I don't think I can really claim credit. I'm sure I read it somewhere but I can't remember where. Might have been Boundaries by Cloud and Townshend. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Me *waving hands in air*. I have a history of kidney stones but that was nearly ten years ago. So about eight weeks after surgery I developed one (although small enough to not show up on xray). I spent about four days feeling bloody miserable, one of them in the ER trying to figure out is it was stuck. Next day it alleviated and I've been fine since so I'm pretty sure I passed it. I had been taking calcium but I stopped. I do need to ask my surgeon what to do, but I've been lazy and haven't done that yet. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Friendships are kind of like a joint bank account where if its healthy, both people make deposits and both make withdrawals. If she has made a lot of friendship deposits in the past (being supportive, listening to you, helping you out, giving in your time of need etc.) then it just might be her time to make a few withdrawals now (your time to support her, even if it feels a bit one way). But, if you're always making deposits and she is always making withdrawals, it's not a friendship, it's codependency or she might be a user. Only you can honestly know which. But if it's creating feelings of resentment in you, it might be worth examining whether this friendship can really be kept alive or not. Sometimes relationships come to an end and its time to move on, as difficult as it may seem. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Keto Diet with weight loss surgery - What are your thoughts about it?
ummyasmin replied to erics300's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I do modified keto - cut out all sugary and starchy carbs (sugar, rice, potato, bread etc) but eat whatever fruit and veggies and legumes I like. So, not really true keto but keto-ish. Facing said that, I've just started the Jan challenge and want to keep my net carbs under 50 a day so that means no fruit most likely. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app -
Proudest 2018 moment: worked really hard to lose weight over 2018. In Feb I had a bariatric appointment to discuss possible revision surgery and was 143 kilos / 315 lbs. Worked really hard even with dodgy lapband that either had no effect when too lose or terrible reflux whenever it was tightened and by October got down to 127.5 / 281 lbs for revision surgery. Every pound was hard won I tell ya. So proudest moment was when I got on plane to go to Belgium for my surgery and the seat belt fit without an extender. I was so delighted and happy! First time in decades I hadn't needed to ask for an extender. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Day 3: 2018 goals. I didn't really have any except to get the surgery which, yay, I did. I'm not a big goal setter usually, I'm a fly by the seat of my pants, make it up as I go along type of gal. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
ummyasmin replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Had my first day of Ramadan makeup fasting today (I have some days to makeup that I hadn't fasted in Ramadan due to period, illness & travel). This is the first time I fasted post-op and it wasn't toooooooo bad. I got an almighty headache but I wasn't really hungry at all. It definitely made dinner plans easier as I hadn't had a lot of calories for breakfast. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app -

My birds are already costing me a fortune, coz I'm such a softie I buy wild bird feed to feed the sparrows, wrens, robins and starlings. Oh and two collared doves and a black bird I've named Jeff. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app -

There's different types of dumping. If you eat something sugary and in a very short time you feel flushed, nauseated, want to lie down etc. then I wouldn't add sugar to the equation because it will make you feel worse and exacerbate the problem. I'd go find somewhere quiet to rest and ride it out. If, on the other hand, you haven't eaten something for a while, after having something carbish a few hours ago, and you start to feel irritable, shaky, can't concentrate etc. then having a *small* amount of immediate release glucose (eg a couple of jelly beans, a small glass of juice) will treat the hypoglycaemia. Perhaps he only calls the first thing actual dumping. Sent from my SM-G930F using BariatricPal mobile app
