    Help Im plateauing!

I would never go back to junk food! I am very, very strict with my foods ever since getting banded. I do not have hardly any carbs. Never touch potatoe, rice, breads, nothing like that. I only eat fish, chicken and very occasional pork if I can handle that. I think maybe I need to change my exercise routine. Maybe my body is just used to the elliptical machine. I do 30 minutes of that 4 times a week. I will have to switch and try something else.
  4. I had the lap band put in on april 17, 2008. I have lost 96 pounds since then. But over the last 3-4 weeks, I havent lost a thing. What do I do to get the weight loss started again? I have 35 pounds left to lose and want to get it all off. I only eat seafoods, chicken, vegetable daily. I usually never snack. Occasionally have an Atkins low carb shake. I also eat cottage cheese for breakfast. I am working out about 3 times a week. For about 45 minutes each time. I always do cardio for 30 min of that time. :smile2:Am I not working out enough? FYI, Ive never eaten potatoe, rice, breads or anything like that after my surgery. I stay away from carbs and really dont miss it at all. I usually use the elliptical machine 3 or 4 times a week. Maybe I need a new exercise routine? Or switch back and forth?
  5. FYI, I am COMPLETELY A DEMOCRAT. I think I made that very clear when I said I am 100% for Hillary Clinton. I was stating an opinion in regards to Obama possibly becoming president. Again, Im not impressed with him and his wife and not comfortable with his lack of experience.
  6. Quite honestly, not to make anyone mad, but I am white married to a black man....and we BOTH agree, that Obama is going to have a lot of problems because of having an outspoken wife, who has said some really really foolish things. I was 100% for Hillary and am quite disappointed that she didnt win. Im hoping that due to Obamas skin color, that he doesnt lose to McCain, but he very well could. If he doesnt take a white person, such as Hillary on as VP, he would not stand a chance. He is young and inexperienced, which stands out more to me than anything. There would be no doubt about the democratic party winning if Hillary would be president and he would have been VP. Just my opinion....and my husbands....And I do think that where someone else said that Obama does not really "act" black is mistaken.
  7. I lost 35 pounds in the first four weeks. But I have exercised a lot. I use the stationary bike and the illiptical machine. My husband and I also fast week a lot.
  8. I had a lot of pain too! I missed about a week and a half of work. (Im a nurse). You have a lot of pain, from a foreign object being in your body and whoever told any of us that this is just minor surgery, was mistaken. The other pain that I really experienced, is from the port itself. It because of how it is sewn in place or stapled. You may have port pain off and on for at least a year or so. That is normal.
  9. I have a question about my first fill. I had it done yesterday. They put in 4ccs which they said was the maximum that they could put in for the first time. It took a few hours to seem to affect me. I spent most of the evening last night nauseated, dry heaves and having difficulty talking. when I would talk too much, I would feel like gagging. Is this something that will pass? I've only been able to eat a few bites of jello. Ive tried broth, but generally I hate broth and was able to only get down about an 1/8th of a cup. I'm still feeling the same way this morning too. :wink2: Ive done reall good so far. Had my banding on April 18th and have lost 35 pounds! :biggrin2:
  10. I am 3.5 weeks post op. I am being very careful with what I eat and have not had any desire to cheat at all. I am exercising about 3-4 times a week too. BUT, I find that I have a difficult time eating with my family. I tend to chew too quickly with them and I have a hard time just looking at the food they are eating. Im doing great with weight loss. Ive lost 30 pounds already. Have 100 to go. I get my first fill on May 23. But, I am having the worst problem feeling down about eating so differently and feeling so limited with the food that I am eating. Anyone else feel this way? :welldoneclap:
