Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
iattcom replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am hoping that after I see my doctor on Tuesday he gives me good news and I can actually go and look into a gym. I am ready to get moving more then just walking. And I hope that the place I am looking at has water aerobics so it will help my knee as well. -
Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
iattcom replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning everyone, I had RnY on 9/26 and have lost almost 30 pounds since my first weight in at the clinic. I am supposed to be on puree food at this stage of the game. I am not there. I am seeing my surgeon on Tuesday afternoon to hopefully be able to get some answers to why I am afraid to eat. I tried to go full liquids on the day I was supposed to and it took me 2 hours to finish my breakfast of coffee, 2 oz of thinned Greek yogurt, and 6 oz of protein shake. I know it was a bad meal as we are not supposed to drink for 30 minutes before or after we eat. The coffee was first and that was part of why it took me 2 hours to finish it all. I had the same thing for lunch except no more coffee and even then it took me 2 hours to finish my meal. For dinner I only finished the protein shake. I did have water through out the day and I also had off and on increasing and incredible back pain. I did not sleep well Sunday night and Monday morning I had to drive myself to a class. I went back to clear liquids on Monday because I was hurting so badly. When I got home I had explosive diarrhea, luckily it didn’t happen until after I got out of my car. I drank protein2o protein water with whey protein and my regular water for the day. That was the extent of my “food” for the day. I had finished the protein2o at about 7pm and went to bed at my normal bed time of about 11:30pm and then woke up at about 3:30am with what my surgeon’s nurse said could have been the dumps. I did a day of broth and jello and Gatorade like I had in the hospital and then tried the protein shake again. I am tolerating them well, I just have not add anything else to my diet. -
Nausea after surgery...what is your experience?
iattcom replied to MissPoodle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I did not have any nausea at all and I take pepsid twice a day now, of course I have not eaten anything harder then pudding or jello either. My surgery date was 9/26 -

The first real food I have eaten was some sugar free pudding. I can drink my shakes so I can get my protein in that way, I just don’t feel like I am ready to try regular food.

Almost all of my scabs have come off and left behind nice clear closed spots

My surgery date is coming
iattcom replied to CRD1981's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my goodness after my first day of full liquids I hit the wall of pain like you would not believe. I thought I tolerated everything well. I could not sleep at all that night and when I got up the next day I had to drive for the first time since surgery. I actually had to go and sit through a 4 hour class. That was fun, NOT. I did it but it was not fun. I went back to clear liquid and drank a protein2o drink along with my water and that was all I had on Monday. I called my doctor on Tuesday and his nurse told me I may have become lactose intolerant. However I am able to tolerate the regular protein shakes just fine. -
The only reason I sleep at night is because I do not sleep during the day and I am always doing something during the day to keep both my body and my mind occupied. So when I go to bed I am exhausted.😴

No trouble sleeping, actually sleeping at least 4 hours at a time, and wearing my cpap machine.

Sunday I was supposed to be able to go to full liquids and after the pain I felt from that, I did clean liquid today and did not have any problem. Now I am not sure when I should start full liquids.
-
i am sure that is why I put a bandage on it. The glue has started to come up and I noticed it after my first shower so I have been watching it closely.
-
I have one incision that is coming unglued so I put a bandage on it and I still have gas pains in the middle of my back and sometimes in my left shoulder. I still can not sleep on my left side, and I am afraid to try. I sleep on my right side and my back.

Today was my first outing and only because I had to, I am staying in tomorrow and will be going out Wednesday because I have to as well.
-
Today I drove myself to a 3 hour class and was actually there for 4 hours. Came home and sat in the car for another hour. Just did not feel like getting out yet, and when I did I felt the straightest feeling like I was going to have a bought of diarrhea, which would be really strange as I still have not had anything to really eat since September 12th. I attempted full liquids on Sunday morning of a cup of decaf coffee 6 oz of protein shake and 2 oz of thinned Greek yogurt. After which I was I in pain most of the day and all night long I am going back to clear liquids for a while. I have clean liquid protein drink that I may try to introduce some protein into my diet with. I am back to my pre-surgery weight at this time now.
