Awesome on the weight loss! I’m 3 or more weeks behind you, but now I can’t wait to go to Cheesecake Factory :). I know what you mean about being scared to branch out. I’d love to nibble on some raw carrot or some nuts! Hopefully I’ll be out of “mushy phase” at the end of this week. I’m not sure what will be allowed, but right now my favorite meal is chili! Chili is amazing, hated it prior to surgery love love love it now. soft foods has been great I get a lot of my protein through fish, and ground beef, and turkey. So that I am grateful for, good luck!

That is awesome! So happy for you!

Hey All- so this weekend like many may have experienced was unrestriction--- I chickened out? So I bought a green pepper it is currently sitting in the fridge still.. I was so excited for this moment, but then I got scared, had things that had to get done worried it might not sit right and freaked... I am hoping to try some raw veggies and fruits this week, I think I have hyped it up too much in my head? How did everyone else do any successful foods? I did want to say I did go to cheese cake factory on Sunday afternoon, they have a skinnylisous menu, it is wonderful, fish, chicken, protein based flavorful options. I have the grilled steak medallions (since unrestricted this was a big deal not ground or shredded or pulsed etc) it came with asparagus and mushroom, I told them to skip the potatoes. But the whole meal was huge for 420 calories and a total of 45 protein I believe. It made three meals for me, but there were so many options it didn't make me feel like I was sacrificing or scouring the menu for something healthy. it was great! Also on a weight related note I am officially 60lbs gone 46 ish since surgery I am amazed, I can't believe something is working finally. I had been stuck in my PCOs and EDS world for so long with no success, I am just still shocked. I wake up each day feeling blessed and like I have a chance moving forward to be successful with this! Hope you all have a great week!

I think Sealeaf said this best, and it sounds like you are ready to move forward in a positive way. It is easy to get caught up in the numbers, and forget about how good overall you are feeling and doing. I am only weighing in once a week for the most part with the occasional cheat midweek to see if I need to adjust anything food wise, and movement wise, but it is working for me. what I have noticed is the bloating and gain around the time of the month, but right after there is a lot of joy when I step on the scale. things fluctuate there. Keep up the great work!

that looks great! lol may have to look into these!! Thanks for the share!

Stopping by to wish everyone a good weekend, hope everyone is doing well... I actually will hit the unrestricted phase this weekend... I am not worried like I am going to go back to old habits, but I am nervous/ excited about adding in fruits and veggies. Have a great weekend!

You do have a great doctor! That is great and yes the h.pylori can be the cause of most of this but.... it sounds like you have a great starting point. You tolerate fish, and it is a great source of protein. You should make sure you have premade fish available all the time, personally fish has been my go to in so many ways I eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner sometimes. also winner you tolerate liquids no problem! That is wonderful and a super positive, so I would drink one protein shake a day and then I would have the fish source for you other protein at the moment and continue to heal. then increase when you are ready... I think maybe you just need a little more healing time remember your body has been through a lot and it comes with a lot of fluctuations of hormones and toxins and swelling and more so it just is better to do what you can!

so my doc said I need to up it to 60 minutes a day... I am not there yet, currently doing between 30 and 45 minutes, but building steadily since given the green light to start, I did get the fit bit charge 3 and loving it. I also downloaded the fit bit workouts, they are ten minutes some of them... I have bought anything on it, but it is not bad for before my workout. I mainly walk and elliptical. I have Ehlers danlos syndrome so I have to be careful not to dislocate a joint so I am pretty low impact. I am going to start joining in on the neighborhood workout sessions as well, everyone meets up on Saturday mornings and does an hour long workout it is a lot of fun, so I will be excited to get back to that!

I am really sorry Miss Kee you have been through the ringer, what did you dr. suggest with your plan? I know that it is common for the nausea to happen for up to three months out so having that Zofran on hand can be helpful! Also, what are you taking daily, vitamins? do you have to take any type of antacid? what are you eating what stage are you in, your a little over a month out so I am guessing puree or soft foods? what does stay down what feels okay liquid wise? how much food are you putting out for yourself? I know it is a lot of questions, but I would sit down and make a list of foods and liquids you have tried and what is successful and what is not. What it all feels like after. Then I would also make note of what times you are taking your vitamins and what you have eaten already, and antacids and protein drinks etc. Your body is still pretty swollen and recovering this early on, and adding to many things at once can set you into a tailspin, always remember one new ingredient a day until you build up what you can have and handle. Remember if you are struggling at your current phase go back a phase for a day or two and try advancing later. Then I would have a talk with your DR. again, your Dr. seems pretty receptive already and willing to try and assist you so that is good. Hugs I know you must be feeling frustrated.

soo just a quick question... is it still a NSV if you find yourself chasing your toddler through the mall on Christmas eve and you pants fall down to your ankles? still feeling mortified and joyful at the same time about that one.... Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

YAY!!! I am right there with you having a bit of a stall but I cheated the other day and peaked at the scale and saw it was going down this week already by 3lbs... not recording yet because fingers crossed it will be the end of my stall lol... I am happy I think I shared with you all that the doctor had told me they only expect a 15lb or 20 lb loss in the first month... by the sounds of it will are all doing great... I am shocked at how fast the changes are happening, I think people around me are noticing which is nice and a little weird like I am coming to terms with how BIG I really was and have been for such a long time, it is so nice to not be reaching for a snack or a second helping, to feel satisfied with the smaller portions. I came downstairs in a 4x shirt today and my husband laughed at me and was like you can't wear that outside in public... I was shocked Honestly I hadn't even really looked in the mirror... I had grabbed it because holiday themed, and threw it on, and he was right it was below my knees, and just looked hilarious all around... I ended up laughing and crying (happy tears) but just overwhelmed that this is working and how much I needed this in my life. I feel like I am truly going to be here to watch my daughter grow old and be the support she needs in life. I am just so grateful for chances we have before us. On another note, I am a suitable weight for the elliptical we have in the basement, and I am loving fighting with her lol I had no idea but this machine talks to you as you are working out, trying to motivate you, keep up the work, this 100% incline is nothing lol. I love yelling at this machine or answering her so fun... My husband was like um were you on the phone with the cable company (cause I have a tendency to get into arguments with cable company remote area = slow service) I was confused at first but her had heard me yelling hysterical! I really hope everyone has a great weekend, and for those celebrating a happy holiday! I can say I already have my Christmas wish for health this year, and so looking forward to 2019! I am so glad to have found this group as well! Love the support!

You have done an amazing job of advocating for yourself! Congrats! You knew what you went through wasn't right and you took action, I am happy for you! I hope everything goes great in January! The most important thing is to trust the dr you pick! I will never regret my choice to switch before surgery ever, I love my surgeon she was amazing!
