Surgery in the morning...Nerves are kicking in!
Twism44 replied to Twism44's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Surgery was Monday morning. Got home yesterday afternoon. Post-op pain is manageable. The only intense pain is around an incision that was stapled into the muscle. Not having any trouble with swallowing. Started adding stool softener to liquids to avoid constipation. All in all, I'm happy to be on the other side of surgery. -

Thank you all for the supportive words. I just had a salad for dinner. That'll it be the last real food for a while. I'll touch base tomorrow afternoon. -
I’m at the movies with my wife. I’m over not being able to have any popcorn but would kill for a Coke Zero. Of course, neither of us can remember if it’s alowed on my pre-op diet! 😩

How often are you having a cigar? Are they causing you any problems?

Started Pre-Op Diet Yesterday. Surgery is 10/8
Twism44 posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hello all. Yesterday I started my pre-op diet. Surgery is set for 10/8. I guess this thing is really happening. I'm a little nervous about some things like the anesthesia, post-op diet, stuck food/dumping, loose skin, etc. I find that this forum helps but it also can be a little scary. Until finding my way to this site, I was unaware of the chances of post-op depression from missing food. That does not sound like fun. Regardless, I'm here and going through with it. My main reason is quality of life as I age. I'm 48 and know if I don't lose weight I'll be facing some major health issues as I get older. Thanks for letting me vent. I have faith that it will turn it fine but won't be easy. -
My gastric bypass is set for 10/8. Started pre-op diet yesterday. Woke up today w/ a headache but other than that, it's not awful. A little nervous about the actual procedure and post-op stuff but I'm confident that I'll get thru...My biggest concern is the post-op depression that I've read about on this forum. TBH, that scares me a lot.
