Why you (I) shouldn't weigh everyday: Up 2 pounds !? In the morning!? What?! Brush it off, Mandi, brush it off.... stay away til next wednesday... it'll be ok. :omg:

Thanks guys, now I'm craving shrimp. Even a shrimp ring would be nice... hmmm....

I think they're *supposed* to use a Huber or non-coring needle, but I don't know what gauge.

Well... I think that's where the "PB" comes in. (when things are beyond stuck and wont go passed the band, so they come back up).. I've never had anything stuck bad enough that it doesn't just pass through on it's own. Granted it's a very uncomfortable, a couple times almost painful wait until it does, but it always has for me. I've read here, about people using a little dash of meat tenderizer in a little bit of Water, when they've had something stuck that doesn't want to unstick. I went and got some before surgery, cause I was so scared of it happening. I have only used it a couple times when it felt like it was never gonna pass. It actually DID help... at least I think so. It was always something meaty that I used it on, so I don't know how it works on anything else. I do keep a tiny ziploc bag in my wallet (you know, like what you'd get from a drug dealer!), just incase I ever need it. Hopefully I never get stopped and searched, cause I don't know if the cops would believe that those orange granules are meat tenderizer! Soooo... that might be something you want to consider getting. JUST in case. I don't rely on it, and I think it's good to suffer sometimes, cause it makes me be more careful.

You do, don't you!!!??

oh, I don't mean once you've already swallowed it, spit it out... that's kinda be like pukin! For example, I had steak the other night, and I got a piece that was just not chewing very well, and I knew I wouldn't be able to break it up anymore enough to swallow safely.... so I spit it back onto my plate! And the pieces... well.. you're gonna have to gauge that yourself too. Maybe a 1"x1" piece? I've heard of people using baby forks and spoons, to make sure they don't take more than they can handle. I haven't done that, but it might be a good idea later on when I can't take as big of bites as I am now. You'll know when you've taken either too big of a bite or not chewed it good enough. I get the 'golfball' as they call it, if I do that. I don't get the golfball thing, I just call it 'stuck', cause that's what it feels like to me.

That was to what Yoda said about loving newf people AND dogs (I was guessing that's what she meant) and I said "newb' as in maybe that's what you would call a New Brunswickeronion ? LOL I dunno!

Hey Kim - that's one kind of band, yeah. There's a few different kinds. Don't listen to things like that.... like that you'll never be able to eat ___. I had some shrimp the other day, and I'm fine, and it went down fine. Same with bread and Pasta... I'd heard it was the devil, I was sure I would never eat it again.. but.. still am (or CAN, I should say) It's gonna be different for everyone. You really just have to experiement with everything (in very small amounts) and see if it's ok with you! Probably the one thing I have listened to warnings about is gum. Not that you can't have it, but I don't have it ever, because I'm a compulsive gum-swallower, and I'd do it without even realizing, and that could be bad. p.s. I should say... I *hope* another fill, when it comes, will make certain things harder to eat. Maybe the reason things are so easy for me right now is because I don't have much/any restriction. But still... you should still try things yourself to know what you can/can't have. Like if you're chewing a chunk o' shrimp, and it doesn't seem to be getting broken down enough by chewing... spit it out! I do that alot (not in public)! LOL

:omg: PM me too! Why's it a secret!?

But newbs are better, right?

Time2live: There is someone else for sure that I know of, Dr. Descouteax (or close to that), but I'd stick with Dr. Mitchell... he's the one I've heard about most. But like "luvulots" said, I know of someone who Dr. Mitchell couldn't find the port of after several sticks, but still had to pay. (they then had to go to the hosp. and have it done with flouro {which would be nice in the first place}) Yeah, make sure they pull out the Fluid they put in, after they think they've got it in... just to be sure.

Thanks guys

haha, glad you guys liked it. I got it in an email with some other equally as funny dogs dressed up, but had to show you this one!

Poor Yoda... it's supposed to start cooling off though, isn't it? Oh, I can't imagine... I'm never going to be able to go any where tropical! (or even just more south!) :pout:

One more thread then I'll shut up, my band is too tight

I think it just depends on the size of your stomach or somethin' like that. No.. no one for fills here yet, or else I woulda gone a month ago! I'm waiting to hear back from the lapband surgeon here, hopefully on friday or early next week. If he won't 'take me', I'm not sure what I should do. Maybe I will have to find a good family dr. that will learn to do it. Dr. Cobourn doesn't give out DVD's like TLBC, but apparently he used to, so maybe he'd do it again... I dunno. Does your Dr. take out what she's put in previously, to make sure that it's all still in there? Careful with that. I know a girl from Manitoba who's been having her Dr do her fills, and everything was fine (except she was never restricted for long) until they started checking how much was actually in her band... anyways, something's leaking, possibly punctured tubing and she's losing like 4cc's a week. Have you ever asked TLBC what the liability is, if your Dr. punctured your tubing... would TLBC still replace it for free? It's awesome that it's gone so well with you so far though! Have any of those other Saskatoon gals been in contact with you about having your Dr do their fills too? Yes it does suck... I am losing slowly, but I know I would (or sure I would) be doing EVEN better if I had some restriction! Congrats! How long until you're going to try eating? Let us know how it is! Mandi -

WHEW indeed!!! Glad you're feeling better! Little fills from now on, I guess, hey? -
True, true.. you probably really will not feel too good if you eat as much as you're planning. Why not, at least, don't do what you want to do (eating once everyone's gone), and just do your eating while people are around. Try to think of it that you're *only* doing it because it's a special event, and once the event's over, so is you time for eating! And like Yoda said, there will be plenty of special days, but not just to be careful of... but to look forward to! You WILL be able to eat again!! You won't be able to binge... so try your hardest not to this time, cause at least by the time this BBQ comes around you'll have 11-ish days 'on the wagon', that you don't want to blow TOO bad, right?
-
Ok, so today is my weigh in day. 242.2, so, if I make my challenge this month, it'll make me 234.2 lbs
-
Oooh... exciting. That'll be nice. I would probably be living for it too! I'm like that too (or would like to think *used to be*), that I do most of my eating when no one can see it. I think alot of what stops me is fear of wrecking what I've got going and/or physically hurting myself by doing it. (hopefully soon, being actually full, and not wanting to eat more will be what stops me) But I guess that's good. It's keeping me on track... kinda, and if fear is what it takes, that's fine with me. Then there's also the embarassment of the possibility that the might not work, and if it doesn't, having to face the people who were doubters. I also took those horrid pictures.... and cried...

Nah, you should be able to drink water no problem after a fill. That's why she's gotta go get some taken out.

That's too bad, but at least you've got easy access to your fill-er-upper! I bet the .5 cc will help alot. Stick around and drink your bottle of water to make sure it goes down more comfortably -
Oh wow... you must be brittle! LOL, just kidding! That'll teach you to drink diet koolaid! It's a sign! Drink Water, and if you spill it, you don't have to scramble to clean it up
-
Oh yuck! What did you do?! Good luck, I hope you can get to the Dr. soon!

Nevermind... a little looking, and I found it. Your fill saga... yeah, I remember now! How long has it been since your last fill?
