Scared about the unknown
Lynn Cannon replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m so glad you posted!! I am 59 yrs old too. Do you think we should form the “old farts club”? Tee Hee. For me, and perhaps you, having the surgery is mostly medical. I made the decision because my ips and knees hurt and I have been exhausted for so long. I have my own business which I love but between work, aged parents I was coming home exhausted and would hit the couch and just bring on the food until bed. I also have a Type 2 diabetis. When I looked at me future And weighed out the options 1) accept being overweight and all the health concerns; limited mobility, not being able to play with my grandkids (when I get them), increased risk for heart disease and Type 1 diabetes OR take charge and have this amazing tool to help me, lose the weight and really live and have so many more options open to me I knew this was my only choice and the best decision for me. It’s a more difficult recovery when we’re older but it will be worth it. I was sleeved Aug 23 and am so looking forward to the adventures around the corner. Sending you big gigantic hugs!! 🤗🤗🤗 Lynn -

I’d like to know too. I was sleeved the week before you and after I drink I have this gurgling that takes over. -
Won’t it be lovely when this is all sorted and over! Can the new centre answer your questions as they might have been through this before?

Summer 2018 Surgery Buddies: POST-OP Discussion
Lynn Cannon replied to Ylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello!! That’s so cool you are seeing Dr. Cobourn too. He is very lovely, warm and reassuring. I researched SO much and I’m very glad I went with him. I haven’t found a negative comment yet. The clinic was very nice and the nurses wonderful. I was especially happy with the Anesthesiologist. Going under was a huge fear. He spent a fair bit of time with me. They didn’t “tie” me down and he let me hold the mask. The nurse held my hand and just kept talking to me. Last thing I remembered was Dr Cobourn coming in and announcing Gasterectomy Sleeve. I went to sleep very peacefully. Are you travelling there or driving? -

So excited for you photo girl. I had my surgery two days after you! Took new pics today. I took pics pre post diet so now down 25 lbs and it shows. How much time have people taken off work? I am so tired, maybe because I’m an old fart (59). I was at the doc today for my stitches out and all looks good. Just have a lump under the one incision - I forget what he called it but he wasn’t worried. He recommended another week off....... Lynn -
