Weight loss stalled, any ideas?
busdrivinmom replied to cheshirecat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello and congratulations on the weighrt you have lost. Yes people stall with the weight loss. I too have and am going through that phase. I have learned through the support groups and keeping up with this web site that it can be a common thing. I have lost 45 lbs within the last year-- however I really would of liked to have lost more. Our bodies go through a lot of changes with this band and the body has to catch up with itself. Others will say no way but as the Dr. and nutritionist tell me everyone is different and all will lose at a different rate. Just keep up with yourself, stay focused and don't give in, to the downfall of being stuck. You will start losing again. Praise yourself for the beginning of a new you. -

I like your attitude --- keep up the good work and all things shall come to pass may you be blessed with a wonderful journey. Both on the weight loss and the trip to Disney world -
I feel like maybe I can write this similar story. I know I am not a couch potato so i just get depressed when the scale doesn't move. I am willing to give this a try just to take on the challenge. Need to lose another 55 lbs to reach my initial goal--- hmmm

So glad to hear others have the same problems. I go to local support groups and everyone talks about all the good stuff. Never any negativity-- kind of made me feel alone about this. I know I am not a failure, and the band is just a tool so I focus on the 37lbs I have lost throughout the year and pray another 37 will come off this year. Thanks for the true story of the weight loss journey.

Somebody stop me!! I cannot stop eating...m

Hello folks-- not sure if any of you are on here now but just curious to hear how you are doing now-- 3 years later I read this and feel the same way -- protein first is the basic rule everyone forgets -
band almost filled to capacity and still eating too much
busdrivinmom commented on taffiegirl's blog entry in Blog 47565
hello and know that you are not alone --yes I am one to relate to your story. I too have had the band done and have only lost 39 lbs since Aug 07. However I have had 3 fills and have learned that I should of had them more often. I learned in the beginning that this is not the miracle cure so I take every day as it comes. My band is about half full after the last fill (5-21) and I have noticed a big difference. I am still struggling to get some foods down and now my husband is concerned. This doesn't seem to be the way it all worked in the beginning. I have been leaning to soups and soft foods only to find myself craving things that wouldn't be on my eat list. You have to learn your body and the way it responds to food. Only you will know when you have had enough. They give you guide lines of how much to eat and you need to stick to them. Measure your food and when you have eaten the measured amount --- walk away from the table, if you are still hungry try a drink, then you will know if it is hunger or your mind needs to be reset. I have not been eating enough foods is what the nutritionist says-- so it not how much you eat it's what your body is needing. Are you having enough protien shakes, bars, or what ever it is you like. I have been eating the bars and enjoy them so much more than the shakes. You will find what works for you when you make your mind up that this is what you need and not your want. the wieght loss miracle is in you-- not in the band, the band is only a tool to help you along. Don't give up on your self and keep up the good work. You are 42 lbs. lighter than before you started. The slower it comes off the longer it will stay off. be blessed and have a wonderful week -
Why decaf coffee? I miss my caffeine!!!
busdrivinmom replied to magdaline's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my understanding is the decaf will also help you heal quicker nutritionist says you can have a cup of regular as long as you keep a diary of what you are actually eating---caffeine makes you want to keep moving --- including eating depends on how it effects you I finally got used to it and now I don't care for reg. coffee hmmm my day starts early too and it can be an adjustment you will get through -

Hello and hope all is well. I like the straw thought as well. Never thought of it like that. I had a fill 3 days ago and have been having way to many problems, seems everything is getting stuck. Sure hope you have gained energy and strength since your surgery, and you are feeling more like yourself by now -
4 Days Post Surgery

I had the same problem and dehydration has a big part of all this however remember your body is craving some of the things you have now eliminated.. and change is good -
hi all I'm new here so I'm learning a lot however the band is not new. I have had the same problems with the fills. I have only had 2 since Aug 07 and thought I was doing ok I lost 37lbs right away and nothing since. I even put 6lbs back on. Now it's time for another fill. How often should this be done? I kind of think each doctor has a different thought. I also am trying to restrict myself and use the band as a tool-- I have seen wonderful results for some and others struggle way to hard,
