I got a lot of warnings that I would be more fertile AND had to go off the pill for 2 months. I've read you aren't supposed to get pregnant for a year. I would call your doctor immediately. https://www.babycenter.com/0_seven-facts-about-pregnancy-after-weight-loss-surgery_1504874.bc Good luck, whatever you do.

The Dreaded Holidays

I was going to my aunt's and told her about my surgery, thought everything would be cool. Just found out we are going to my cousin's house with her. I barely know him and his wife and there will be 16 people there. Hope no one notices me pushing food around on my plate and not eating it. Maybe they have a dog? -
More likely you aren't eating enough and your body thinks you're starving. What are you eating? How much water are you drinking? Are you constipated? (I know, so nosy.)

I found sugarfree mints with the caffeine of half a cup of coffee. I can't wake up all the way without at least one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DQRFNRD/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -
Post op pain - be honest
JessLess replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had single incision vsg surgery as well. I had no gas or heartburn pain at all. I had some pain and stayed 2 nights in the hospital. They had me on a Dilaudid pump which did nothing for me, then switched me to an Oxycodne drip because I was in pain. They sent me home with 20 5 mg pills of Oxycodone which is a tiny bit more Oxycodone than a tic tac and I didn't finish them. I also had a cold so the first week was pretty miserable, no pain after that, just being careful not to injure myself. Totally worth it and totally forgotten about now! -
Hypertension is high blood pressure. What are your numbers? If you are not satisfied or would just prefer to see a specialist, you can see a specialist for high blood pressure which is usually either a cardiologist or a nephrologist (a kidney specialist). Wellbutrin treats depression and could be contributing to the problem.

I don't like the taste of the passion fruit Isopure I have but since it counts for protein AND water, I get it down. Has anyone tried coconut or ice tea flavor? The water I love is Hint Water. I can easily get 2-3 of those down a day.

FlyAwayFree, I think talking to someone would help. Like us, an OA meeting, a therapist, a dietitian, whoever makes you comfortable. You may stall or even gain, but it really is a marathon, not a sprint. I think you are doing awesome. You've lost 50 lbs!!!!

What's your weight loss goals... Height: 5'6" Surgery Date: 10/15/18 Highest Weight: 260 (At 260 I lost 80 on phentermine, gained 70 back, then sought out surgery a couple of years later.) Surgery Weight: 244 Current Weight: 227 Goal Weight Set w/ Dr: 175 Stretch Goal Weight: 150 I was taking Milk of Magnesia but stopped due to cramps. Now I'm taking generic Colace, which seems quite good. I take it as needed (every time) on my work from home day (Wed) and a weekend day to avoid diarrhea at work. On a couple days when I have had stalls, I've felt like my body has gone into starvation mode and just added a little mashed avocado or nut butter. It makes me feel better and I think it has helped with the stalls.

I'm supposed to have 2 oz of those kind or things, with the inclusion of 2 oz of protein shake, 6 times a day. If it's clear broth or protein shake, sometimes I have a bit more.
-
Sounds very normal. I am on a blended diet (mush!) for my first month. Also, people have said your tastes can change a lot after surgery. Like I've been enjoying 2 oz. of mashed potatoes because I never allowed myself potatoes on previous diets.
-
I kind of thought the name of the game was 6 small meals a day. I wouldn't eat more because I'd be afraid of stretching your stomach, but with your doctor's OK (or your own judgment) I would eat the small portions more often.

How long after surgery before you returned to work?

You are one tough cookie. -
Where do people even shop?!?!?!?
JessLess replied to AEdoesRnY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Universal Standard is an online boutique that lets you exchange some of their clothes if your size changes in a year. I used to buy Nic + Zoe, Eileen Fisher, and similar brands. I'm pretty loyal to the stores and designers that made plus size clothes I like and plan to keep shopping them. Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, and Nordstrom are faves. But while I'm losing, I'll be finding stuff on eBay and Poshmark. Happily I kept some of my smaller clothes from when I lost 80 lbs. on Phentermine. -

How long after surgery before you returned to work?
JessLess replied to MikeIL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in tech sales, generally a desk job. I spent one week off, worked from home for the next week, and was back at my desk for week 3 (last week). I was tired by Friday, but I made it. Now I'm spending the weekend resting. -
I had my surgery 10/15 so I will be on soft foods for Thanksgiving. I'm going to my aunt's house and I told her about my surgery because she's nice and non judgemental. I may eat a yogurt, whatever, I don't really care what I eat, I just want to see her. I'm having a weird experience today. This is the start of my week 4 and I feel very cold and weak. Like maybe I am in ketosis or need more calories? I'm having some Isopure water now.

I hated quitting coffee. I managed for a few weeks but now that I’m back at work, I was so fuzzy-headed without it. I’ve been taking a sugar free mint with the caffeine of half a cup of coffee against medical advice. I feel so much better! -
I slept on my back in bed for the first week. Soon after that I was able to sleep on my side again. Good luck getting comfortable.

About 20 lbs.

I have a law degree and those papers are to protect the hospital and their insurance companies against every possibility that could ever go wrong. For the vast majority of people, things go exactly as planned. The operation is relatively safe, along the lines of having your gallbladder removed. If you feel like the pros, having a tool to lose weight that works well for most people, outweigh the risks, that should make you feel better. There are risks involved in leaving your house, driving, etc. but no one has you sign a release to do those things. Hope that helps.

That's f*cked up. I would be livid at your doctor's office and your HR person.
