Good morning! Slept like a log last night and didn't want to get up at 730 even but I have to be up and dressed as Directv is coming between 8 and 12. Of course, now that I am up they won't come til noon, had I lounged in bed they'd have been here at 8am sharp. DH will be glad to have his TV back, I really haven't missed it, yet I don't watch much other than Biggest Loser and that's over with. However, am interested in seeing Jillian Michaels show Losing It, anyone watch it? I will give the nosey neighbor a chance, it might just be her way and she could be really nice, time will tell. If not, oh well. No, Jodi, no cakes, cookies or casseroles, yet anyway. LOL one can always hope for some. LOL I did meet my next door neighbor and he is a vetrenarian so maybe my dogs can have a hook up. LOL He also teaches concealed weapon classes. I have a Dentist across the street I've been told but haven't met him yet. Behind me the house one house is just about ready to move in and the other lot is vacant still, no house on it. Wish it would stay that way as I have lovely views there. I do think I might need a shopping break, will see what time Directv comes and waht time DH comes home from work. He plans on coming home early so we can take the car in for an estimate on the hail damage from last week. we are concerned they will total the car and it's totally driveable, just all pitted up and broken mirrors. Janet, so whatcha getting with the coupons?? Wish we were closer to shop together! Cheri, the pen was a nice gesture, sorry you don't like it. I'd love a nice pen like that, I'm forever looking for one that works. I have tons of pens but when I need one they don't write. Eva, you might retire soon?? JOdi, upstairs I am down to those boxes I don't know what to do with. Closet space is a little lacking in this house. What to do?? LOL I stacked my new washer and dryer to make some storage space in the laundry room. Judy, congrats on the part! Arlene, hang in there you are doing so well and the scale will move again. Joyce, wish you were close to give me some pointers on my yard and garden. We have a blank slate aka dirt and weed patch right now.

Good evening. Got lots and lots of unpacking done today, almost no boxes left in the upstairs anyway. Oodles of them downstairs. It's almost beginning to look like a home, though I have lots of stuff sitting around looking for a home. Feeling a little better tonight, both kids have been good about calling me today and checking in to see how I am doing. That was sweet of them. Is Julie gone some place? I must've missed something while I was away during my move but I've not seen a post from her and seen a few inquiring about her. Apples, are you at the lake? I hope the extractions went okay. You are one brave woman to go through that, and that smile is going to be beautiful! Met some neighbors today, one seemed really nosey. LOL And the type to put others down. She commented on how no one wanted our lot as it's a pie shape and how we should've gotten a good deal as our house has sat here forever, and how small it was. SHEESH! What's up with that? It's not much smaller than her's and perfect for us. And she was questioning where we are putting our fence why it's so far back from the front of the house. What's it to her? She seemed nice, but I had a hard time dealing with her comments.

Good morning! The 2nd moving van arrived bright and early at 7am and was gone by 8, we had so few things on that truck but it is nice to have it all or so we think. I can't find my pants! Seriously a whole wardrobe box of all my jeans, dress slacks etc. is missing or DH combined them with his so I am off to scour his closet to be sure before I call the moving company. Got my capri pants and the ones I had packed in a suitcase for the journey so at least I have something to wear. Having a tough morning, as DH left for work as soon as the moving van left so it's my first time all alone in the new place. ON the one hand I am enjoying the peace and quiet but on the other am feeling all alone and missing Denver. Jodi, your place at Fire Island sounds wonderful Those will be memories Dassi will cherish. When I was growing up my grandparents had cottages in northern Wisconsin. We went almost every weekend, I cherish those memories. Similar for DH he went to his grandparents farm every summer and those are his favorite memories. For my kids it's our weekends camping. Eva, you sound very busy. Glad you checked in though. If you and Janet make a shopping weekend trip, let me know I might be able to swing a meet! I'm not that far now.

Thanks Phyl, they seemed pretty sure it was gall bladder related but also said it was unusual because she is so young and so thin. I had my gall bladder out right after my lap band but I never got the really bad attacks, just full of stones. Oh she said something 3 F's of gall bladder: female, fat & forty that if you have all 3 it's pretty likely to be gall bladder.
-
Yesterday, Phyl, today is my turn. My DD called and she's at the ER having chest pains and side pains she called it. They think she had a gall bladder attack. Ran some tests and are taking a 'wait and see' approach since it was her first one and she's so young and skinny, does that make sense, nurses???

Ahh thanks Apples for the 'Bandiversary' song this morning. Happy Bandiversary to you too! After all we first met on the June '08 boards. I can't believe that 2 yrs ago I was looking at surgery and reached goal weight in a year and have now been maintaining for the most part (if I don't count this past month's gain) for a year. Truly the best thing I've ever done, that and my knee replacements and I am a new woman! today however, I am very sad and can't stop crying. The reality of the move has hit me. Took my son to the airport this morning and keep running to the bathroom to have a cry fest, I'm trying not to cry in front of DH. He feels bad for me and that it's his fault or he was selfish in taking this promotion. I keep reassuring him that I support him but just the process is hard. I am glad he said he couldn't travel this week and is in town as if he was gone too I'd be having a real tough time. The rest of our furniture is arriving tomorrow morning at 7am YIKES! I've been so tired since getting here think I am catching up on some sleep or something. DH has installed closet organizers for me to get my clothes unpacked and some kitchen cabinet organizers so in a day or two it will be much more settled in looking around here. Cheri, I ahd to go back and look at the pics I missed after reading all the comments, you look great! Same height as me! Phyl, hope DS follows through on his medical care. Arlene, congrats on maintaining! You are doing so well.

Good morning from Utah! I have arrived and am in my new house. Last night was our 2nd night spent in it. I have a huge mess. Boxes and paper everywhere. DD & her DH left yesterday and it was the hardest thing saying good bye. I have this fear that he won't ever want to come see his in laws and therefore she won't be able to come either or something. She said he loved it out here though. He was great, he got our internet all hooked up before they left. I was able to post status updates once in awhile on FB from McD's or something like that that had free wireless. My son is still here and leaves tomorrow, then it will really hit when I am here all alone, DH goes to work and here I'll be. I love the new house though, I have most of my kitchen boxes unpacked but have stuff all over the counters etc. trying to decide the best spot for it. My bedroom is a mess as DH is building me closet organizers and is almost done but the shelves aren't in it yet and he did go into work for a few hours today. I am still worried about the house in Denver and the hail damage. DH is calling the insurance back today as we got a voice mail on Friday at our house closing and haven't been able to call back with the holiday weekend. Oh our closing and stuff here went great. We got a 10am closing on Friday and they were able to record that day so we got the keys that afternoon. Then our moving van driver asked if it would be okay if he deliverd our stuff on Sat. instead of waiting til Tues. (today). Heck yes! Otherwise we'd be sitting here waiting for stuff all weekend so it was nice to get it delivered. DD and her DH were funny, they wanted to go to Ikea for some stuff to deck out their townhome. They left with such a load to drive back with, they got bedroom furniture, office furniture, plants, pictures, lighting, etc. That stuff is just their style and it's so cheap it's great for newlyweds or folks just starting out. I am going there today to get some organization stuff for my kitchen cabinets. Weight wise, I unpacked my scale and stepped on it. NOT PRETTY!! I am cutting myself some slack this week yet but then next week, and you heard it here, I need accountablity! I WILL BE BACK ON TRACK EXERCISE AND ALL!! Haven't totally caught up on posts, but wanted to say about puppies, Love them! Was great to have my kids grow up with dogs, but the work will be mostly yours. If you don't want to go through the puppy training what about adopting about a 6mos to year old one?

Yep, apples that is it, Big Stone City. He just loves it there. Well what a day, if anything else can go worse, well I suppose it could, but we had quite the ride. A major hail storm came through, they had golf ball to baseball size hail here, my car is damaged extensively but driveable. I filed a claim and we can get it fixed in UT. I was not at home, I met a friend for a good bye lunch so had that car with me (the new one thank goodness). Also, the hail pulled down some of our rain spouts and is flooding our backyard and window wells. Our insurance says since the relo company closed with us today it's not their responsibilty. I am so afraid of the litagation on this and who's responsible or the buyer suing for tons of repairs that don't exist, etc. It happened after we talked to the relo company, so need to find out exactly when we closed, they were to wire the money to our account and it's not there yet so maybe it's not recorded and it is our insurance, who knows. Thank goodness on my car I just changed the deductible to only $100! The movers cars got damaged as well and they got a little behind but plan on being out of here by 530 tomorrow. So we will drive into the night to UT and we got word tonight of our final approval and should close on Friday so that was the bright spot to an otherwise very difficult day. If you want to see some pics of the hail you can go to www.9news.com they had to use snow plows to clear the roads. Luckily I was in my 4WD coming home as many cars were getting stuck and high centering on it.

Just had to post quick and say to Apples, my moving van driver is talking about the beautiful country he lives in. Come to find out he lives 45 min. from Watertown SD in MN in a place called Stone Park City or something like that? He's telling us how wonderful MN is!

It's really happening moving van is just pulling up. :smile2:

I am home from the day with Grandma, it went real well. DH even met us for lunch, and yes we went to the buffet! LOL I even decided to treat myself to dessert today and was going to make myself a brownie sundae and wouldn't you know it the ice cream machine was out of vanilla and I hate chocolate ice cream so VOILA no dessert! Saved by the ice cream dispenser. LOL Apples, I can so relate to family issues. I had one of those mornings with DH venting about mine this morning, vent, get ticked, shed a few tears and then I am okay. G'ma will be good, she is on a home health type plan and they take her to the center for doc visits, deliver, RX's etc. She was asking when I am coming back today and I had a hard time committing to a date so tried to be vague. I plan on coming back often, but this first one just not so sure how soon as I want to get settled in there as well. Tree Update, new $230 tree is planted. GRRRRRRR
-
Good morning! Today is my last 'normal' day in Colorado. Tomorrow the packers pack us up so the computer will be disconnected. I am taking Grandma out today, I am thinking that will be a challenge for both of us as it will be the last time I see her before moving. I plan on coming back often to see her but it won't be the same to her. I am so upset with my HOA (remember I worked for them at the rec center). I found out from my friend that I worked with (and that went to Hawaii with me) that the HOA put a $500 lein or escrow on my house closing because my street tree had died, it came back from the root and is a small tree now. They just slapped this fine on me without even telling me about it. Had my friend not told me we wouldn't have found out til closing and then had issues. I think I was at least owed the courtesy of being notified! I am not asking for special favors or considerations as an employee but just don't do stuff like that behind someones back! GRRRR So now with a million things to do already, we have to go tree shopping and plant a tree TODAY! Meredith, so happy to see you! Post more often! Melissa, congrats on becoming an aunt! Janet, hope your day at work is quieter with bossman gone! Apples, I bet all the flowers look beautiful!

Just got home from a day in Salt Lake. We left on a 6am flight this morning and got home at 8pm tonight. We had a walk through on our house with the builder. It's really going to be our's in a few days. We had 88 degrees here this weekend, must be the warmth Apples has today. SOOOO..... I left this morning in a summery shirt, khaki pants and sandals, I stepped off the plane in SLC to SNOW!!! It is the latest snowfall on record for SLC and I got to experience it. I was so cold, we ran into a Walmart by the house and I bought a cheap jacket on clearance for $4! If I never wear it again, it was worth the $4! I tried skimming the posts but no time to read and respond like I'd like. But I would like to say: Jewel, CONGRATS on 50!! PJ, WELCOME BACK! I hope you stay around!

Oh, no I go to the buffet once a week! LOL But this Tues. is my last time. I take Grandma to Golden Corral every week. Funny how we started going there, I think the place makes lots of money on us. See when I take Grandma to lunch she will only order soup or the cheapest thing on the menu because if I am paying she feels she is doing me a favor and if she is paying, well how shall I say, she is very frugal. LOL But I discovered if I took her to the buffet, then she feels she has to eat because we paid for it. I, and the rest of the family, were starting to get very concerned with how she eats 'to save money'. So at least once a week I was taking her to the buffet and she ate a variety of foods. HOwever she still eats like a bird, and then there's my lapband patient portion sizes. It's actually kindda funny, we are probably the only 2 people in there who don't go back for 2nds and don't even fill our 1st plate up. Well today is a get the house ready to move day. DH is getting stuff out of the crawl space and off walls that the packers don't do. I am cleaning a little but will save most for that as the packers empty rooms on Wed. DH is also taking a load of stuff to the dump. I am trying to hold it all together. This afternoon is a hair appt and tonight a graduation party. Joyce, I, also, eat very few carbs. Rarely do I have potatoes or never any other white starches. I kept my protein about 70 gms and calories varied from 700 to 1200. Hope that helps and 1/2 cup portions, though I can eat up to a cup. Apples, miss you when you are at the lake, hopefully you are reading this and I wanted to thank you again for the bras. Every day I try a new one. I love the Mystere ones and also the "Leading Lady" who makes that one??

Good evenings, well the good byes have begun and it's hard. Tonight DSIL & DBIL took us out to dinner and said good bye. It's gonna be a tough week. Janet, thanks for the vitamin help, I did see where you said B was expensive. I don't need B12, I need B1, I plan on vitamin shopping tomorrow. And will also ask how much my RX's are. Ive been very inconsistent on taking my vitamins ever since my knee surgeries. They made me stop taking so much due to being on coumadin for surgeries and then I just got lax. I seriously need to get back to basics on vitamins, exercise and meals. Everything is very eratic right now and no consisentcy. My plan for that is big time change when I get moved in. Judy, glad OA is working for you. We all need to do and find what works best for us. Laura, enjoy the lunch date tomorrow.

All done with my filling in as church sec'y. It was actually kindda fun. I left by 1 on a couple of the days. I know I posted a long post yesterday and then asked a question at the end. So I'll ask again. I was told I was deficient in Vit b1 and D. I know they said one of them caused troubles with sleeping, does anyone know which one? And also they gave me an RX for both, but if the RX's are costly are the over the counter vitamins just as good if I get the same dosage?? Thanks to anyone that might know. Well the moving van folks called today to confirm our dates for next week. They arrive 8am Wed to pack us up. Mortgage company hasn't asked for anything new today. Whew! Am sure they are saving something for the last minute though, just for kicks. LOL

Good evening. Today got of to a crappy (pardon my english) start. First got a call from my surgeon's office. I saw him a month ago. He ordered an upper GI to check my band and some labwork. I went on vacation, etc. I did miss one phone call and called back but hadn't heard anything since then. Well today I get a call and seems my band or rather my pouch is a tad dialated. They think I was a tad too tight, I didn't feel too tight, no reflux or anything. She also thought it could be from 'pushing the limits' of my band. To be honest it's probably that. She said they see it a lot in folks who are a ways out from surgery, getting complacent, pushing the limits etc. I am to measure my food at least once a week so I never forget what a portion looks like and since I am moving, she suggested I get a tad taken out of my band to be safe, which I did today. She said it was nothing to be alarmed about and if I follow the rules and with this unfill it should go back down to normal. Then, I got a call from the mortgage company, we got our 'conditional approval' on the new home mortgage. They had 9 conditions on there! GRRR Stupid stuff. One thing showed on our credit report as an inquiry in April from our credit union. We had to issue a statement what it was. Well DUH it also shows the next day at said credit union that we got a car loan, it's reported on the said credit report even, but we had to tell them that as well. Also, they have a photo copy of the earnest money check on the new home, but they wanted a copy of the cancelled check, it's a cashiers check! It's guarenteed funds, they have my bank statement showing my balance, but no not good enough, I need something from the bank taht shows that amount of money going out to a cashiers check that day. Such stupid petty stuff. Our credit ratings are in the excellent category, we are putting over 50%down, we have the assets and yet still this. And of course they want it now. Linda, we just went to a notary and did all that on the papers for this house. They said we forgot to include a page when we sent it back. I insisted we didn't. They discovered eventually, they never sent it. At least DH is home now and can help me destress. I gotta get back to lapband 101 basics and get things under control. If I can keep it together for another week, I vow to be the perfect bander when I get to UT. Oh another thing on my blood tests, I am deficient in vitamin B1 and D. I can't remember but one of them can cause sleeping difficulties. That explains part of that. I never in my life have had trouble sleeping until lately. So she gave me RX's for both of them, one I only take once a week. Will check the prices of the RX's though vs over the counter. Wouldn't vitamins be vitamins or is there an advantage to an RX one??
-
Apples, enjoy your weekend at the lake, like I know you will! Janet, hope the title issue gets worked out quickly. Is it perhaps time for a new trainer?? DH comes home today! This was his last trip out of town til after we move. We both go on Monday for the day to SLC for the walk through on our house and that's it. Will be nice to have him home for a whole week. I don't stress as much when he's around either so that should help me on the food issues I've been having too! I even baked cookies, what the heck was I thinking? My kids were shocked that I baked, first time in ages.
-
Linda, Bass Pro sells some very nice oversized cots that are like regular height. We have taken up to a lot of tent camping lately and one of my conditions was this premium cot. DH gave me a bad time at first, til he tried it out and bought one too! LOL Just a thought if you love tent camping
-
Rose was my favorite Golden Girl! Well I got the mortgage company all they asked for and now they say they have 'conditional' approval. So am waiting to see what the conditions are and what hoops I have to jump through next. The moving van rep just left and took inventory of all our stuff and made a box count and are set up to come pack us up and move us out next week. Now if the house stuff would all go through as planned we will be in good shape. Was a very long boring day at the church office. I shouldn't have been so efficient on Monday! LOL But there promises to be some stuff for me tomorrow. Laura, so glad your dad is doing better. HOpe he is able to start getting out a little bit now.
-
Good morning. I am up early this morning and ready for my stint at the church office today. Looks like a gorgeous day, we had tornadoes near by last night. I am so frustrated with these mortgage, realtors, relo folks I am about to go nuts. First on the mortgage for the new house. WE are putting over 50% down, closer to 75%, have credit ratings way up there, DH has been with his company 33 yrs. Good credit risks, no??? We sent them all their paper work like W2's, bank statements, etc. now they call last night at the last minute and wanted 25 more pages of stuff! GRRRRRR Last time we got a home loan we ran into the same crap. Seems the loans we want to get are too small, we have too good of credit so they can't charge us an outrageous interest rate, so they really don't want our business and make us jump through hoops. It's very hard for me to have sympathy for these banks now after all the bad loans they have given. They don't want to work with the good ones! When I sent our bank statements I just sent the first page that showed the balance in our accounts. Oh no that wasn't good enough, if it said 1 of 5 pages, they wanted all 5 pages, even the page that said 'this page intentionally left blank' and the page that explains how to balance a checkbook. What the heck?? DH is out of town, I have no fax machine access. I ended up going to the rec center where I used to work and asked to use theirs and they let me. Oh and I am supposed to sign some paper they fed ex'd me. Huh? What Fed ex? Have not gotten one. Then there's the closing papers on this house. On Monday we got those, took them to the bank and sat there forever signing and having notarized. Until we got to the last page, it made no sense. So I called on it yesterday morning, they said don't worry about that page (it said it must be filled out in it's entirety I was only trying to follow instructions) just sign the back page and have it notarized. What back page?? Seems they forgot to include it. So they said they'd just email it and we should just sign and notarzie. Hello! DH is now out of town til Thurs. So this paper may hold up this closing and the others may hold up the new house closing. And I am powerless in it all it's all out of my control and totally not our fault. DH is gone, so I just stress out here by myself and will confess dealt with it with a bag of Fritos! That makes me even madder, mostly at myself. The scale is up 5 lbs this morning too. GRRRRRRR Okay vent over. It's probably good that I have to put in these hours at church to keep me distracted. Today I am taking the phone numbers of all the utilites etc. so I can call and disconnect those for next Friday. That brings up my worst trait: worrying and control freak which reveals my impatience. Apples, DH has had that same conversation with me about others driving and not honking or 'waving' at them. Phyl, well enjoy 'your' gym, I am sure they will want you to pay them one day in the meantime you've tried. Janet, your trainer must be young, one day he will understand.
-
Oh yeah, Grandma has days like that. It just takes more patience on those days. And I know she is very concerned about my moving away because I do so much. When she has stuff like that on her mind she gets very flustered and well just out of sorts. She can't take in much at a time, and needs time to process things. Plus I think she had not so good a conversation with my mom this morning. She said she got in trouble by my mom. LOL Also, I am having a hard time in dealing with leaving her and my kids as well. It doesn't help that I got very little sleep last night and DH is out of town so I have lots of time to think on things! LOL Julie, hope you are feeling better. Jewel, bummer on the tendon. Isn't it amazing how now we see something like that as a set back vs before as a good excuse? Proves you are changing your lifestyle!
-
Back from Grandma's. Feeling kindda down. It was one of those 'high patience days'. She was so negative about everything and hard to please. I think she is just having a hard time with my leaving and dealing with that. That being said she wanted to just go home early, I'm like we have limited time why not make the most of it? She was just out of it of sorts. But glad to have gotten the time to spend with her. Let's see, best traits. This is hard for me. I was raised that if you thought anything positive of yourself that it was conceited. I am loyal and a pleaser and determined however that can also be stubborn and work against me! LOL

First, thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday, they meant a lot. My birthday is one that gets missed a lot for some reason, but even my MIL called me yesterday! I did go out for lobster last night and I ate the whole thing. I was amazed and a little scared by how much I could really eat last night, I had my whole lobster, half a potato and then ice cream on the way home. And unfortunately, I love my lobster dripping in butter. Good thing birthdays come only once a year! No guilt, enjoyed it, and today is a new day. Today I am hopefully meeting Grandma to take her shopping and to lunch. We only have this week and next before I am gone. But she scheduled a dr appt this morning so the plan is for me to pick her up when she is done. For my volunteer job at the church this week, when I go tomorrow I am going to ask them about maybe not coming in on thurs. or just for a few hours that day. I got most of the stuff done yesterday and the main thing left is the Sunday bulletins/newsletters and the pastors sermon notes which can be done mostly on Friday. Hopefully my friend that I am supposedly helping out, that is only working today gets most everything else done today. She actually asked me to work half of today too. LOL All I can say is this must be one heck of a graduation party that she is planning this weekend for her son that she can't work anymore. LOL Gotta find a Fed Ex drop off this morning, we got all the papers signed and notarized that they sent us for the closing on this house. Dang them though, they forgot one form, so they emailed it to me today, however, DH just got on an airplane for Vegas and won't be back til Thurs. to sign it. I hope it doesn't hold things up, it's not our fault! Nina, welcome. I had the band 2 yrs ago next month, in the first year I lost 126 lbs. There's been no looking back for me. I had high blood pressure and was off my medication within 2 weeks of surgery. My cholesterol has gone done and all my 'numbers' are good. Eva, you are going to know that Dallas airport well.
-
Okay, Julie, just being sure you are being careful! Just care about you and all! That's a big IF!!! Glad you are being careful and feeling so much better these past few days. I love, love, love lobster. In fact on another weight loss board that I was on for years while trying to lose weight pre band with Weight Watchers, Lobster was my screen name. I love lobsters, lighthouses and anything Maine. In fact, until recently Maine was going to be where we retired. However, I discovered, i can't live that far away from my kids and I love the west a lot too. It's been so wonderful this morning to receive so many birthday wishes. My birthday has been one for years that has just been forgotten by everyone. In fact I did get a card from my MIL this year and that is the first in years. No one in my inlaw side of the family remembers, one sister does sometimes and of course my mom does and my daughter now makes sure my husband does. LOL I posted this pic on FB of what DH got me for my bday. LOL This was in front of the Monte Carlo casino in Monaco there were so many fancy cars it was amazing
