What constitutes a 'professional'? Is it a doctor that does it? Is it a one time thing? Is it where you get the tube/water in the butt? How much ... umm... bleh, was removed? Sorry guys if this gets gross! I'm genuinely interested! Mandi

haha, I know. I can cleanse my colon pretty well myself with a Chicken, Frank's RedHot sauce and banana pepper sub from Subway! Just curious about the 'other' ways

Haha... I hear ya. It's AWFUL. I wish it was like this place. So much easier to manuever. As long as you get yourself out of recieving the emails everytime someone posts, and can just read them on the website, that's a start. Keep trying!!!

Not me, and no one ever replies to my emails, so I give up! *hhmmmrrrrpphh* *runs away pouting*

You guys are too funny. The job is doing various animation type stuff for a kids cartoon. I don't really know much about it right now, but probably a year from now, when it's actually ready to go onto TV, I'll let you all know to look out for it, and to watch for my name in the credits! No, my boyfriend is actually from Calgary. He moved to S'toon for school, and that's where I met him. Yeah, everyone is really amazed to hear where I'm from. I've gotten the "wow! Everyone's moving there, and you more HERE?!". I don't know what they're thinking, but no one's moving to Saskatchewan! Alberta and BC, yes, but SK, noooooo. I guess the west is the west to them. Haha, I totally know what you mean about the jaywalking! I wouldn't even attempt it in a REALLY big city! I'm too slow! I do not know what people from Miramichi are called.... I shall look into that and let you know someday. Fredericton is about a 3 or 3.5 hour drive south west from here, I believe. We're about an hour north of Moncton. I hate saying distances with times, (like it's an hours drive), and my dad would have my head for doing that, but I just don't know the actual distance. Yeah, I think they do get ALOT of snow here. I probably will be bitching about that in the winter too. Mandi

OOoh... I'm so flattered that you think I have stuff to tell! The job, it hasn't started yet. I'm hoping for August. REALLY hoping! Living arrangements: I am currently room and boarding in a crappy house, with my boyfriend, another guy from work, a lady from work, and her husband... and 3 cats. It's waaay too hot here, and I can't wait to move elsewhere! We're on a 'list' for an apartment in what is supposed to be the nicest buildings in town. A few people we know here got in before us, and we've seen the places, and they are very nice. All new appliances, a dishwasher (one of my 'must-haves'), and is about 1.5km from work. The people here: I'd say they're very nice. I still giggle when someone says something like "I'm gonna hop in my care and run down to Walmaret." Apparently the best thing they have to make fun of my 'acccent' is that saying "Really?!" is sooooo "Westerner" LOL, whatEVER! The shopping: Hmmm... nothing fabulous. Luckily I'm not in the market for any clothes right now, and I will hold on to the same crappy clothes I have for as long as possible! The malls suck. I've only been to one, but I can imagine the other one's about the same. There's some 'bigger' stores here that I didn't really expect for a small town, like Walmart, and Canadian Tire. There's a Burger King, McDonalds, Boston pizza (for the 'well known' places to eat, anyways... there's lot of restaurants. And rumour has it, we just might be getting a Quizno's. Please, please, please!! The town: It's called Miramichi. It's an amalgamation of 3 towns that were so close, and just grew together. Altogether, the population is about 15,000. Even though they grew together, everything's still so spread out, and they're still too far apart. It's very annoying. You have to drive sooo long to get anywhere. Luckily where I'm living right now has all the ammenities I need close by. If I, say, want a blizzard from Dairy Queen, I have to drive like 20 minutes! Sheesh! lol Boyfriend info: What can I say? It's nice to be back with him. We're having alot of fun. haha, you guys gotta be specific about what you wanna know! Nah, I don't regret it YET. I like it, and it's nice to be away from everyone. I feel a little guilty for leaving my mom (cause that's who I was last living with for the last several months), because she has MS, and I like to think having me there was a big help to her, and good company, cause she doesn't have much. But she has my dad, and I know as much as she'd love for me to live in her basement forever, she doesn't want to hold me back. I also miss my kitties, and worry about them, especially the two 16 year olds. I hate to think that I won't be around when ... you know. I didn't have any friends where I was last living, cause it was my 'hometown' and everyone I knew was gone. All my friends were in Saskatoon, so since I've been away, I've mostly just talked to them by email and MSN anyways, so nothing's really changed there. I dare say that it's not really that different here. I'm sure if I was in a bigger town, that'd be different. It's just slightly more hilly and near the Water. It's DAMN hot. But I usually said that in SK too. I can't wait for fall and winter. Now if I were living in Charlottetown, I would say that it was totally different. At least the areas near the waterfront. Everything's SO beautiful. It's very clean, and just NICE! I would love to live there. So, anything else? Mandi

What was your surgeon (or will your surgeon be) right about? That "this one" will work!? Nah... you're SO not too old for high heels! I'm going through these things, and taking down my 'wants' and other people's that apply to me too (things that they said, that I wish I would have too), and making a list that I'll put up somewhere (or just keep handy on my computer), and strike things off my list as they happen.

I think she said she's spending today recovering and flying home tomorrow (friday) "at the butt-crack of dawn" LOL So maybe we'll hear something tomorrow night. Mandi

You know, I have been getting lots of errors today. I rarely have any problems. I don't get why yours would be in the Canadian area though. (and why it's ok when you sign in with another name)

Let us know when you're back and recovering!!

Oh yes... beer. I have had sips here and there, but... never as much as this weekend. I tried my best to do Caesar's for most of the night(s), but at $4.75-5.25 a drink, I just couldn't do it anymore. Things were ok, and I wasn't burping all over the place like I would have expected. Well... no more than anyone else drinking beer! It's going good here. I went to PEI for Canada Day, and it's SOOOOO nice there, at least in all of Charlottetown. I'm jealous. It's nice-ish here, but I'd kill to live there!
-
Oh you guys.... I knew what I was getting myself into when I said 9" !! I shoulda said 8 or 10, but you sickies still woulda thought that, wouldn't you!!?? LOL
-
Was it late? I was probably recovering from my Canada Day weekend. Too many late nights, I got used to it! btw, I drank beer, and I survived!

Hey Cloe I think I have the same problem, but I've had one fill so far. I'd kinda like another one, but I'm scared that the golfballs would be even worse and more frequent with another fill. So 'my plan' is to wait it out as long as I can, and hopefully train myself to stop golfballing! I'm not getting them as often as before, so I suppose that's a good start. I'm sure it would be different if fills were more accessable to me.... I probably would be on at least my 3rd by now! P.S. I could totally eat a 12" sub before my first fill. Now it's a 6" for me. (although I'm now feeling like I wish there were a 9")

I wonder if she ever found out if/where she was moving.... perhaps a PM is in order. Unless she's still 'subscribed' to this thread... Teasie, if you get this, let us know what happened!!!

There's a Dr. in Moncton, NB who does the band. I'm waiting to hear back from him whether he'll take me on as a patient or not, to do my fills. I think his rationale for being so stingey on who he takes on, is because he wants to deter patients from going elsewhere, like Toronto or Mexico for banding, and assume they can just come home and have him do their fills. (The band is covered in NB). Not really fair to people like you and me who are just MOVING here and looking for help. Anyways... I don't know anything about Newfoundland, or their healthcare. Probably like most places, it's difficult to find a family doctor who is taking new patients. I also don't know if going from NL to NB for fills would be too difficult. But I'm VERY sure that he (Dr. Beausoleil) is the only maritime lapband guy. Good luck!

Good luck Devana!!! Congrats also!

haha, yeah Yoda... might be a good idea! (p.s. You can buy and apply EMLA yourself... no one even needs to know that you're 'numbed', they'll just think you're a trooper :grouphug: )
-
Aww.... Yoda! That SUCKS!!! Hopefully next time works. I think these Dr's are making enough money... they should have flouro machines in their offices for things like this. That would be toooo nice. Woo! For Superman, I'm excited to see it too... lucky you getting to see it at the imax! Better luck next time. Mandi

I've heard of people using it for fills, ALOT. I've used it before (not for fills though), and it does work really good. I don't wish I'd had it for my last fill, but I almost think, that in fear of having a fill nightmare like some people, with the 10 prick tries, that I just may give it a try. It also helps that I have some leftover. I'd suggest using the stuff that comes in the large tube, so you can spread it over a big area (in case they don't stick the needle(s) in exactly where you're expecting)... the Patches only cover an area a bit bigger than a toonie.
