  1. Just a little warning, a guy from my hospital thought he could have steak tips during his soft food stage if he chewed it enough. After surgery, he was in rehab for quite awhile.

    Bipolar diagnosis

What an ignorant question! I would seriously wonder about her.
  3. It will get better. My first week after getting sleeved was not fun. Did they give you anything for pain? If not, you can call your surgeon's office and request it tomorrow.
  4. Everyone should do what their OWN medical team recommends and what feels right to THEM. Of course we all want to see a video telling us it's OK not to exercise. No one got fat because we love running marathons. And the term internationally accredited is total cr*p. WHAT is he internationally accredited to do? Nothing. What nonsense.
  5. I brought and used: hair brush, hair ties, deodorant, lip balm, and Listerine strips, my iPhone & charger, a face cloth and some face wash stuff, and for the ride home, underwear, shoes, really baggy sweatpants, sweatshirt. SUPERGLAM! I brought and didn't use: another change of clothes. I wore my hospital no-slip socks and nightie the whole time I was there. p.s. Good luck!
  6. This is extremely common. When you can start eating blended food you will probably feel a lot better. If you can go to a support meeting at your hospital, talk to a therapist, or just post on here, I think it would help a lot. Good luck and feel better!

    Edu. Yourself!!

I don't believe doctors like Dr. V. should use the fact that people trust them and think they are intelligent to sell MLM products. I just unfollowed him on Facebook, actually. I think his multi level marketing is very unethical.

    Calcium Caltrate w/vit D

That makes a lot of sense. My problem was portion control and the portions were things like pizza and tater tots.

    Calcium Caltrate w/vit D

@LaNueva_Janie each one has 2 g added sugar. The second ingredient is corn syrup and the third is sugar. They do taste suspiciously good. haha My plan recommended them and I didn't pay that much attention, honestly. I feel like having a little sugar like that is OK for me, but I certainly understand some people would want to avoid it.

    Calcium Caltrate w/vit D

My program recommends Viactiv Calcium +Vitamin D3 Supplement Soft Chews. I take 3 a day. They taste really good to me.
  11. I hope your doctor gave you some suggestions? If not, shame on them and maybe ask your regular doctor or a dietician?
  12. I snack because... I like snacks. Light string cheese is one of my faves. I'm still only eating about 800 calories a day. If I stop losing weight, I'll reevaluate.

    Food Before and After Photos

Fine, because if it's something really good I know I can have it for my next meal as well.
  14. I did. It was to look for other issues before my surgery.

    shocking the system

Instead of eating something off plan, I have found occasionally increasing my calories will break a stall. My dietician recommends it as well.
  16. My pre-surgery diet was two protein shakes per day and a Lean Cuisine type dinner. We were allowed 1 shake and two frozen meals if we got hungry. I had a single incision VGS with no issues. My surgeon is excellent.

    Food Before and After Photos

We went to Ruth's Chris Steak House last night. They have all their nutritional information online and calories on the menu. I had 3/4 a bowl of lobster bisque and half of one of three crabcakes in the crab cake appetizer when I got full. I ate 255 calories total. In the old days I would have had an entree too. As it stands now, I have 2 1/2 crab cakes in the fridge for the weekend.
  18. I'm your height and at 140 you can see some major collar bone action.
  19. I had a nice roommate and we ignored each other unless one of us needed something. I did throw up because I had a cold and was coughing after the surgery. It was just a little liquid and as far as I know we both survived.
  20. The surgery won't cure food addiction. I highly recommend you see a therapist for that before you have the surgery.

    Period won't go off

I don't know how old you are, but I've read that having the surgery can bring on menopause a little earlier. I think some irregularity is normal as your body processes the trauma of major surgery.
  22. I had VGS surgery and have no regrets at all. I've had no negative side effects, no dumping, no hair loss so far, and I feel great. People say they wish they had had it sooner, but I wasn't ready sooner. I needed to have a few close friends have the procedure and have it be successful for them. And if I hadn't waited, I may not have gotten my awesome surgery who was able to do the procedure all through a single incision in my belly button. My old workout buddy had a band and I asked her if she would do it again and she said "no" so...

    October 2018 Sleevers

I use UNJURY unflavored protein powder fwtw. I had my check up yesterday and have also lost 37 pounds. My doctor said I was losing a bit faster than average which shocked me because it seems so slow in here. That will teach me to compare myself to other people. No hair loss. I do get around 100 grams of Protein + about a third of the days. We talked about dropping my iron and vitamin D supplements based on my bloodwork. I need to drink more water, other than that everything is fine.

Sorry for the double post. I use the Baritastic app for protein and water and the Medisafe app for vitamins and all my other medications. Medisafe is awesome. It beeps when it's time to take something and also warns you when you are taking two things that might have negative interactions.
