    Orthostatic Hypotension

This is a thing for me at the moment too. I measured my BP (sitting) and it was 108/61. Pre-surgery my readings were in between 120-130/80-90. I just think my body needs to get used to being at a lower pressure, but in the meantime imma get up from chairs a little more slowly. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

what's the worse things about bypass

I am a revision from lapband (2009) to mini-gastric bypass (oct 2018) and I genuinely have absolutely no regrets. Wish I'd done it years ago. I don't feel any different in my body (I can't tell my internal plumbing has been rerouted) except now I'm too wussy to eat icecream or anything with a high sugar or fat content coz I have dumped a few times. However it's certainly not as bad as the sliming, PBing and pain on not chewing properly with the lapband. I really really love my bypass, it means I can eat and lose weight like a regular person rather than a compulsive food addict. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

  15. Hi Pippa. I live in Ireland but I had my surgery done with Dr Chris DeBruyne in Belgium and I cannot speak highly enough of him and his team. http://belgiumsurgeryservices.com/ The Jan Portaels hospital was excellent, and the nursing staff all spoke English to me. Very professional. I had a revision from lapband to mini-gastric bypass but he does the sleeve as well. You can talk with him and/or his team as to which would be the best option for you. The website lists all the costs for the surgery packages and there were no other costs except the flights for me from Dublin to Belgium. I took my hubby but you don't have to bring someone if you don't want to (much better if you do because they can help you with your luggage and being there for you). Also book assistance at the airport for the return trip so you can be driven around on a scooter and you won't have to walk / stand for a long time. You might still be a little sore afterwards. The hotel is a very short walk away from the hospital and also the town (there's a Lidl right nearby). Good luck! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I've done crap at the challenge (had some choccy as a treat the other night) but the good news is, I hit my February weight goal early. Weighed in at 104 on the dot this morning. That's another four kilos I hope to never see again! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Some light reading

I will. I flicked thru it in the bookshop and when I read him quoting a study about research on the importance of protein and its influence on carbohydrate intake, I was sold. He's an obesity geneticist at Cambridge. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. Sweet bell peppers and sweet cherry tomatoes. And Pink Lady apples. I just love 'em, they are such a treat whereas before I would have turned my nose up at them. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. I reckon I did have a mild dumping episode. I ate more than I normally did (50gms *ack*) right before dinner then went for a walk but felt nauseous and not good. So I didn't eat dinner (didn't have the calories left anyhow). I'm good if I have 20gms but anything more and I think I have to be careful. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Soz guys, I've been falling behind. 17. Exercise: hubs hopefully asked if I didn't feel like going for our walk but I said I did so we went. It's feeling "easier" so I need to up my game, make it more challenging somehow. I've turned into one of those people who exercises regularly *gasp*. 18. I need to forgive my late dad for telling me I couldn't wear frilly dresses because I wasn't built to be able to wear them. He didn't know such a throwaway statement from when I was a kid would stay with me, but I forgive him. 19. Positive memory: I was praying in a little mosque in Marrakech when a little boy came over and kissed me on the cheek whilst I was bending over (it's a position of prayer). He skeddaddled off and I never found out whether his mother had told him to do it, or if he was just being a cheeky rascal but it made me smile. He would have been all of five! 23. Me, I'm a few days over four months (Oct 16). I speak in kilos so I'll try and translate: Before pre-op diet I was 134 kg / 295 lbs Surgery date: 127.5 / 281 lbs Today: 105.1 / 231 lbs That's just shy of 30 kilos or 64 lbs which I'm thrilled with, especially coz mine was revision surgery. (My pre-lapband highest weight was 153.5 kgs / 338 lbs). Boy do I feel different these days! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
