Dr's Davey and Birch? That's weird, cause someone on here requested the exact same thing, and was told no. Hmmmmm.....
-
Keep harassing them! Do they say anywhere that they exclude coverage for it?
-
Oh, I don't believe that! I'm sure you have stuff to tell! What did you eat today? How's eating going for you? How much can you eat at a time? I don't *really* measure... but I know it's not much. I went to subway for lunch, and soooo badly wanted a sub, but I got a 'deli sandwich', with ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles... and honey dijon. I was amazed I could eat almost half. I stopped, mostly because I was 'stuck. At least I have lunch for tomorrow! yuck!

Good luck, green!

uh-hem... isn't this supposed to be about you!?

Hey swanny, Nope... no broths! Nothing fun at all! Optifast and 'green' veggies, but only those that grow above ground (is what I was told) lettuce, spinach, celery, ... everything boring. And of course you can't really add anything to it to TRY to make it taste better. *I* would add a tablespoon of some low-cal dressing or something, but that's me, and not recommended. I tried eating veggies while doing Opti-hell too, but I just couldn't stand them plain, and just gave up. I live in NB. I went to PEI for the first time for Canada Day, and yeah, it was awesome. I would love to live in Charlottetown, some day! Here is info/directions for Cobourns pre-op diet, taken from the Cobourn/Mumford group: Pre-op Diet 900 calorie diet If your surgeon puts you on the 4 Optifast per day then you are not allowed anything but the Optifast and the low calorie drinks. If in doubt, please check with the clinic as the pre-op diet can change with time. 3 Optifast shakes per day. (225 calories each) 225 calories, which may include the following: Green leafy vegetables Lettuce Cabbage Spinach Kale Watercress Bok Choy Chard Beet greens Other low glycemic vegetables Celery Broccoli Cauliflower Brussel Sprouts Green onions Radishes Zucchini Cucumber Alfafa Sprouts Bean sprouts Mushrooms Asparagus Foods to avoid Most red, yellow and orange vegetables Corn Peas Yellow Beans Squash Potatoes Sweet Potatoes Carrots meat, fish, poultry, dairy, cheese, oil, butter margarine Allowed berries(use sparingly as the calories add up quickly) Strawberries Raspberries Blueberries You can drink tea, coffee, crystal light, flavoured Water, water, anything that is low calorie. Drink plenty of water to flush the fat out of your system. No sugar or dairy allowed in the tea or coffee. You can use splenda if you need a sweetener. Ideas for making Optifast more palatable vanilla Optifast Mix in blender with lots of ice. Instead of water, use cold coffee, cold chai tea, cold mint tea, crystal light, nestle flavoured waters. If mixing with water, try adding sugar free flavoured extracts(DaVinci brand), instant coffee, crystal light crystals, baking flavour extracts. chocolate Optifast Mix in blender with lots of ice. Instead of water, use cold coffee, cold mint tea, nestle flavoured waters, crystal light. If mixing with water, try adding sugar free flavoured extracts(DaVinci brand), instant coffee, crystal light crystals, baking flavour extracts. The more you blend it with ice, the creamier it becomes. Add lots of ice and blend for a few minutes and it will become the consistency of a milkshake Hope that helps!

If you look anywhere else on the board, anything pertaining to P'nut (Photonut) or Delarla, you'll find the stuff I'm referring to. A good place to start (or better yet, save your self and don't bother!) would be in the Rants N' Raves section... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=23006 But this stuff is ALL over the place.

Anyone want to get in on a flower arrangement for Marie? Someone suggested it on the Yahoo group, and I was like "Yeah, let's do it!" and someone else was like "I set it up... all you have to do is..." So, this gal found a florist that will manually take a credit card amount that you specify.. whether you want to contribute $5 or $15, and add them all up... then when there's a grand total, this girl's gonna go in, and pick out something SPECTACULAR ... or as best as she can get, with however much my we give... have it delivered to Marie at work, on the 1st, I believe... and take pictures of Marie and her flowers that day when she goes in for her appointment! Everyone who calls in their 'donation' will get their name on the card (or more likely, cardS) that go with the flowers. I think that's AWESOME! I'm so excited to hear what happens, and see the pictures! She's gonna be so surprised, and I think there's gonna be alot of people getting in on it. So if you guys want, I'll get you the number and all the information she posted about how to go about doing this. I believe it's Monday that we have to call in our 'orders'. Who's in!?
-
Are you guys sick and F-in' tired of all the BS 'out there'? OMG How any one can keep track of all the posts about moderators and banning, and who the moderators should ban, and that the moderators should be banned themselves, and then all the banned people coming back with new identities .... it's beyond me. I just want to gnaw my hands off, after poking my eyes out, to stop myself from looking at any more of it!! Is it that we're all just so damn nice? Or do we just know what not to say, to not cause sh!t? We're not "not being ourselves", we're just having some freakin' consideration, and politeness! I'm worried that this might just make Alex (the owner) say "Screw this" and taking down the board altogether, with no warning. I certainly hope not. If that ever happens, we'll make our own board (not a Yahoo group!), and call it Survivors of LBT.

Nope, you're not the only one, by FAR! (except I only had 2 weeks, but barely any veggies) -
awww... to Wheezy.

Oh Jude... I'm sorry about everything. Hopefully things will start to look up soon. I hear ya about the not being able to eat... I couldn't beileve pudding could be so hard to eat. It's gotten better for me, and I'm sure it will for you too. Just hang in there.
-
Cloe, and Maria, I sent you pictures... let me know if you don't get them. And anyone else, who may be silent on here, and donated to 'the cause' and/or wants to see the pictures, PM me with your email add. and I'll send 'em to you

awwwwwww..... too cute! Demon eyes! LOL I was expecting pure white-ness though.. :pout:
-
remember... it was actually a moncton cookie! I just told him it was from TO! LOL And, btw, the ice cream incident was before the cookie incident. I haven't comfortably eaten icecream SINCE my fill! (but I've tried, a couple times!)

So... tell me things... Do you shave 'em and sell the wool? Do they live outside? What do they do in the winter? Is there a barn they go warm up in? So... if you save the girls... do you make sure that they don't breed with their dads? (that is, if you get the same rams in year after year) Or does it really matter? Maybe inbred sheep are just as yummy as non-inbred sheep? LOL

So, Marie got the flowers. The pictures haven't been sent or 'uploaded' yet, but I'll be sure that whoever wants to see them, can. The girl who brought the flowers to marie hasn't posted, but another gal who just happened to be in the office when the flowers arrived, said Marie cried her little face off! Awww! I will let you know, as soon as I do, what happened.

Mmmm... oh yeah, onion too! It seems to have changed sometime in the last 10 years, I think. It used to be better.
-
Is it that Helluva stuff? French onion, I think? I remember seeing that at costco. But I looovvve plain old Philadelphia chip dips... like peppercorn ranch or dill pickle!
-
Psssh... Dan is not one to go to for math help!
-
Ok.... this is official: I need a picture of you holding 30 baby lambys... and ONE of em has to be black!
-
Nope.... I don't think anyone does/has. You're pretty much on your own with this. Just think... if you eat $133.33 less in food a month, over 10 years, the band will have paid for itself!! LOL You'll also likely live longer, from losing *any* weight, even if not all that you want to. Smaller clothes are cheaper than plus-sizes (any one else agree?). But then again, once you can wear whatever you want, you could go nuts and buy more clothes than ever before! Mandi

Hey Wheezy... no I haven't tried that. (calling the makers) I did offer to pay for fills. It was still a no, cause the answer was simply that he didn't have enough time. BUT... Dr. Cobourn is training a nurse, who is getting the band at the end of September. She lives in Nova Scotia, about 4 hours from me, I think. And then 6 weeks-ish after her surgery, he's going to go to Halifax, gather anyone who wants a fill, and have a big fill-fest, probably by her, while he watches/helps. So I have about 2 months until then. Hopefully I WON'T need another, but its nice to know if I do, I can go there, and HE will be there, at least the first time. Then hopefully after that, she'll have so much experience, that it won't be hard at all, whenever I have to go back.
