I only know this because I had to 'assist' in more than a couple neuterings, during highschool, in a job shadowing thing. They remove the testicles from inside their 'sac'... ok, actually I just looked up the actual description, cause I think I've blocked most of it! LOL (ask me about horse castration ! :faint: no, don't!!) The scrotum is opened with a small incision and the testicles are brought out. The cords are either pulled free and tied to eachother or a small suture is used to tie the cords and the testicle is cut free. The skin incision on the scrotum is small enough so as not to require stitches of any kind. Sounds about right.

Well... I've personally always only had long haired cats, so I'll say that that's why I didn't know. I'm trying to think of seeing a short haired male cat.... hmmm... they're not like dogs, how they have a very visable 'bump' where their penis is hiding. I think they might kinda have a bump, but nothing like a dogs, and cat schlongs aren't constantly hanging out like dirty dogs! LOL I think usually the way you'd know the cats a guy would be by the errmmm... balls. (that is unless it's already neutered) Oh man.. I feel wrong about referring to animal genitals !! :omg: LOL Anyways, mine was neutered and long haired, so that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it!!!

Yes.... he is a plump kitty I had him on some diet food before I left, so I hope my parents are keeping up with that. (yeah, they're keeping him for me. I don't think they would have LET me take him, they love him too much) When I first found him, almost 8 years ago ..(geesh, I was gonna say 3, cause I coulda sworn it was only that long ago!) we thought he was a SHE, and was pregnant, and named her/him Chloe! Then I brought her to the vet to find out what was goin' on with her, and to get shots and all that, to discover she was a he, and already neutered! So, he's been volumptuous since I got him, but he's quite a bit bigger now. ... and Chloe was renamed Kobe. Oh, don't even get me started talking about my cats! I carry a picture of him in my wallet! LOL

That picture came about because Dan had sent me THIS picture from work, of a little statue that they have in the office: (so I made a little hat, and posed Kobe!)

    I say it's a dog..a grey-ish spaniel type... and someone's holding the ears on while the picture's being taken. (eek! I hope it's not a person! I can't see that well! )

    Hey JUDE048!

Thank you Jude (sorry I missed this earlier). And good luck to you too... with everything. I'm really sorry about your mom. I was recently taking care of my mom too, and there's nothing worse than seeing your mom in pain, so I feel for you. Take care of yourself, and your mom, and check in on us and tell us how it's going, whenever you get the chance.

    Canadian "AUGUST" Challenge

Kim, don't worry. You will be able to eat again!!! And just be honest with them and let them know that you strayed from the pre-op diet. Who knows, maybe it won't be a big deal at all. Some people get banded, and never ever have to do a pre-op diet. Just take care of yourself, and we'll be thinking of you tomorrow!! Good luck, and let us know how you're doing as soon as you can. Mandi
  16. I swear, if there's anything good in my house, I will wake up in the middle of the night and eat it. It hasn't been so bad lately... and almost not at all since I moved here, because living with a bunch of other people, it was too much trouble to get something on to walk through the house, to the kitchen, to do it. But now that we're living by ourselves... I did it for the first time, again last night. Dan had bought him self a container of Ben & Jerry's "Turtle Soup". He had a little taste of it, saying he was going to make it last until at least the weekend. WELL... of course I go at 4am and open the freezer, and devour it! I don't even know how much I ate, and I don't wanna look. I only knew I did it, cause when I woke up, I had a gross "ate something before I went to bed" taste in my mouth. So now, before he gets home from work, I gotta go get a new one, eat just as much as he had eaten (or better yet, scoop out and throw away!), and hope he doesn't notice!! I think I might have even done it twice last night! There were 2 spoons in the sink, and I'm pretty sure it was about an hour later after the first time! AHHHHHHH!!!! I probably won't do it again. Maybe I'll tell him he better keep an eye on the level, cause I may be tempted. So... that's my shame for the day.

    Confessions Of A Sleep-Eater

That's funny. I'm more of a 'sweet' sleep eater... I usually don't bother if there's just regular food around, like chips or pizza even... but if there were cheesecake or cookies in the house... I'd be up hunting them down that night!!! I've also done the chocolate chip thing! I don't even like plain chocolate chips!

Buffie - I haven't tried sushi yet, but I definitely will give it a go. Where ya goin' for sushi? Sushiro? Mmmmm... sushi. Apparently there's some super good sushi in Halifax... I'll have to go sometime soon! Ratgirl - I am happy so far... no regrets at all.

You could probably stow away on the ship, if you wanted. Maybe I'll just buy the ship, and let you be the.... hmmm.... buffet coordinator! LOL, wouldn't that be hell!? WOOO! I'm very excited for you!! I'll definitely be thinking of you tomorrow! What time are you scheduled for?

    Argon's Activities

Thanks Maria, it will be expensive, but... ya know, I got the lapband for a reason, and it's not doing me any good just sitting there. (well ok.. it's doing me 0.6lbs good, here and there LOL) If I have to struggle for a while (and make a "umm... can I borrow a little money" call to my parents), it'll be ok. I'll be starting my job either the 21st or 28th, so I'll soon have some money coming in, and I can pay my Visa back down in no time, I'm sure. Oh yeah... not related, but I found out last night that a friend of mine got a job at the same studio as me, so she'll be moving here, in probably a couple weeks! Yay for having more people around that I know! I stayed with her for a while, about 6 months ago, when I was working stupid off and on jobs in Saskatoon (but had already moved out of town), so I told her that one thing she doesn't have to worry about is having somewhere to stay once she gets here. So much for Dan and I having the place to our selves!! He's not all THAT happy about it, but I owe her... and it'll just be til she finds something else. On that note, I'm gonna call my landlord and see if there's gonna be any openings in our building! Also... you guys don't bother spending your money on 6/49 tickets, cause I'll be winning the 32 million tonight! Don't worry, if I win... I will organize the coooolest thing for us. How about an all Canadian cruise!!?? Oooh yeah! :huggie:

    Canadian "AUGUST" Challenge

Maria - yes... more walkin' for me! LOL and you're doing great! Buffie- yeah, where are ya? And how's it going? ratgirl - I agree with them! Just look through our posts here, and I'm sure you'll read alot of stuff about our experiences with him and his staff! So.... officially, I lost a whoppin' 0.6lbs in the last week! Not awesome, but anything is good, and I'm used to the little losses by now! I walked last night, but not quite for 20 minutes.

    Confessions Of A Sleep-Eater

Oooh... hazelnut chocolate spread.... that's the worst for me. I would wake up and find a chocolately spoon on my bedside table, or kitchen counter! Luckily I never was a fan of PB on its own... but the Nutella... I haven't touched it in a while. :huggie:

Thank you guys :huggie: You're all awesome. I'm disappointed, for sure... but I'm seeing what else I can do. Until then, my Visa is MAXED, and I've got a flight to and from TO on Tuesday... hopefully I'll be successful with this fill, and it'll last me long enough until I get something figured out. :huggie: Mandi
