Help please! Nightime eating out of control
Claudine1975 replied to Bandana's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have always have been a night time eater/snacker. I allow myself to have a local/carb snack and then SF Jello and anything after that is either tea (caffeine free) or water. I have learned that it is a habit but it doesn't have to be a bad habit. I just have to keep in check. I do suffer more on the weekends that I don't keep busy enough during the day. -
How long does your restriction last?
Claudine1975 replied to jlray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was at my sweet spot with my 3rd fill and that lasted over 5 months. I just got a tweaking last month and I feel as it I need one for a while. -

I had a stall last week and after really looking into my diet I needed to eat more and I did. I gained almost pounds and then ended the week with a .4 loss. I will take that. Have a great weekend everyone. -
I am in also. My Memorial day goal is to 195 lbs - about 5 ponds for this month. By July 4th 185 and by my band Anniversary (8/1) I would like to be anywhere less then 180 for a 100lb loss. I have started eating more and the scale is moving - I just hope it keeps moving.

I have been in a pattern of lose weight for a few weeks and then stall for a few. Maybe this is normal for me? I struggle with getting the right amount of calories in. My intake has been 600-800 and then netting really low...like 100-200 low. I was losing but not for long. It is recommended my multiple websites that I consume anywhere between 1400-1600 to lose 2 pounds a week. My question is how, as a banded person, do I get that in? My day usually goes like this: B-Protein shake 220 cal/32 g Protein S-cheese stick 70 cal/5g protein L-tuna/chicken salad or Soup ~300 cal/15 g protein S-low carb yogurt 50 cal/5 g protein D-fish/Chicken and veggies ~200 cal/20 g protein 70-80oz of liquid and also a protein bullet divided out into Water that is an added 160 calories and 45g of protein I take in about 900-1100 in a day I exercise every day for an hour - Curves, Walking and toning - different things on different days. Maybe I am meant to stall every few weeks. But it gets frustrating and I have no idea how will I eat 600 more calories in a normal day. Any suggestions?

I usually get in anywhere from 70-80oz of liquid and by the second pee of the day I am clear. - little wierd talking about pee on the internet.

I am still the same as last week. Over the weekend I gained a pound and then lost it during the week to come out even. I think I need to up my calories. I use the TDP also and I am always netting less 500 calories a day with exercise. I guess I need to eat more:tongue2:. -
Hey gang...I did 45 min of lower body strength training and 30 min at Curves. Angelnurse - be careful with that knee. I had a slight pain in mine last week and then pushed a little to hard. Not very fun. But I took it easy over the weekend and it is better. I just need to be careful with it.

Have you used CURVES?
Claudine1975 replied to megster27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go to Curves and love it and have seen results. The Curves I go to has the SMART program. You are weighed and measured. Then you are tested on the machines to see what your range of motion and how hard you should be working on the machine. The machines have indicators as to how many reps, how hard you are working and your range of motion. It has a heart rate monitor on a step machine and my heart is always 160-165 and I am sweating heavily. Not only it is a great place to start but if you work hard you will see results. I don't get bored and I enjoy the workout. -
Hi guys...nothing too much to report. I have been getting up at 5:00 am, yes 5:00 am, to do a light cardio and then I alternate between upper and lower body toning. I also been going to Curves at night 4 days a week. I am so trying to get to onderland. Not so bright note, I have PB'd twice at work. Not so good, I have to stop talking and eating at the same time. I tend not to pay attention to how much I am putting in my mouth and not chewing. I have to get better at that. Have a great night everyone.

I did some light cardio and upper body toning this morning and 30 min at Curves after work. Trying to force myself into onderland:ohmy:

Hey guys. I did some aerobics and lower body strength for 45 minutes this morning. I did Curves for 30 minutes tonight. Hoping for the same tomorrow.

hot food vs. cold food being able to go down
Claudine1975 replied to Just Banded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have any temperature issues with food, but I do have them with liquids. I can not tolerate cold liquids. I seem to swell shut if I take a swig of an ice cold beverage. Warm to room temperature are OK. Sorry I can't help you with the warm food issue. -
I have a Wii fit and love it. I enjoy "my fitness coach", it does not use the balance board and it is more like an interactive workout video but works up a killer sweat.

Hey Guys...I wanna join in for the next challenge. Great thread for motivation.

Friday Morning Weigh-in, April 24th
Claudine1975 replied to BDS_Geologist's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My fill kicked in this week and I have been stressed at work. Normally I would eat, but not now. I had a loss of 2.4 Pounds this week. Have a greet weekend! -
Today started off with thunderstorms and has ended sunny and 75. Just the reverse of how my day went:eek:. My hubby is in Las Vegas this week so it leaves my daughter, dog and me flying solo this week. After I dropped her off at school, I did aerobics for 60 minutes - yeah. I have taken today and tomorrow off as vacation to get stuff done while hubby is away and kid at school. I got a lot of errands done and cooked dinner (fish and carrots w/broccoli). All was well, until my band said that is it..no more...and I dang it...had to have one more bite. AND the nightmare began, I ran into the powder room trying to hack it up and slimed all over. My dog was whining to go outside my daughter banging at the door and the phone ringing. Really...It all was going so well:mellow: After 10 minutes of pain, it faded...I took the dog out cleaned up dinner and now getting ready to put my daughter to bed. I hope tomorrow goes better. I am defrosting tomato Soup as to not get stuck tomorrow. Have a great night everyone!

"Why is it that plain m&m's go down smooth but the cranberry juice backs up like a slums toilet" Yeah, I know about this one. I can no longer have anything cold. I try, and then it comes back up or for the next five minutes I have to spit out my own saliva. I have to have my drinks room temperature from now on.

Hey gang! I live in a small town outside of Raleigh. I am a mother of 3 year old daughter and a 6 year old dog. I have a great husband who supports my journey. I am just getting all the testing and evualtions done in June. I am nervous and excited about surgery. My starting weight is 280 and I am 5'3. I wear a size 22/24 and would love to shop in the misses department - size 12 sounds nice. My surgeon (Dr Enoch) said I will lose 100 pounds and I am really excited about that. I would love to chat, email, private messege with anyone that is any stage of being a bandster.:w00t:

For mushies I did eggs, egg beaters, refried Beans w/salsa and cheese on top (yummy) and some creamier Soups, yogurt. I tried cottage cheese - didn't like it at all. Bloated - yeah that is normal. I didn't feel hunger until about a month or so into it and then I was on to hard Proteins (fish and moist chicken). I loved wrap pre banding but I can no longer eat them. Doesn't seem to want to go down without a fight and I just stopped eating them. I just stopped putting the cup on the table when I was eating meals. It is a slow process but not drinking when eating will help the fullness last. That is once you have restriction. Right now you are probably still swollen from surgery. I have been steadily losing since surgery until about mid March or so. I stop tracking my foods and started not to keep up with my food choices. I am back to tracking my food and watching my calories and Protein. I think there is a food stage recipe place some where in the food section. You might find some interesting stuff there. Good Luck and please don't hesitate to ask questions. C.

I have had my Mirena for 3 years and have no issues with weight gain, mood swings or anything else. I don't notice a thing different, even when I got the band last year. I used to be on the pills before I had my daughter and after I couldn't remember to take my pill everyday. I think everyone has different experiences.:tt1:

FoxTerp - what food stage are you on? Are you still on mushies? That was the hardest for me because I didn't want to live on mashed potatoes and beans. I couldn't bring myself to eat baby food. I today eat pretty much fish and chicken, ground turkey in Chili and spaghetti sauce.
