Jewel, while I admit I don't know much about mental illnesses I do know you shouldn't stop your meds on your own. And if memory serves me right, you tried that once before. Don't mean to mother hen you at all, but just concerned. I hope you find a new doc for the one that is moving away and things get back on track for you. Congrats on nursing school!! My quiet day turned quit busy, but then again they always seem to. Just got home from Costco, lunch, pedicure and Walmart. I have all the camping groceries bought, just need to know if I am going. Wanted to get things sortta together as DH wants to get them together tonight since he will be in Phoenix for the day tomorrow (flying out in the morning and back in the evening). Laura, nope, sorry can't help on the cat, I am too allergic. Funny I think in my old age I am even more allergic. I had a severe reaction to cats a few years ago (almost hospitalized) and yesterday when we went to pick up the dogs from boarding they had a cat wandering around. In just the 10 min. or so I was in the place I could feel the wheezy feeling in my chest. It took til this morning to go away too. Dr said I could be more sensitive to one cat than another but all I know is I am very careful anymore. When we looked at homes we pretty much ruled out homes that had cats in them so as to not worry about having to rip out carpet, drapes, etc. One reason we tend to go with new construction when we buy homes. Hope you got the litter out of the bedspread. Gwen, glad your dr visit went so well. When is your first fill? 6 weeks? That is the norm, but I a few do them sooner. Did you get any fill in surgery?

Good morning, today should be a nice quiet day getting caught up at home. Got the washer already going. Think I might run out and get a pedicure on my way to or from costco as well. Need to go get camping supplies for this weekend. Am sortta waiting to do that as DS thinks this interview today may mess up our weekend camping plans. Julie, thanks for catching me up, I got sortta caught up via your post. So glad the dog is okay. Sounds like you have a plan for the wedding, be careful of your shoulder. It will be beautiful. Jodi, are your trying to convince yourself or us that things will be okay this time with this guy? Be careful, Janet may put the choke collar on you but there are lots of other mother hens here to take turns holding it! LOL Are the dates this week all with different guys? Be sure to tell us how they went. Sounds exciting and the new found confidence that is coming through in your posts is wonderful. Eva, gosh, no wonder you are anxious to retire. Your job sounds like hard work! I saw one of my sisters this weekend but didnt' even ask her about her job, though my grandma told me she was really worried. Linda, again beautiful pics even with the 'tatoo'. What did your bro say about your weight loss, was he shocked? Apples, thinking of you today.

Guess I've led a pretty sheltered life, though DH would just say I am incredibly naive. He wonders at times how I got through HS not knowing about some of the stuff that went on there (remember we graduated together). But I have experienced a lot of different places and cultures so I'm not that sheltered. LOL I can't remember if I posted earlier or not that DD was having some pelvic pain, she called the OB and guess it was nothing. He said if it got worse or there was blood to call back but it sounded like the pain she had was sortta normal? She's feeling much better tonight. Her job is incrediblyl stressful and her DH is begging her to quit. She's hanging in there for some big bonus check that is supposed to happen this summer still. DS on the otherhand has a 2nd interview for a major promotion at his job in the morning so if you can send him good luck vibes and prayers. Well it's almost 10 and I am beat, gonna go hit the sack.

    It's Allie's turn for plastics!

Glad to hear from you Allie, I was worried as one of the last times you posted it was about gaining and then you disappeared. Glad it was just because you were out enjoying that new body and bikini! Congrats! Hawaii, huh? That would be fun. I am going there next month does that count? LOL Keep up the good work.

Well that was what I was sortta thinking it had something to do with that, but then I saw it in reference to OA as well and that confused me. Yes I guess I am lucky in that regard that no one close to me has been through that, though probably a sibling could join the program. Yes Laura, we would like to try and take the Metro. We will be there 2 days, I want to go up the Eifel Tower, stop at a cafe near it, and see the Louvre though the time we have won't give it justice. I am hoping DH will have a good time and want to go back. Also, would like to stay convenient to do those things but don't want to spend a huge huge amount on a hotel. Any suggestions? We are back from picking up the dogs and they did great. That was a relief. I made reservations for them for August and also the holidays.

Guess it's later, we were on our way out the door on my last post to pick up my furbabies from boarding but DH just got a phone call and sounds like it will be awhile. I need his help to pick up 2 big dogs after a few days at the kennel, they will be way too hyper and excited for me to handle alone. The trial was very interesting and very maddening at the same time. I just don't understand how the defense attorney can defend him and how disgusting he was in his tactics. I know many of my feelings are coming from being too emotionally involved in this case, I know that everyone is entitled to a fair trial, but this is the man that had a gun to my husbands head so my heart is ruling my head on this one. DH did very well on the stand though, as much as the defense atty tried to trip him up, he didn't. He would twist DH's words so much. He even went so far as to say that they really didn't try and take DH's car because DH got out of it and the bad guys didn't take the keys or get in. DH goes, 'well I disagree' and the atty asked why? DH say's, BECAUSE I HAD A GUN TO MY HEAD'. The jury will get the case probably tomorrow. The district atty will call DH and let him know the verdict, he is charged with 9 charges, most of them felonies. Our time in Denver went fast, but we had a nice visit with both kids and did our Fantasy Football draft and had a little pizza party doing that. I am a little concerned about DD today, she stayed home from work today and was having some pain in the pelvic area, she has a call into the OB. I just pray she has no complications. Her MIL (a nurse) thinks it sounds like something to do with ligaments. I have some more travel plans in the works, Hawaii in a few weeks and I think Paris either the 2nd or 3rd weekend in Sept. and Maine (hopefully) in Oct. So the fun part of DH's job is beginning for me! I hope the dogs did well with boarding as that is going to be the toughest part. Oh, speaking of dogs, I got a new grandpuppy. DS adopted a 6 yr old Jack Russell from the shelter. It's name was Jack but he wants to call it Buddy. It really doesn't respond to anything right now. It's so cute.

First off, Apples I know they told me that my new cell phone could 'tether' to my laptop and be it's modem. Maybe that's a possibilty?? Good luck on the next tooth procedure and have a great time at the lake. Linda, great pics. I just thought you had a tatoo on your arm! LOL Well I am back in SLC after the weekend in DEN. Had a good visit. Am exhausted. I've read all the posts but just not enough time to post to all of them. did have a question though, and I hope it's not a dumb one. What are 12 steps that everyone is talking about??? Will post more about the trial etc. later.

Good evening, we are at home for a quick break in between flights and leave in the morning again. Thanks for the recap Julie. Your home looks nice, I like the green. Goodness, Janet, you wouldn't want to see my computer room right now. LOL But actually I usually am on my laptop in the family room. When my house gets all looking good I will take some pics. Oh I am so tired. We got up at 230am our time to take a 6am flight this morning. The afternoon one filled up, oh the joys of flying standby, but it's free so who am I to complain? And we have an early one in the morning so am going to bed extremely early tonight, maybe even before 9. DH needed this day at home, he was so stressed over his yard, his job, everything and tended to vent at me. Not in a mean way but he's usually so easy going and patient and well he hasn't been. He even apologized today and promised to get a better balance. He said he doesn' tknow why he gave himself such deadlines to get the yard in, it's not going anywhere. He prides himself on his yard though and it bothered him to have it looking unkempt. One month from today he has to be in Hawaii. Sooo that is a Tues. I think and we might go on our own the weekend before! WOOHOO!! These are the perks that I was looking forward to when we agreed he'd take this position. You might say I have a passion for travel.

Hotel has internet! Very slow though. Had a wonderful time on the Riverwalk, though it was so hot and muggy and I sweated way too much and I told you earlier how much I hate to sweat, reminds me of my fat out of shape days. but oh it felt so good to walk and walk and walk and not be out of breath and not have my knees hurt. I walked off those nachos I had. It was a plate of 8 nachos with beans and chicken on each chip. I ate 3 1/2 of them and DH polished off the rest, so I didn't think that was too bad of a splurge. Then we road the river boat around the whole riverwalk as well. Gwen, you will get some exercise in the form of physical therapy as well after surgery. I was on pain pills for almost 6 weeks though at the end it was only on occassion. And I always made sure I took some before therapy, I never got to have the in home therapy and had to go out for it. I came home from the hospital on Friday and was in the therapy place Monday morning. As for the stress eating times, you won't like this answer, but there's always exercise. LOL Needlework, bubble bath, etc. Arlene, hope that storm leaves you alone this time. Laura, welcome home. Julie, glad you are going to get some answers, hope that guy calls back with the reason.

Guess what, San Antonio airport has free wifi so here I am, you aren't rid of me yet! LOL I am waiting for DH to get done with whatever it is he has to do here. Then we are off for downtown and the Riverwalk and hopefully some yummy Mexican food for dinner. We shared some Raising Cains chicken fingers for lunch I ate one and a half and had a little trouble with them, they were breast meat and i always do with breast meat, guess that's why my mcnuggets are so good, who knows what's in them and again I don't want to know! LOL Gwen, are you sure you aren't me? i hate hate hate exercise. I joined a gym as soon as I moved to Salt Lake (which was just a little over a month ago) from Denver. I have millions of excuses every morning on why not to go and they all sound so convincing at the time. But I am making myself go, still not thrilled with it, but it's gradually becoming something that I am accepting I just gotta do. The first couple weeks were the hardest, it's getting a little easier and I am becoming more comfortable with it. Is it a 24 Hour fitness by chance. Also, I know I mentioned before I did the knee replacements last fall, before that I mostly did a recumbant bike for exercise as that didnt bother my knees as much or I improvised some videos. Are you having both knees done at the same time? About the sleep issues, I remember having troubles for a few weeks after surgery as well. If I remember right you are pretty newly banded, they say the anesthsia stays in your system for a bit, then there's all the other drugs they give ya. Do you prefer Gwen or Gwendolyn? We tend to shorten names up a lot on here. LOL My screen name used to be Long2BThin then when I reached goal I changed it to Great2Bthin. Julie, nope TX is nothing like the heat I am used to. My heat is more like Las Vegas or Janet and Eva's dry desert heat. I was whining yesterday when our humidity climbed all the way up to the 20% range. I just stepped off the plane to the jetway and was hit by the humidity here. UGH!! So far I am freezing though in the airport air conditioning. Good luck on your proceeding with your doc! Janet, yep we are going to have to start calling you the Rat LOL or GR for GymRat. LOL You have inspired me though! welcome PPP!!! You have found a very good place here. This is a very good place to come for support and there are lots of very successful banders here, so ask away and tell us about yourself so we can get to know you.

Also popping in to say adios until probably Tues. I may have intermittent internet. Janet,I couldn't sleep last night either, was up til after 1. I should've left the a/c on as it was so hot and muggy. Usually it cools off enough at night to do windows but not last night. Apples, add my good juju for the dentist. Can't wait to see the new smile.

Good afternoon. Congrats Arlene on the 3 lbs. I don't think you need to be too strong for Zumba, it's just cardio and you do what you can do. I have done a Zumba class a few times and that was way before I reached goal. UGH, we are hot and humid today. By humid I mean the humidity is like 20%. I am so used to dry climates that I just hate humidity. They call it mosoonal moisture or something, it keeps trying to rain but never even gets the sidewalk completely wet. Wish it would just pour and get it out of it's system. DH says it's really humid in San Antonio so I better get used to it.

Janet, thanks for that pep talk, it is just what I needed to hear. I thought I kicked the "I don't care what others think at the gym' attitude, but I don't think I have. I am so afraid of looking like an out of shape, frumpy, slob that I let it hold me back. For instance, I absolutely hate to sweat or get out of breath. Why, you ask? Because at 305 lbs I would get sweaty and out of breath walking to the corner and back or up one flight of stairs, hence sweaty and out of breath mean to me, 'you stupid out of shape whale'. Even now when I start to get sweaty I think I can't or shouldn't do any more (I do though). But no one thinks that of a 20 something year old skinny person, they think wow she worked hard. So thanks for helping me get that in my head. I will try that class in a couple weeks (it's only on Mondays and I will be gone). The SET had one of those registered trademarks symbols after it that it was a 24 Hour Fitness trademarks which is why I asked. I know she said they use a step but if that's too hard on my knees I can improvise. On the other hand the next class is Silver Sneakers, may be I could go to that one, I'm almost old enough to qualify. LOL Julie, wow, I, too, don't know what to think about that letter. Could it be an insurance issue? Maybe she was insulted that you asked to be referred on to Mayo? I'm grasping at straws here.

Drats I had this long post on my itouch and it must be floating out there in cyberspace. Apples that's wonderful news that DS is considering a move closer to home. Sending some mommy pressure vibes your way. Laura happy anniversary Janet I saw a class at the gym today called SET are you familiar with it? Just not sure I am a class person. I did 3 1/2 more minutes in the evil machine today well DH just called he will be home from Atlanta tonight and has to go to San Antonio tomorrow I am going to go with and then on to Denver for his court case in his car jacking so I may be scarce depending on Internet access

Gwendolyn, I had both my knees done last year one at a time and two months apart it was a tough recovery but so worth it in the end therapy sucks but do every bit of it you will be so glad when it's over. Yeah October might be a little soon after surgery for Vegas while not a travel agent I used to work for the airlines and dh still does

Interesting, I can see that attitude if it is a private Village owned property but a public store etc. they can take anyone's money. LOL My dad golfs a lot and he said lots of Villagers come to their course as well. I hope you can join us in Vegas, we aren't too scary. My kids are giving me a bad time because when they were younger I had strict rules about them talking to people they did not personally know on the internet and now here I go off to Vegas to meet some. LOL

Gwendolyn, I know exactly where the Villages is, my parents live in Water Oak just down the road. We go to Publix in the Villages a lot and shopping there some as well. They attend a church in the Villages too, though they have a real attitude as she says they make them feel like they don't belong because they aren't part of 'the Villages'. I don't know, think it just might be their negative attitude as well. I haven't been down to see them for quite some time and am contemplating a fall or winter visit if I can talk DH into going with me. Congrats on your new band. Shopping will become so fun! Just ask anyone on this thread, I've become quite the shopper after hating it for years. LOL I've reigned it in some now that my weight has stablized I really don't 'need' anything. You are more than welcome to meet us in Vegas. We are going the weekend of Oct 1st most of us are flying in on Fri and out on Sun but there are a few stragglers staying til Monday. Apples, welcome home. Sounds like quite the party you got planned. Do you mind sharing your sausage recipe? Sounds yummy. My lunch this afternoon was wonderful. Met a friend/neighbor from 10 yrs ago when we lived here before. We went to Cafe Rio (not sure if that is a local or national restaurant) and I had about a third of the innards of a burrito and brought the rest home for DH.

Good morning! WE are supposed to cool down to 97 today. Not much planned for today, supposed I could do some laundry, oops just got a call from a friend I am going to lunch today! Jodi, so sorry to hear about your dog, that's so hard to do. Is this friend the one you didn't want us to stay at the Monte CArlo friend? are you going to be reopening something you don't want to reopen? free show tickets are wonderful, but you are more important. Arlene, DH would never have a lawn service, he is too much a do it yourselfer. LOL In fact the company we got our sod came and sprayed it after it was he laid it complimentary and he was all miffed. He has his way of doing it, but our yard always looks good so whatever floats his boat! LOL LauraK, if I can get myself back into the exercise you can too! Getting started again is the hard part. Apples, are you back? Phyl, sounds like you have one spoiled pup! LOL Who's training who? sounds like she has you pretty trained for scooter rides. LOL

Good evening, you gals with housekeepers are lucky. I never felt I could justify it without working, but there's times I wish I could have someone just do a deep clean. but thenagain, like Janet said, it's good exercise. I do like having a smaller house now to clean though. I rarely clean the downstairs as it doesn't get used much, just dust it when someone is coming over LOL. It's mostly 'man cave' anyway and I refuse to move critters to dust. LOL Gwendolyn, welcome, your full feeling will feel different at least it did for me and you will definitely know. Hard to describe but you will know it. If you go past it, it can be painful. Congrats on your banding. Arlene, my grass is doing pretty good. Hard to keep it watered in this 100 degree dry heat. But it's surviving. We have sprinklers on timers as well and are watering twice a day. Well Apples should be back tomorrow. Welcome back Apples!

Thanks Laura, look forward to hearing all about it and the 'insider tips'. HOw nice for you that your DH knows it so well, does he speak French too? I've heard that even if they know english there, they won't speak it to Americans as they don't like us there. Probably not true but you know how those things go around. LOL Julie, I had a beagle growing up and when my kids were young. Great family dogs and great with childredn. One of our's was named Snoopy as I just loved Charlie Brown growing up. What is a walkout pool? I've not heard that term before. Is it where the pool gradually slopes as you go in? I don't think I've seen one in many hotels. I think my community pool is like that not sure as I never go to that end as it's so full of itty bitty ones. Well I went to the gym this morning, I'm getting better at just making myself go like it's a part of my day or my job. I added a minute to the 'evil' machine, not sure what it's called part stepper/part elliptical. And the weights are getting easier. Not too easy yet though. For the first time in a while it actually wasn't so hard, I was so discouraged last week as it seemed like my progress was going backwards instead of forwards, I was more encouraged today. Julie, I want to be a world traveller. LOL Travel is my passion and it's one of the reasons I supported DH for this job transfer/promotion. However, so far and it's only been 6 weeks, I've not gotten to go with him at all and when we do make plans he changes them. Just like this weekend we may not go to Mississippi as he may have to go to San Antonio instead but I will still go whereever, I am determined to go someplace! LOL
  23. I had a great NSV yesterday, went shopping, went into a normal store, GAP, and bought a T shirt a size XL but still it was a normal store!! I bought it thinking it would fit down the road and it was incentive, I've not bought something in a NORMAL store in years!! I tried it on at home and IT FIT!!!!!!!!!!! I think it's snug but my daughter, husband and friend all say no that's the way it's supposed to fit. I'm so stoked, now I want to go back and get one in every color!!!

    2 years!

My 2 years was June 5th, I lost 126 lbs my first year, maintained it my 2nd year. Then with a move, DD's wedding, etc. I did gain about 15 lbs. I am now working hard on getting those back off, not as easy as the first time. I joined the gym here, got my fill back (had to have some taken out a while back). I too struggle with the head hunger and wanting more and with still seeing myself as the fat person, hopefully my head will catch up with my body. Another thing I am cold all the time!

Good morning, quiet morning here today after such a wonderful weekend. DD is back home, and DH is leaving for Atlanta, think I will need to stay busy today. It won't be too bad though as I have the weekend to look forward to. I am accompanying DH on one of his station visits and then we are going to Denver. He has to testify Monday and Tues. about his car Jacking experience. Then we come home for a few days and then meet DS camping so busy couple weeks. DH has to go to Hawaii again next month and you bet I will be going with him there as well. It sure has been hot out, several days in a row of triple digits I feel like I am back in Las Vegas. LOL Tapeworms? UGH, I've heard of that. Can you imagine swallowing one? Linda, how's the wedding? What did DB say when he saw you? Laura, is it easy to get around in Paris? Can you take the metro from the airport downtown to the hotel? You look like you are having a grand time.
