I've always just added salt... that's good enough for me. I know some people like their cottage cheese with fruit. What about sprinkling a little splenda or crystal light on it? Sounds gross to me, but maybe it would be ok? Yuck! lol Other than that... I just don't know what you could do to it. Have you ever tried those Davinci Syrups? They have them at that coffee shop (not sure what it's called) that is, I believe across from the old Walmart on 8th St... I think it's called Jimmy Java or Java Joe's or something like that. It's in a building with a strip of little shops. They're like $16-20 a bottle, so I don't know if you'd wanna experiement with it. They've got all kinda of fruity flavours, and they're made with Splenda. Maybe a little splash of it on top of your cottage cheese? Once again, I say "yuck", but...

So I was just eating my dinner... a broccoli stuffed chicken breast.. I started to feel a little 'stuck', so I stopped. I spit out the bite I had in my mouth (sorry) ... I was all alone, so luckily no one was around to witness this beauty. Then I noticed my mouth feeling awfully 'spitty'. I've noticed this once before... once when something felt stuck, so I've been watching out for it since. Anyways... I spit this 'spit' into a napkin, and it just wouldn't let go off my lip! It was just the tiniest little strand... So, I swiped my finger through, to try to 'cut it off' and this stuff hung on to my finger! A little thread of 'slime' ! I know, or have read, that sliming is your way of lubing up whatever might be stuck... I understood that it came from your stomach... but I swear it was my mouth that was 'watering'. From what I've read, sliming is almost always accompanied by a PB, so I was a little worried... but nothing like that happened. Maybe I'm wrong, and it was all from my mouth, my spit was particularily sticky for some reason and it wasn't the official 'slime' ? Could it have been a 'slime' that snuck up my throat, and I only think it was from my mouth? Anyways... everything's fine now. A minute later, I was unstuck and no watery mouth. Can anyone tell me where the slime comes from? thank you, Mandi

I think you just like rubbing in that chef thing, don't ya? I'll try to be there tomorrow... I believe that's 5:30 for me.

OMG... that is SO funny! I want that scale! I'll trade you... I have a stupid Tony Little/Homedics digital. You definitely need to keep that scale, either way!
-
Can't change thread names, even if you started it, apparently. Oh well... from now on! Or we could speak in our best attempt at French! No, let's not do that. I'm a poor excuse for a supposed French-Canadian.
-
I agree too - let's do that from now on! I'll change the names of the threads i've started, if I can.

New Brunswick! Just kinda finally decided a couple weeks ago. I'll be driving... so that should be quite an adventure!

Ok, so unjury got back to me. ( www.unjury.com ) They do ship to Canada (may get 'busted' at customs and have to pay taxes though) ... For the 5 samples of unflavoured Protein powders, it would be 5 x $1.75 and then $2.95 for shipping (US). It's a pain to order from them though (because their order form won't accept any Canadian info (like province or postal code))... but if anyone wants to know what the process it, let me know. Maybe I'll try it out. I'll order some samples and report back on how they are! I'm moving soon, so I'll order them some time at the end of the month. Til then, maybe some Dyna whey from the Superstore!

Glad you figured it out! I need to find something that I KNOW the weight of and try it out on my scale too!
-
I agree... if you really were told that, I think it's pretty ridiculous too. Weird, cause I think I've heard lots of good about Dr. Spiegel!

That's unusual that they'd let you do that... but nice! I'll keep that in mind... if I ever live somewhere (or closer to) that has a GNC! My local health food/nutrition/vitamin/bulk food store has not too much to chose from, and the only other option would be what I can find at the grocery store or pharmacies... or hopefully unjury if they ever reply to ME! I was about to say that the Unjury seemed pretty reasonably priced, but now that I read it more carefully... it's $17 (US) for "15 scoops".. so even at only 2 scoops a day (40g protein), that would only last a week. I don't really care to spend $20 a week. Dang. Hmmm.... maybe I'll have to find something else. I just might try that Kiwi-strawberry thingy!

I will let you know! Well... I don't know. I guess I feel some restriction... I'm not eating all that much less now than I was prior to my fill though. Some things I've recently eaten: - last night, a hotdog, complete with bun... not sure what I was thinking... I took 2, but could only finish one - one broccoli/cheese stuffed chicken breast - 2 large chicken fingers - an average Cereal bowl sized portion of noodles and sauce (like 'Sidekicks') (1.5 cups maybe?) - 2 pieces of pizza (when I normally would have at least 4!) - 1 cup of cereal, and about a cup of skim milk - a 6" sub from Subway. Used to always get a 12"... 6" is good enough for me now though. as you can tell... I'm not exactly dieting! I eat what I want, try to pick the healthier options, when I can... and I just less of it. As long as I keep losing, I'm going to continue to do so. I just make sure I get the Protein in first (when I can), and I usually don't have room for anything after that.

Hey guys! Can anyone suggest a nut that isn't so high calorie? or all they all? I've checked out walnuts and pecans, and seems that both are about 190 cals and 4g of Protein per ounce. I was thinking that it would be a good way to get some protein, but, not at 190 cals! Thanks in advance! Mandi

haha... yeah, no kidding! -
ahh.. yes... but the problem is finding them in Canada. I went to the unjury website, cause I think that's what I was looking for, not Isopure. They sell samples, but I'm just waiting to get a reply to my email asking if they'll ship to Canada, cause it doesn't seem like they do, in the website.

Well, I checked ExtraFoods (superstore) and Shoppers for that Beneprotein... but nothing. So I doubt we have it here (yet). I did see that Kiwi-strawberry stuff at ExtraFoods, but it was like $30 or 40! I was tempted though! I'm holding out for clear, tasteless stuff. Maybe I'll break down and order some from the states. I think I saw somewhere that sells samples.... hopefully I can try it out (isopure) before I buy. Buffie, I'm doing pretty good. I'm finally losing again, after a stupid 3 week stall. I am feeling super duper, and kinda like I could do with another fill, but I'll hold out as long as I can!

Yeah, we have Benefiber here... it's pretty great. I looked up Beneprotien, and we *should* have it in Canada... but I've never seen it. I'll keep my eyes peeled though. If I, say, added it to several drinks a day, it would be good, but only if it's not VERY expensive. You're supposed to spread your Protein throughout the day, so I suppose in that way, it would be good. I like the idea of a tasteless Protein Drink. The scariness of trying a $50 tub of Protein powder steers me away from it! I swear, if I get a whiff of another powder that smells like Slimfast, heads WILL roll! I shall let the Canadians know if I find it! and where! And no, I've never tried Isopure, or seen it anywhere, but I'd be willing to. (it's the clear protein, right?) Have you seen it somewhere Buffie?

Gimme a time and I will try!

haha... I know how that feels. Don't worry about it... it'll catch up!

Same here, no vomitting or nausea so far! Welcome and good luck with everything! I imagine since you're doing Optifast, you're going with Dr. Cobourn? Optifast was soooo hard for me. But worth it. Just stick it out, the results are awesome! Mandi *edit* - saw another post that you're with Dr. Mumford! Close enough :girl_hug:

Cloe... I was allowed cottage cheese and watery oatmeal during the same time period. I practically lived on it.

Woo! That must be a great feeling. I have some clothes that I bought that I just packed up today for a move... they're waaay too small too, and I can't fathom the idea that something that small will ever fit me! (they're 'women's tshirts' in 'large' and they still look so tiny) Yeah! We need pictures! Does your camera have a timer maybe? Mandi

Woodys, don't even get me started! What's even worse... when your Huskies run away, and there's nothing to pull the sled!
