Congrats! I hear you about the yo-yo diets-I've been dieting since I was 9 so I am definitely excited for the changes in my life after my surgery in November. Good luck to you! -

Congratulations on hitting your goal and all of the amazing things you have been able to do and continue to do! I love your dog by the way-reminds me of the beautiful blue-eyed Siberian Husky I had growing up

I wasn't even aware that this was a possibility for the sleeve so thank you for asking this! I will definitely be asking my surgeon when I meet with him next month!

OH NO Food Funerals, Ive put on weight pre op.
megolego replied to fandangle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know I have probably have gained a few pounds ( I am not looking until my appointment with the surgeon next month) but I am trying to not give in to the guilt and trying to enjoy the "forbidden stuff" while I can -
I was worried about this too because though I have done "documented" weight loss programs like Weight Watchers before, I haven't done any within the past year and my insurance wanted that. What I did was write a letter to my local Weight Watchers and asked them to write a letter stating all of the times that I did Weight Watchers (which they did) and that along with a note from primary doctor helped me get approved! Good luck to you!

What to eat before surgery
megolego replied to afer0841's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This. I have to do the 2 week pre-op diet but if I didn't, I would be eating what I wanted while I still could -
My surgery is in November and I am having these thoughts too. I just keep reminding myself that I am doing this so that I can be a healthier me and be around longer with my daughter and husband.

Hello and welcome! I just joined this month too after just receiving my insurance approval for surgery in November. Good luck to you as you go through the approval process-it may seem to take forever but it's worth it!

Good job!

Wow that stinks! I thought I was waiting forever when I scheduled my November surgery this month. You can look at this way-you do have to wait but because you are waiting until December or January, you will get to enjoy all the food on Thanksgiving and on any holidays you may celebrate between then and your surgery date
-
Congrats on scheduling your surgery! I will be getting mine done in November too on the 6th! I don't really have any advice yet but I am doing the same thing as you-trying to cut out those things that aren't allowed after surgery.

I had surgery when I was younger and I was so scared I was crying a little and all I remember was the anesthesiologist saying, "Let me tell you a story about a princess" and I laughed during the entire story (I think the drugs were starting to kick in then). By the time I had to do the countdown from 100 I had calmed down. It's a scary process but you can do it!
