I have a work potluck today. I went with silly for my festive outfit. My necklace even lights up, so fancy!
-
Yeah, that’s more than 2 sizes too big.
-
The whole outfit is great, but especially the boots!!! Congrats!
-
I dressed uber-professionally today for a meeting. You can see several of my fosters photo bombing. They are so helpful 🙄
-
My outfit today was my silly overalls. They are not flattering in the least, but I love them anyway. Today was pretty physical, and they were perfect for it.
-
This dress is freaking adorable.
-
Ok, today’s oodt is accidentally artsy (crooked). And I think my selfie game is craptastic. The pictures Andy took look so different, even in puffy winter clothes. 🤷🏻♀️
-
Omg that jacket! I love it. I think the pants are doing odd things above your knees?
-
Okay, so this was my OODT on Friday. The reason it was great is because we went to Arcata completely unprepared for a day in the snow. No clothes, boots, etc. But, because I’m now a “normal” size I was able to borrow pieces pretty easily and cobble together a nice cozy set-up. Very few people will know what a BIG DEAL it is. But I know you guys will. In addition, the actual snow play was so much easier! Just walking in snow. I avoided it for years because I was always wet, cold, and struggling with exertion due to my size and not being able to find decent gear at prices I could manage. This feels like a major milestone.

Right?! This is new for me! I’ve never been this cold all the time before. I am not a fan. ***desperately hits “buy now” on another cashmere sweater***
-
Pfffff, I’m just going to keep piling them onto my body until I’m FINALLY WARM. Holy crap is it cold here right now!
-
OMG this is so true. Now that I’m in “normal” sizes, the options are wide open. Like, I ALMOST want to stop losing just so that my clothes don’t become too big 😂 I’ve done the whole “capsule wardrobe” thing, and am trying to stick to basics. And everything (almost) is used and way cheaper than retail. But, uh, I’ve been shopping while cold today, so I MIGHT have 2 more cashmere sweaters coming. Wooooooops...
-
Come sit by me, comfortably ensconced in doc martens, denim, black leather, and old band t-shirts. It’s nice here.
-
Ok, try not to be TOO jealous. Here I am in my super schmexy overalls 😂 The handsome fluff ball on the floor is Dimitri, a recent foster fail. You can see a couple of my current foster babies up in the cat tree.
-
I’m sure he is. And you are super classy looking, no matter the “age” of your wardrobe. You have a wonderful fashion sense. My boys have been taller than me for over 12 years now. The baby has reached 6’3”, which is amazing to me. He is a giant in my family. My loose neck skin leaves no doubt about my age. And is it my fault that current styles are dipping into my beloved 80s and 90s fashion?
-
****glances in mirror at hot pink and purple hair****. I peer review this statement.
-
Wait, is “dressing your age” a thing? **peers down at self in overalls**. Nah ETA: I’m currently listening to Lizzo, and I feel confident that she would approve of my message above. DON’T UPSET LIZZO, GREEN!

There are a few tips/tricks that can help get the best deals. look for specifics in your size, for example “brown silk shirt”. Narrowing it down makes it easier. hit the little heart button on anything that looks like it may work for you, that lets the seller know you are interested. They can then send you an offer that is lower than the listed price if they are very motivated. This happens A LOT. You can send a seller an offer, and they either accept it or counter offer you, or they ignore it (this is rare). I’ve gotten things at much lower prices by doing this. Go by the measurements, we know how sizing is WAY irregular, especially when throwing vintage items in the mix. Most of my sweaters are either wool or cashmere at this point, all bought through Poshmark at the $20-30 range. I’m so much warmer now! Pants of course are a bit riskier, fit wise.
-
The vast majority of my clothes are from Poshmark. Shoes, too. I just got in some leather pants and a NWT LLBean cashmere sweater today, each was $20 + shipping. Poshmark is how I’ve been able to indulge in my want for nice clothes, and my tendency to be cheap. Well, and I’m still losing. My burgeoning scarf collection is from local thrifting. It’s easier to get massive steals from them for those things.

I love that jacket and the boots

Those stockings are cute as hell.
