    October 2018 Sleevers

Don't laugh but can you take NSAIDs as a suppository? When I had kidney stones they gave me Difene as a suppository and it was a bloomin' miracle. I know you can get paracetamol as a suppository so maybe ibuprofen etc. too?? Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Happy Birthday, mate. What an achievement to come this far! That's under 95 kilos which sounds even better! [emoji108] Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Vitamins & water intake

My surgeon told me to wait two weeks before taking Vitamins. Although I have the bypass not the sleeve.
  8. You look fab! But I gotta ask - how are those shorts not swimming around your ankles? They look like they're the same, did you adjust them? Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Watery Diarrhea?

Well you might be OK with cheese and yoghurt. I only have lactose issues with milk (and when I used to have it, cream). Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Water

Just seems to go straight through me and I'm a month out after revision to mini gastric bypass. I suspect my hole between my stoma and my intestine is large because I don't have any problems drinking just like I used to. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Watery Diarrhea?

Are you drinking dairy with Lactose in it? You may be lactose intolerant now which can give you tummy probs and diarrhea. Try switching to lactose free and see if that helps. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    October Bypass

Oh my dudes - it happened to me!! The dreaded dumping. And I was being really good (or so I thought!). Today is the first day of regular food for me, so I went to Costa and ordered a porridge and a skinny-milk flat white! I carefully looked at the porridge stats and they weren't too bad. So I sit down to have the porridge with some added Sweet & Low (no honey or sugar or jam of course) and about half-way in, I felt hot and cold and immediately nauseous. Like oh my goodness. And what do I do - I'm not at home, I'm in a freakin' coffee shop. So I went to the loo and sat on it for a while and it passed thank goodness (as well as TMI some squidgy diarrhoea). I don't understand peeps. I was being so good waaaaaaaaa 😫

    Non scale victory

It's the dreaded week three stall / hiccup. Seems to happen to a lot of peeps. (It did to me too). But concentrating on dropping clothes sizes and medications helps! You got this! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Post op pain - be honest

I was really lucky, I felt a bit miserable the next day and asked the nurses for something stronger than the paracetamol they were giving me. No idea what they gave me but it worked. Had no gas pain (didn't have it with my lapband either). I took some anti - nausea drugs I think but other than that it was just paracetamol when I was out of hospital. I did take notice of what I'd read here on the forums, and made sure I got up and walked around. Did the physio exercises they have me and blew and sucked the breathing thing they gave me too. But I've had WAY worse pain than this. (kidney stones, infected dying fibroids, blocked urethra) so this was nothing by comparison. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Really good article. Imma print it out and put it in my bariatric folder! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

    No Pain Medications

Me neither!! (morphine not working). Neither does codeine or tramadol. I reckon I have that gene that doesn't metabolise them properly but if I ever tell a doc that I sound like a drug seeker [emoji22] Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I reckon nearly everyone has some level of stress prior to surgery. In my case it wasn't the operation itself (coz of a variety of illnesses I've been under that many times I've lost count) but more the panic of what this will mean to be permanently unable to eat a family size block of chocolate in one sitting (I know, I know, priorities - right!) Be kind to yourself! If you find yourself obsessing over it, try and break the brain cycling with a distraction. Come and read all the VET success stories here. You can do this - it's hard work but oh so worth it! Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
