise to get pregnant for at least 1 & 1/2 years after the surgery date.
  9. Looking for the best birth control option for after vsg surgery.... i know my doctor said i had to wait a few months after the surgery to go back on it but i was on the patch before but it made me very sick i had to stop, anyone have luck with the implanon stick?

My surgery is November 1, so close to yours! Everyone I've talked to has said they had pretty bad gas for like 3-7 days post-surgery. I think loose skin depends on a lot of things... how much weight you're losing, age, how much collagen you naturally have, if you tone at the gym... my doc doesn't expect me to have much even though he thinks I will lose 150lbs... I don't believe him, so I am going to rock the gym hardcore. lol. My surgeon said go to the gym as soon as I can after surgery. Obviously no hardcore lifting that engages the abdomen for the first month, but other than that... he said run... lift weights... do anything I can if it doesn't hurt. I've had a lot of trainers before, so I know exactly what I plan on doing. If you haven't had one, it is well worth it, especially since they can teach you a lot of good exercises with free weights!

  11. thanks @bettie.blu i will definitely try to shake it off.
  12. I feel the same way!! I am nervous for the liquid diet not so much the surgery..
