As I read your post I was wondering if in my sleep I had typed this and forgot. Most of what you said sounds just like me. I had my band on 08/05/08 and 4 weeks before surgery if it wasn't chicken and tuna and water I didn't eat it, I hit the scales 1 week after surgery and had lost 25 pounds. I know that was from the preop diet. I have lost a total of 39 now but i have only had one fill in and that was in Oct too and since then I just have not had the money to go get another one. I had my band done in Mexico and the nearest fill center is 6 hours away, the one that was 2 hrs away closed down. I'm depressed, I hate chicken now, I can't bare to touch tuna anymore, I'm now addicted to sweet tea when I barely touched it before, I have started drinking cokes again, with no pain, I eat whatever I want. I need something, I just found out that my medical insurance will pay for the surgery if I would have waited 6 months the $300 dollars a month I have to pay the bank for surgery loan is more than I can just about handle with everything else. On top of it all my stomach is always sore, I can't lean up against a desk anymore or reach over the desk to get anything because its too painful, I can't sleep on my stomach unless I get in a certain spot, and now just this week i feel like i have eaten way too much and its stuck in my throat. I get hungry I eat it goes down ok but the after feeling is like it hasn't gone down and it feels that way even after sleeping all night and just drinking water. I now know why some people dont tell when they have it done, because i'm so sick of everyone asking, how much have you lost? or gosh you dont look like your loosing? Truth is I haven't been on the scales since Jan and that's just because I'm too scared to, I'm afraid I have gained weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey sorry I haven't been online in a little while. I've been busy in classes and such. Where did you get your fill at? I got a 2cc fill but I'm ready for another I can't tell a difference much and I only had lost 1 pound the last time I weighed which was after the fill in. I was disappointed to say the least especailly after 350.00 down the drain. I'm thinking about going back and having a fill in December but it will depend on the money supply. I go to weigh this Thursday to see how much I've lost this month.

has anyone gone to St. Petersburg, Florida with FILLUSA to have their first fill? I'm scheduled for Friday morning but I'm a little nervous. -
HELP, I was banded on Aug. 5th and the first week I was home I thought this was the best thing on earth. I wasn't hungry I could eat my broth and juices, Water and didn't feel pressure or pain. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the doctor left my band out!!! I can eat anything I want and never get full. Its almost like I haven't had anything done at all. What is wrong? I know I haven't over eaten and stretched my pouch, or I dont think so. I haven't been sick. When I get hungry I can eat just like I use to, or at least almost the same size portions. I dont feel like I have any restrictions at all. Some of my friends that have had it done say they can't eat much more than a table spoon or so when they moved from soft foods to regular foods but even in the hospital I could eat more than they did. My meals in the hospital were a cup of Jello, a bowl of broth, a glass of apple juice and some hot tea, I was able to eat it all at one time with no problem. How do I know if something is wrong with my band?

Who's Getting Banded in August???

I found out the hard way about FILL USA, when I called to schedule my fill last week I found that in Georgia there are only two locations that does it and they both charge $349.00 for the first visit but an additional $200.00 for the fluoro that was $200 I wasn't expecting. I'm scheduled on the 26th to have mine and I'm going to St. Petersburg, Florida where the Fluoro is free, I needed a little mini vacation anyway, lol. -
Still hungry and no restrictions

how do you get past the drinking? I can't honestly I was always such a big drinker anyway. I use to could drive up to McDonalds and get a large coke and before I could get to the next red light it was almost empty, I'm the same way about water, tea anything, just a big drinker, and I stay thirsty all the time. Like last night I ate chinese food and I ate it within reason but I had two or three sips of tea with my meal to help it get it down, I just have to. Is that so bad? If I could at least do that while I eat then I think I could get through it a little easier. -
Still hungry and no restrictions

I'm glad to know I'm not alone, but I feel awful. The one reason I had the lapband was to loose weight and not fill hungry and I understand that I haven't had my fill yet, I'm scheduled for Oct. 3rd, but I can't stay on the diet that they gave me, I never could stay on a diet that's why I chose the band instead. Now I'm wondering if I have have made the wrong choice. I cant eat without drinking, before I think about it I've taken a swallow and then I dont have the willpower to stop, it pushes it through and then i'm hungry again and i have cravings for things I use to have and of course I dont have the willpower so I end up eating it. I haven't weighed since the 14th and thats because I'm scared that I'll be gained back the 25 pounds I have lost. I just scheduled my fill today and i'm scared that when I do have it I'll still be hungry and since i'm use to eating like I am now, which is back to normal, that I'll be in worse shape than I am now. HELP. -
Please tell me this will stop soon.

Thank God LBT.com I dont know what I would do without it. I have been having the same problem. The first few days in the hospital were great then I came home, drank some chicken broth and man did it go right threw. Then I thought ok maybe its the strength so I added a little water, didn't help. When I started drinking my fruit juices, I was sure to add water to them too and it didn't help either. I was banded on 8/5 and I tried a creamy soup yesterday only to have it worse. All evening long and the first thing this am when my feet hit the floor from waking up. I can't take much more of this. I'm at work now and can't eat. -
I was banded on Aug 5th too. And I have had very little pain. I got up the next day, showered, walked most of the day, I feel great. Today has been my worst day so far. Its Monday the 11th, and I feel sluggish, its also my first day back at work. I feel sick to my stomach. I haven't had much gas really, but I burp every few minutes is that normal with anyone else? Y

Serious problems with the lap band....
yolandacrosby replied to Shauna80's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm curious to know what kind of problems you see coming in the ER. I'm scheduled for August 5th to have mine done. -
I recently signed up for the surgery and got scheduled in Mexico for Aug.5. They first told me that I had to do the pre diet for 4 weeks and I was upset because I wanted to travel with my cousin who is having it the same day and place. So they told me that if I got my BMI dow really well they would do it. My problem is I'm not sure of what I need to do to get my BMI down fast. Its at 70 right now. I weight 440 pounds and I dont like any of the protein drinks. I like the snack bars they are ok but that's about all. HELP, I'm afraid they wont do the surgery if I haven't lost enough. I have two weeks!!!!!!

yolandacrosby replied to REDGIRL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm scheduled to have the band on Aug.5th and my BMI is higher than they want so in order to still have the band on the 5th I have to reduce my BMI by a great deal. What is the best way? I can't drink those protein shakes they are awful. -

My God, I thought this is what I wanted, for weeks now that's all I have thought about and after reading some of the things on here I'm not so sure I can go through with it. Why dont they hire a personal trainer/friend/doctor for each person to keep us motivated. I NEED IT.
