I saw there were a few posts from some more recently sleeved feeling what have I done and feelings of sadness, and I just wanted to say those are all normal feelings that a lot of people seem to get. Your body is going through a lot of changes and hormones and toxins and everything is out of whack for sure. Add in all the new rules and schedules of keeping up fluids and proteins it can feel overwhelming, but it does for sure get easier. Be kind to yourself, acknowledge this is hard, and let yourself feel your emotions. In a few weeks you are going to be strong and in a routine and really proud of yourselves. I am so excited I am three days away from being a month out and 4 days away from no more puree lol. Soft foods here I come, if I am 100% honest yesterday I had scrambled egg and handled it fine just a lot of extra chewing and did the same thing today.

I had two days like this about two weeks after, I thought uh oh for a minute, but I was still able to eat and drink no pain so I had to realize it was healing pain, and then it went away, I stayed in the showers a little longer on those three days, but it was tough. Look at the wound sites make sure nothing is red or angry or leaky looking and if worried call your dr. they will be able to talk you through.

All of this, they told us to expect this in class and to brush a few extra times a day and rinse out, still I feel gross lol.

oh no feel better! I had just a head cold and it was killer finally starting to feel normal I can't imagine having the flu on top of everything right now.

So everyone we made it!!! It is the last day of November, and I just can't believe how far everyone has come from the two week preop phase! This was our month and I think we all rocked it! I can't wait to see how we all do on this journey that we are on! Next stop be it purees or soft foods I think we know we are able to tackle everything that is infront of us! Here's to where it began with dreams of crossing our legs and fitting into airplane seats, I am just really proud of all of us! Have a wonderful weekend!!

yes I do and have even had to take two caps a day.... it is crazy, I will be talking to my dr about this when I see them again, I spoke to them last week and the changes they made didn't really help... so IDK.

ALL of this so my current program lol is to take miralax every other day, and a dose of benefiber every day. This is helping and I am going with out so much pain and problem still have the suppositories on hand for when it gets too difficult but have not had to use them for a full week so progress for sure! good luck!

I felt the 1st 3 or 4 days were a little sore and I just had to get up and move I had a lot of shoulder pain from gas in the beginning but walking really helped with that. it sounds like you are doing a great job though already!! I am doing good, but finding out I am not as good at cooking as I thought I was lol, I suck at making purees from scratch yesterday I tried making a turkey shepards pie with cauliflower mash omg it was awful lol.

I felt that way as well. It took until I was at the hospital for me to calm down and the team really helped with that. good luck and keep us posted!

UGH!!! I am so sorry. I am sure it feels horrible today it takes a lot of work to get to the point of being ready, I get it life happens as well. Try to take it in stride and the 12th will be here before you know it.

Yes, but I am having a lot of constipation issues so I think that is why, also the swelling and healing process, but if really get concerned call and check in with your doctor.

Hey Everyone!! Congrats to all going this week, I feel like today is a big day for a lot of you! I am just shy of 3 weeks and I think I am having my first stall, so it makes sense if I am paying attention to everything I am doing, my calories have started to increase because actual pureed food over liquid, even though it is not a lot it is enough, so I spoke with my nutrionist the other week and felt like a failure she was saying I should be able to hold a lot more in and that I hadn't been eating enough, I also spoke to her about the issues surrounding the bathroom, to which she lowered my calcium dose to only 500 mg and I did not have to start my iron, biggest thing was she told me only one protein drink a day,but seriously the struggle is real in this area. In any case I am still walking more and more each day, and trying to get all my protein in a day, I think I have been pretty good, over all getting in one shake and about 6 ounces of puree in a day, and not having any problems with liquids so that is good. People around me have started to notice the loss, I am not there yet but I am feeling better leg pain and the scale is telling me that I have lost about 44lbs from my highest weight so no complaining here! Keep moving forward everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I was struggling with this as well, but feel like I have gotten better so I went and got progresso light soups, so I started with just the vegetable and beef mixed that up and ate it to give my self time to adjust, next one I did I was santa fe chicken and I added like 6 ounces of chicken to it to beef up the protein so to speak pureed and made that. Currently working my way through sirloin soup by campbells not great, but I added ground beef and then pureed. Next on my list is chicken pot pie and I will add more chicken. I also have noticed that I am able to eat 2 to 3 ounces of puree in each sitting which is helping to boost my calories. good luck I am so excited for the next phase of soft foods just because I really have been craving fish lol

Yes it should be fine you are on full liquids or puree right so it should be good.

Thanks you tube will prob have great ideas will go google that next. I know we will make it through we always do it is just timing and I don't want to sabotage myself. How are you doing?

It took me until the end of the 1st week to really feel pretty great, really walking every hour and sipping every hour really got me through. I set goals for each hour and then followed through because in my head it was the only way to get to the next level and that is what worked. it is ok to be sore I took my pain meds as needed took what they gave me in the hospital and then I used the pain med at bed for two days more and then nothing was needed. Don't worry you got this! small steps forward every day!

I hope everyone is doing well, and feeling good! I have been doing ok, I spoke to nutrition yesterday and they said I should be eating more... so I need some protein help everyone, I was told to go to one shake a day.... ok and then I was told to try and get protein elsewhere, and also to try and get some other things in, so yesterday I made ricotta bake that was fine, but how much is everyone eating of that and how is that a puree? What else are people doing? love any and all help! Side note my husband broke his leg and we have a toddler who is special needs and I am hoping I am healed enough to take care of everything! At least he doesn't have to have it operated on.

Oh good, I am doing pretty well be binded up but aside from that as long as I coat my stomach before taking my vitamin I am good to go, getting ready to start purees, I am allowed today but they said it was ok to start tomorrow, I was really nervous and so my nut and dr said the best thing to do was get a can of progresso veg and beef cook it and then blend it and divide into 10 containers and use those as my starter meal, made it feel achievable so that is my plan! They also said to continue shakes and stuff so that I will do. Then they said take a spoonful and put it down ten do another and so forth they said don't be surprised if it is only a few bites before we feel full. Good luck everyone!

Sealeafi!! Your back congrats!! Yes it took me until day 4 I think to meet all my goals they just kept telling me work on hydration and protein it will happen! Sounds like you are already doing great!

Mom2ag wow you have been through the ringer for sure! But I am glad they are aware of the problem and that you will be on the mend, I don’t think I will be ready to try the chicken soup again for awhile lol I followed the directions and like I said it was great going down but for me it just didn’t work and the thought of it now is two ugh. I am glad you have support and I think with all the hospital fluids a 7lb loss is amazing!! Keep up the great work and keep us posted!
