  1. Hi! Thanks for blogging, it helps to read about the journeys of others! I just read your 27 day post-op and even though I'm 14 days post op, my experience mirrors yours. And then I read your 2 day post op entry and I KNEW you had been banded by Dr. Srikanth! Your account of the surgery day was just like mine, it was so neat to read. I got banded by Srikanth on 10/14. I was his last patient of the day, so I showed up at 5:30 a.m. and they were wheeling me into surgery at 5:48 p.m. It was a long day! I really like him though and I'm glad I chose him. I still have pain around my port and that's been difficult. Today was my first day back to work and I ended up coming home 2 hours early because of the pain. Liquid Tylenol isn't quite cutting it. Anyway, I just can't tell you how delighted I was to stumble upon your blog and find that you were banded by Dr. Srikanth. I haven't posted here much, but my stats are:

    Age: 31

    Weight before surgery: 330

Weight the morning of the surgery: 290

I haven't weighed myself since the surgery, I have an appointment with Srikanth on Friday (Halloween) and I can't wait to see how much I've lost.

Thanks again for the encouragement today, I needed it.

    Sarah

    What is it? Thanks, Sarah
  3. I was thinking about joining my local OA and I was wondering if may of you have tried OA and what you think? Thanks for your input! Sarah
  4. I was just hoping to find others that were banded the same day as me and see how everyone is doing. I'd love to hear how you're feeling and how your recovery is going. As for me, my biggest struggle is the pain caused by stitching my port to my muscle. It doesn't hurt if I'm sitting in a reclined position or laying on my back, but standing or sitting upright is painful. It's getting better as the days progress, but it's making me very thankful that I took 2 weeks off of work instead of 1. I've had a couple moments where I was really hungry. Right now, I'm only drinking an ounce of Water every 10 minutes and that's it. I get to start back on Protein shakes on Wednesday (the 22nd). My husband is amazing... which I already knew, but he has really been wowing my socks off during this process. I hope all of you have a support person helping you, I can't imagine doing this myself. I thought having all this time to sit and read, watch movies, surf the web, etc would be like a vacation but I'm already really bored. We're going to go for a drive today to get me out of the house. How are you all doing? Sarah
  5. I was banded 3 days ago and I'm still feeling a lot of pain where they stiched my port to muscle. So much pain, that it hurts to get up every 2 hours and walk. I also have gas, and I'm sure that is amplifying the pain. I've been using ice and taking gas-x, but I wonder if any of you out there experienced something similar. Thanks! Sarah

    Whom did/will you tell?

I've been struggling with the same thing. I plan/hope to be banded in September and I've only told 5 people besides my Husband. My question is: How did you all keep it from your co-workers is you had to be gone from work for a week or 2? I work in a very close knit department of 6 women and I can't imagine what I'd tell them to explain my absence. I've already told my boss in order for her to plan for my leave. Any advice about my co-workers? Thanks!
