  1. I lost so much weight that my wedding band doesn't fit anymore. Just because I stop wearing it doesn't mean I don't love my husband or that I'm less committed. I will be getting a new one at the end of the year.

Do you know you can get pallor, cyanosis, or dermatitis if you don't remove your ring once in a while? You need to understand that if your circulation become compromised it's possible to risk of losing you finger.

I personally think you shouldn't wait because you finger can be swollen for a number of other things.

Please try this, just to remove the ring for a few hours per month:

LUBRICATE. Another option is to try a soapy solution or window cleaner. If the finger is lubricated this way, immediate attempts are made to remove the ring. If it does not come off in a few tries, stop for the time since swelling of the finger will make removal more difficult until some time has passed.

COOL AND LUBRICATE. Ice Water Soak of the finger is recommended by some folks, on the theory that the finger "shrinks" a little. If so, only cool the finger for a minute or so, lubricate with soapy water or window cleaner and then try. Success using ice water is iffy and no success is assured! : )

    Good Luck!

  2. I will make an appointment with a pulmonologist to get my sleep study. Please double check with your insurance if you need a referral to a specialist.

I had my lap-band with Connecticut Surgeons Center for Obesity Surgery and all patients must schedule consultations with a nutrition consult, pulmonary consult, psychiatric consult and cardiac consult.

  3. I'm having problems with my pre-op diet. I do have an OrangeCrystal light drink in the mornings but I'm too full to drink water or just forget to drink some. I don't want to get dehydrated. :rolleyes2:

Today is my fifth day and I really surprise I don't crave for solid foods. I even went to BJ's Wholesale Club today with my husband and I was able to walk pass those food samplers with no problem.

It's a little shock that I had more will power than I thought all along.

  4. I had a bottle of fruit punch crystal light on my way to work.

I had five Optifast drinks - 3 strawberry and 2 chocolate plus I had orange sugar-free Jell-O cup for a snack at work.

I had some lovely chicken broth for dinner.

I also had plenty of water and crystal light.

I went to the bathroom (if you know what I mean) for the first time and it was interesting.

I played Wii Sport and what a working out with the bowling and boxing training. I ready need to work on my arms because I want to starting toning so my skin won't hang as bad.:rolleyes2:

  5. I had my six Optifast drinks - 3 strawberry and 3 chocolate plus I had orange sugar-free Jell-O cup for a snack at work. I also had one sugar free ice pop in the evening. I also had plenty of water and crystal light.

I'm actually feeling ok kind of full and I'm not hungry which is really weird.

But I did have a good “last supper” on Monday – Four slices of Pizza and a big cheese burger.

    Will keep you update!

  6. Ok, I woke up today feeling desperate to get my “last suppers” before my liquid protein diet.

And since I know I’m going to be going in a transformation, I decided to cut my long hair. I just took my large scissor and started to cut away. I hope it’s even. It’s just above my shoulders now but the good think with curly hair – you can’t really tell if it’s uneven. I will be going to the salon tomorrow to style it. I feel so free, I no more hiding my fat face behind my hair. :rolleyes2:

So, I convinced my husband to go to “Home Town Buffet.” I thought I was going to eat up a storm but I actually didn’t. I did have one large fried chicken breast and tons of salad. I was every proud of myself. Last year, I would have 4-6 plates of rice, burgers, tacos and every fatting food in there.

  7. Yes, they knock you out.

    My Experience

    * The procedure was done by the my lap-band doctor.

    * You are asked to wear a hospital gown, remove your eyeglasses and dentures.

    * A mouthpiece is placed in your mouth. It does not interfere with your breathing.

    * You will lie on your left side during the procedure.

    * A local anesthetic and a sedative intravenously (in your vein). You will feel relaxed and drowsy off to sleep.

    * The doctor inserts an endoscope into your mouth, through your esophagus (the "food pipe" leading from your mouth into your stomach) and into your stomach. The endoscope does not interfere with your breathing.

    * The procedure was about 15 to 20 minutes.

    After the procedure

    * You will stay in a recovery room for about 30 minutes for observation.

    * You may feel a temporary soreness in your throat but I didn't at all.

    * Your doctor will discuss the results with you after the procedure.

    * A responsible adult must accompany you home. Do not drive or make any major decisions for at least 8 hours after the procedure.
