Glad you checked in Apples. Hope the ice is gone in the morning. I am sweating out our roads in the morning. We are supposed to get snow over night and I gotta go about 20 miles to get my fill and I want my fill so unless it's really bad I won't cancel.
-
Julie, you can put whatever liquids you want in your checked bag. In your carry on, you are allowed 3.4 oz containers per liquid and all your liquids have to fit in a one quart ziploc bag. When you get to security you need to remove this bag and have it out to show TSA at the checkpoint. It's not just liquids it is also gels, lotions, cremes, etc. Not to worry, sounds like you are going to be amongst some pro shoppers down in FL so we can convert you. LOL Welcome, LSE!! I always wanted to be a veterianarian when I was growing up. Good job getting back on that wagon!
-
Julie, your confirmation number wouldn't have changed, it will be the same as when you booked the reservation so just use that one when you call or go online to look at your changes. You should be able to go to Delta's website and put in your original confirmation number and see your updated reservation. airlines tweak times and flight numbers a lot, the changes should be minor, but you never know so be sure to check it out. As for bringing towels etc. I would think not. Usually when you rent one everything like that is included. Now I don't have a shopping problem! LOL Just am having fun updating my wardrobe and buying smaller sizes. And I do have about $100 left on a Ann taylor gift card I got for Christmas that I am saving for FL.
-
I know that, I just meant I wonder where on her drive she is. Hopefully it's getting warmer and warmer for her as she gets further and further south.

Goodness, this is a quiet place today, I guess we know who our chatter is with Apples gone the board is quiet! LOL (just joking Apples). I can't wait to see you! Jewel, enjoy your dinner tonight. Relax, stress isn't good for your band, it tightens many people up. Just focus focus and focus on your bite size and chewing. Usually what will get me into trouble is not paying attention to bite size and chewing when I am nervous and talking to others. I love to go out to eat and have gone out to eat since right after surgery as soon as I got mushies I went out for refried beans. LOL Linda, I so wish you were coming too. I was hoping and hoping that they'd let you off work. I relate a lot to you and couldn't wait to meet you in person. Janet, sorry you have to go to a funeral. I think when I checked out the prices to have Nick do my hair you could pay less for him to suggest it as well and have someone else cut and style it as well. I always thought when I hit goal it's something I'd want to do, well here I am and never did. I also said I would go to New York City on a shopping spree. Guess I am doing enough shopping around here. LOL But I plan on doing some damage to the credit card in FL! I can't wait to see a Loft outlet, we don't have that one here. I wonder if we took our expired coach coupons to coach in mass and the saw how much business they just might do if they honored them if they would. LOL Can't wait to meet you face to face! Wonder where Apples is?
-
Good morning lovelies!! Well Apples should be well on her way, praying she has good roads and is out of snow, cold and ice real soon and has her arms around that son of her's in no time. I am going to take Grandma out again today since I have a free day and she's game for it. Wouldn't you know it, I got a Coach coupon in my email today, was all set to print it and maybe a few extra copies for our meet in FL and it expires on Jan 31st so I am hoping I get another one after that. If so I will print extra copies. Going out tonight as well, DH & I are going to our favorite Mexican place. I eat the innards of 1/2 a burrito and usually am just fine, however, lately I am eating too much. Not gaining though but I am so afraid it will catch me in the butt litterally. I have a fill appt tomorrow. I don't like feeling this hungry and more out of control. I still am about 4 ccs lower than I was before my knee surgery and don't want to go as tight am thinking about half way. Laura, can't wait to meet you! Eva, you too of course, I take teh Centrum Silvers as well. Not the greatest but they seem to be doing well for me. I do the chewables as well in the morning and then eat and it helps with the taste.

It's Allie's turn for plastics!
Great2BThin replied to allielee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Allie you are looking and sounding great. Are you glad you did the PS?? I can't wait to see more pics of the thigh lift after you heal more. So sounds like thigh surgery is less painful but more difficult recovery? I will have to get some of that mederma and try it on my knee scars. -
I love what not to wear and would love to be on that show. I must be watching reruns as Nick is always on there, what time and day are the new ones on? I can't believe he's not on. I remember when I first watched Clinton wasn't on either and it was another guy with really long curly hair. When I lived in DE I even checked into going up to NYC to get a make over/hair by Nick. Do you know what he charged? $500!!! Julie, dont' be thinking I am too stylish. I love Ann Taylor Loft because it is more casual. I love that style but don't get all my clothes there but do get a lot. But I also just got some $4 blouses on sale at Penneys. I am all over the board. I am glad you are changing your mind about shopping. I think the best thing to do would be have a central meeting spot. That way the diehards can shop til they drop and we may all drop at different times and we just meet there and have a drink/water whatever and people watch. OK FL gals, are you bringing bathing suits? Do I bring capris or long pants? Sandals? Guess I need to watch the weather. I am so excited. DH & I just decided tonight that we are going to fly to SLC for Fri night til Sat. afternoon and just drive around and see how it looks etc. and see if we can get a feel for housing prices, areas etc. Yes we've lived there twice before but not sure we'd go back to the same area or not and we wanted to do our research before DH said yes or no on the position if he gets it for sure. So that makes 3 airplane trips for me in one month. I haven't gone on a plane since May last year and now 3, to SLC, FL and then our Isreal vacation. In the past I'd be so panicked about the seat belt and the dreaded middle seat and now it's not even an issue. I just might have to donate my seatbelt extender back to the airline. LOL Well here I am up again because I can't sleep. Leg/knee is really hurting tonight. I am so bummed as I had 2 days of pain free and no pills or anything and now since therapy yesteday it's bugging me. I took 2 vicodin and am waiting for them to kick in to go back to bed. Apples, have a safe drive. Going to miss hearing from you for a few days on here.
-
Ahhh, Apples I think it's meant to be. Cocoa needs you! At least that sounds like a good name for a chocolate lab.
-
Julie, don't worry about all the shopping, there's something there for everyone. There was Lane Bryant outlets too if you need those sizes and there is a food court we could use as our central meeting spot. We could go our seperate ways to go to stores we want to and sit and rest there if needed. I have 2 new knees so I might be on that bench with you. We shall see. No need to walk more than you can. There's something for everyone.

Orlando Premium Outlets Premium Outlets has great reviews online and says it's most convenient to Disney. It is 12 miles from our condo. I have printed a map of the stores to bring along. It has also Jones NY I remember Apples saying she was a fan of them. Directions to Prime Outlets - Orlando, Discount Shopping near Orlando and Central Florida Area Prime outlet used to be Belz and recently remodeled and added lots of new stores it is 19 miles, has those same stores I mentioned and has a Saks and Neiman Marcus outlet. I have printed a map of it as well to bring along. Homework done Apples, do I get an A??

About eating the more to lose thing. Though I said I didn't buy into it, I do buy into the mixing it up idea that Apples mentioned. I averaged about 900 calories a day but some days usually a weekend day I'd go over 1200 and maybe another I'd be less. Also vaired my exercise a little bit.
-
Okay just got done looking at other outlet malls in Orlando. Have no idea if they are close but Prime Outlets at 4951 Int'l Drv has both Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft and Coach as does Premier Outlets at 8200 Vineland Ave.
-
Apples, you are certainly a dear for understanding! I can't wait. Though I think if I bought another Coach purse DH just might divorce me! LOL Though he's getting an awesome bonus, I do deserve it. LOL I say get the 2nd dog, we had an older dog once that was so used to being the only one. She had a little difficulty at first getting used to a puppy around but it ended up being the best thing for her. It younged her up quite a bit as she would play and play again and they were best buds. She was in charge and the new dog knew it. Since then I've always had 2 and they do keep each other good company, etc. Linda, sorry you can't make it for sure. I was so hoping there was that chance. Bummer! As for the not eating enough, I have never bought into that theory. SUre it may make sense in the short term, but if that were the case, how would anyone on earth every starve to death? Eventually the body has to kick in and drop some more pounds. I know that that is not the popular opinion out there though. I always kept my calories in about that range as well. Well I am soooooooo tired from being awake half the night, just think I might try a nap, just hope it doesn't mess me up tonight. My knee hurt a lot in the night too and I really let the therapist push it yesterday as I wanted to see what it would do, think I over did it a tad.
-
I was checking the outlets too, the Buena Vista one has no Ann Taylor! Oh no! LOL Hence, my problem, Apples, I can't make a reservation. I show up at the airport and get on at the last minute in any empty seats. I will plan on taking the all night option as of now and let you know if that changes. I would get in then at 830 if all goes according to plan. But why don't you plan more on picking me up later in the morning that way if there's a glitch I have a cushion. This is the one thing I hate about travelling free on my flight benefits, making arrangements with other people. Also if you can give me the web site or address and name of the place I can look into taking a cab or something too. Don't want to be a huge bother with my loose ends. I know the link was posted by Laura awhile ago, just not sure how far back to go to find it.

Good morning! A sleepless night for me. Last I looked at the clock it was 330am. then at 730 the phone rang and it was DH calling from Atlanta, he got the time change mixed up but also normally I am up at that time. Today I am going up to the rec center to do some of my therapy exercises then lunch with a friend. After that I might need a nap. Had therapy yesterday and my most recent knee replacement knee has now surpassed the first one. I can bend it almost 10 degrees further and w/o pain the other one still hurts if I go any further. Weird. However, the 1st one was also in worse shape before surgery. I just have one more therapy session and I am all done. Can almost do stairs normally. Apples, okay twist my arm and make me shop. I still have your cell number in my phone from our S. Dakota meeting. If I can't email you I will call you with my plans. If I take the early arrival flight I can wait a little for you at the airport too. Oh almost forgot, guess the counselling session for DD and DF with the Pastor went well yesterday. They are kindda taking a break from one another for the week. DF told her he totally understood if she wanted to postpone the wedding or call it off but that he loved her and would wait for her and is selling the Corvette. So we shall see. DH, DS, DD & myself are going up to Glenwood Springs just the 4 of us this weekend, DF was going to come along but he is not now. Time will tell.

Just back from my day with Grandma. Goodness she wanted to keep on going and going today. Glad she was feeling up to it though. We went to Walmart, Golden Corral for the buffet lunch, then Penneys and a shoe store. Then she wanted me to come up to her apartment (I had to carry packages anyway) and kept finding reasons for me not to leave. LOL I stayed til almost 5. Well DD & DF are at the Pastor's as I type, I wish I was a mouse in the corner, am anxious to hear how it went. RE: food in restaurants. I sortta feel for these restaurants though getting sued for having inaccurate calorie counts. I for one like knowing about what it is supposed to be but use it as a guideline. To me it's better than no info at all, but if folks sue and win then even that will go away. Sure in an ideal world the info should be exact, but to think of the turnover that restaurants must have in cooks, and how they get busy in busy times I can also see how it could easily vary from dish to dish. Once when ordering a WW entree at Applebees, I wanted to substitute something on the dish, they wouldn't let me. The waitress said all that food came in prepackaged and they had to serve it as is due to lawsuits in the amount of calories. Laura, glad your battery is all fixed. it's weird how we've all had the virus. Linda, hope your first day at work was okay. Always mean to ask, who is the other person in your pic on your profile? Janet, sounds like an interesting book. I sometimes battle with still wanting to eat when I am full.

Thanks Apples, I was unsure if I should be so bold as to ask about those bras or not. Don't let them freeze hanging from your mirror! LOL I so totally agree about Brett and the sports 'heros'. Thing is I was a huge Brett fan back in the day, more so a Packer fan but he really made them a great team for awhile and then it all seemed to go to his head. You see so many of the greats just not able to gracefully walk away from the game when it's time. Look at Michael Jordan back in the day he did sortta the same thing, retired, went to baseball, unretired, retired again, came back to another team, etc. Guess all the fame, money and notoriety must be hard to give up. Well better go dry my hair and get ready for thearpy.
-
Sorry about your weather Apples. All I can see out my front window is sunny blue sky and those beautiful Rocky Mountains! Oh and in my previous novel I forgot my commentary on the VKings and Brett. I knew I shouldn't have rooted for him!! All those years at the Packers, he would always try and be the hero and threw so many interceptions to lose games in the end. His final play with the Packers in fact to get them to either the next level of the playoffs or to the Super Bowl was the exact same an interception that lost them the game. And he lost the 2nd Superbowl he was in to the Broncos which DH still rubs in to this day with an interception too. GOOD RIDDANCE! Wonder if we will have to listen all off season again about if he is coming back? He just needs to go away! Okay I am done. LOL I am now rooting for the Colts.

Good morning!! What beautiful scarves, Deb. I too used to travel the craft show junket and have a booth. DH carved Santas and fish and we sold those, but it was also during the time the 'country' look was so in and we did a lot of the cut out painted wood things in those ever so lovely colors of mauve & blue or peache and green, etc. We made a lot of money doing it but not enough to support ourselves and I couldn't carve which was really our niche in the shows and DH was burning out working full time and carving, so we gave it up. Have thought of it in retirement years however. DH has moved on to more art type carvings and has entered some wood carving shows and even won some ribbons. These had to be so realistic and even one of the judges was a marine biologist. one of his carvings didn't place because it didn't have a 'poop shoot'. LOL He loved the fish and said it was one of the best but because it didn't have a poop shoot it couldn't win. Plan for the day is therapy and then pick up Grandma for our usual Monday Walmart shopping trip and then Golden Corral buffet for lunch. I have learned to take her to buffets for lunch. If we go to a restaurant she will only order a cup of soup if I am paying as she doesn't want to order anything that costs anything. And if she pays, she does the same as she is how shall I say very thrifty! LOL We are all concerned with her eating so this way at least once a week she eats good because of course at a buffet she will make sure she gets her money's worth. LOL DS joins us sometimes if he is off because he's always in for a good buffet. LOL She's funny as she is always concerned I am not getting my money's worth as I don't eat much of course with my band. LOL As much work as it is to be pretty much her principal caregiver, I am goign to miss her if we move. My sisters will be in for a shock as to how much I really do do when it falls on them. Shopping, Dr, RX's, banking, dentist, eye glasses, taxes, etc. BUt I am learning to cherish this time I have with her and since her short term memory is so bad but the long term is like yesterday I ask her a lot about how things were back in the day. I mean really when you think of the changes she has seen in her lifetime, she was born in 1909, when she was born she knew people that actually fought in the civil war she was just a little girl and they were very old men but still its amazing. Not sure where DD and her fiance are, they are going to meet with the pastor and discuss some of the issues during their premarital counselliing. I have really mixed feelings on it and I can't explain them and am driving DH nuts. All the warning signs are signallying danger run from this guy. But my gut tells me he is really a good guy and I really like him and htat is so strange. I have never liked a guy she has dated before and always felt she could do better. For some reason this one feels right even though there's all these red flags. I think he genuinely adores her and is trying to change to please her, but can he really? That is the big question. They can't be on such opposite sides of the fence when it comes to finances and possessions and have years of fighting about money either. Apples, I will see what I can come up with photos. Good idea. Any chance you still have those 36D bras? I didn't want to say anything as you already gave me those capris, but if you never got any takers, I'd love to give one a try. That is the size they measured me as at Victoria's when I got 2 new bras. Even if I could just try one out and see how I liked it before spending the money on one?? Well my worries are solved about wondering if I should tell my folks I am in Orlando. They are going on a cruise on teh 13th. I asked if they wanted to meet before that as I would be coming on the 11th and well they are just too busy. SHEESH!! My DD called it, she said they'd say that. She was so hurt when she was a senior in HS she was in a club at school called HOSA which was for folks contemplating a health career (obviously she changed her mind) but she won something in state and got to go to nat'ls in Orlando. She was so excited to see Grandma and Grandpa when she went there, and they told her they were too busy to come see her. That was a defining moment for her too as now she really could care less to see her grandparents when they come, they hurt her so much. My parents are the least busy retirees I know, unless you count their time spent in their recliners in front of the TV. well gosh it seems I am writing a novel this morning. LOL I had a great nights sleep, no pain last night and not even a pain pill. My knee has really taken a turn for the better the past 2 days, it's like suddenly it decided to get better. Now we shall see how it feels after therapy, i already took one vicodin to prepare.
-
I vote for the Moonfish place, sounds unique and different. did I miss a post or is Julie sitting around today in nothing but her birthday suit? LOL Well DD & Fiance are out at Starbucks 'talking'. Things seemed tense when he was here, but on the other hand she is working on wedding stuff, so not sure what to think.
-
Well one of my facebook friends had a great idea. Root for Brett and the Vikings cause us old farts need to stick together. Besides if he finally wins maybe he will finally go away! So go Brett & the Vikings! Besides I don't like MSY (New Orleans) either.
-
Good afternoon. Home from church and both kids came by after lunch and they are all watching football playoffs. Not as fun when you don't have a team in it to root for. I am a major Packers fan and dH is Broncos. THis time I am more rooting against a team, the Vikings, because of Brett Favre. Janet, that's they way I am with my hair, comb and go which is why it's usually so flat. Nope not a perm gal. Maybe if I got a few shorter layers on top I could blow them dry and it would be a little 'poofier'. As for FL I would love to go out to a restaurant as a group on Sat. night. I love going out to eat, so that's always my vote, vs eating in, but will do whatever. Oh and DD was in Seattle, sorry for the airline shortcut of SEA for Seattle, old habits are hard to break from when I worked at United. We are going to MCO (Orlando) next month. LOL Janet, I have many memories of working those Gold rush days, also Silver Bonanza days and a few others through the year. By the retail store in the actual studio building they would set up this area with all the gold pieces that they were featuring in the Gold Rush shows, as well as the Special Value, they would send out invites to their biggest customers probably in the area and they'd all get to come starting at 8pm to show the show basically in person and in advance of midnight. We got a limited quantity of the TSV though so that it couldn't sell out before midnight. Linda, I am with you on having to put a bra on after a bit. Guess I am too big and droopy or something. Charlene, well if your friend thinks CO is cold at 30 degrees, she is in trouble. 30 I consider quite nice out. LOL It's average for us for the winter though we do get much colder for very short stints and much warmer as well. Deb, I used to sew but sortta lost interest in it, seems I was always fighting with the machine. Got a new one even and still did and i just lost patience and interest. Eva, glad the fill is working for you. Iam anxious for mine. Laura, hope you are feeling better soon. Jodi, hope you are feeling better soon from the stomach meds as well and all clears up for your surgery. Phyl, love the mountain pics. I know I have been so forunate to have lived most of my life by mountains. think I took them for granted for a big part of it, really missed them when I'd move away. BTW, are you still sending Suduko challenges? I've not been getting them and have sent you one. I had so many for awhile. Love that game!
-
Good evening. Hope everyone had a nice Saturday. I didn't do much. We did go to DN's HS basketball game tonight. I've been staying close to home for the most part, having stomach issues, constipation, sorry if TMI. think these pain pills are messing with me and I stopped doing the miralax every day since I wasn't having trouble any more and reducing the pain pills but guess it was too soon. Now I am having serious issues but getting better. DD is home from her business trip to SEA, just not sure if she is going to stay engaged. She's having serious 2nd thoughts over his car issue. Guess it goes beyond his car. He wants others to be impressed with his 'things'. It's an image he wants to portray, DD is so down to earth, she's not into that and is afraid he won't change and sees years of heartache and debt ahead if he doesn't. If nothing else, possibly a postponement. He says he is changing all the time then does something stupid. Linda, didn't see Oprah, I used to like her show but for some reason can't stand her anymore, that happened a few years ago for me, she just seemed to get too full of herself or something. But I am not a texter and driver. Heck I hardly text, I don't like it but many times it's the only way I can get ahold of my son. Laura, that's the thing I don't like about the bypass. It seems folks with it don't learn to eat a new way as mucha s we banders do. Their bypass works for them from day one and they seem to gradually be able to stretch it back out if they don't 'get it'. with the band we have to learn to eat smaller portions etc. as we have that restriction with us always with our fills. I hope she gets it and is able to resolve the issues that makes her eat. Maybe as some others have suggested these Beck books would be good for her. Sounds like lots of folks here are getting them. Eva, hope you fill is the one foryou. I am hoping my fill next week gets me to where I want to be as well. I am debating about asking for 2cc's myself. I was at 11 before and it was too much for maintainance I think 2 will put me at 10 I think but I need to find out. Maybe 1.5. Janet, can you just move out DN's stuff if he doesn't?? Is he living there w/o power? Arlene, missed ya today. Apples, be careful on those roads. But glad you got your hair done. I go next week, the day after my fill. I am trying to decide what to do with my hair. DH doesn't really like it, says it's too flat. I hate messing with my hair and am not sure what to help that. Any suggestions? I liked your hairdo.

Oh Julie, hugs!!! No need at all to defend yourself. Different strokes for different folks!! I even said in my post that it wasn't for me and I admire those that can do it. I didn't mean it as a slight at all. And if my DD was in a similar situation, you bet I'd step in and help out. What I was more referring to was my DD's current situation. Her fiance wants to have all these expensive cars (Corvettes) and DD to work after kids and she said something what about all we'd spendon daycare? his response, that is what grandparents are for. I don't want to be a taken for granted day care provider but I do want very much to baby sit and be a huge part of their lives. It all depends on the situation. How lucky for Mimi to have you in her life!
