I was banded May 19 also. They gave me pepcid, depomedrol, emend - a chemo nausea med, and scopalamine patch to prevent nausea. I still got nauseated when I sipped on one of those protein shakes. I will stay away from those. I walked 1/4 mile today, and that was too much for me. That is about the only time I had incisional pain, otherwise, the pain is from the gas. My belly is making all kinds of growling noises. I am having trouble figuring out if I am hungry or just moving gas around. I have also noticed that I hav a lot of twitching or jerks when I fall asleep. Has anyone else had something like this?

How much walking did you do. I am trying to plan this out in my head. I am scheduled for Monday. I would appreciate any prayers. I am afraid of things that are out of my control like anesthesia and flying. - Paula

This is day 5 of my 15 days of liquids. I only get protein shakes and water. I am looking forward to the day before surgery when I can have sugar free jello and broth. I don't even get Crystal Light. I'm sure this diet hurts more than surgery! The thing that keeps me going is getting on the scale each morning and seeing the drop!

I started my pre-op liquid diet today. I am scheduled for May 19 in Kansas City with Dr. Price. I am nervous and excited. So far, this liquid diet stinks. I know it will be better in a couple days. I think I will have to get out and take a walk to get my mind off of food. The dog is on a diet too, so it will be good for both of us.

My doctor's office said that I probably wouldn't be able to eat raw carrots. Does anyone know? They also told me no Ibuprofen (Advil) because it can lead to an ulcer. I thought liquid Ibuprofen would be OK, but they told me not to. I need something for those bad headaches I get with PMS.

My band date is May 19 also. I start 2 weeks of pre-op liquids on May 4. I am excited but nervous. My brother already had this done. He really likes his.

I have Aetna, but my plan required 3 mos. of supervised diet. They want the weigh ins with the doctor. Mine required multidisciplinary diet, which meant dietician and an exercise person. I had to track my exercise. They didn't really push me much on the diet because they didn't want my BMI to go under 40. I actually gained during that time. I probably would have gained more if not in that program! After that, the approval from Aetna was less than one month! Good luck.
