Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Hi Yoda! Keep comin' back!! -
I'm sure you'd disagree... but most would say you're probably too tight. chocolate, spicy foods, minty things.. can give me heartburn. Not that I don't eat them, but I remember "Oh yeah... that sometimes gives me heartburn when I eat it" afterwards. I think you should email Dr. Cobourn. I'd say email Marie, but... Just ask him what he thinks of it. You definitely don't want more of a fill, I don't think, if this is happening as is. And you don't want to not tell them that it's happening, cause it *could* cause problems. Do a search on here for 'heartburn', and I'm sure there'll be many threads telling why it's so bad. (for us)
-
Hey Cloe. I think I remember you saying you've never had heartburn, right? Cause that's what it sounds like. Start taking Tums!
-
Oooh, I missed it!! Happy Birthday, Cloe! What did you do?!
-
Wow, Leila... sorry to hear about that! I hope everything goes ok. Please let us know, ok? and LOL, at least you still have a good sense of humour about it! Mandi

I think it would be fine. I drank it, and have lived to tell! I never saw the clinic I went to, or met anyone until the day before surgery... only phone conversations, too. I came from SK for surgery, so same thing for me. Also... I made chicken noodle Soup (lipton), and removed the noodles, after surgery. It was very yummy! Well... the yummiest thing I'd had in weeks! One night we went out for sushi, and the only thing I could have was wonton soup (minus all the goodies in it), but it was still ok. Something different at least!
-
Good luck, Maria! Mine's not til Wed.
-
I have all the info for the UNJURY, and I'd really like to order some. I'm thinking I'd like to at the very least, drink a shake in the morning. Do you do anything special with the chocolate, Loriely? Or is it good enough 'as is'?
-
Wheezy, I've been following Aussie Chick for quite a while too! She's done sooo good, and is lookin' even better now that she got the tummy tuck! And yeah, you're doing awesome, 1 pound is a pound lost, anyway! It's all good, and every little bit adds up over time! Cloe, keep it up! I'm anticipating that drop for you too!
-
You definitely are inspirational, Maria! I'll have to follow Cloe and try to remember how you do it! And yes, Sean the Leprechaun. I also got notes from the Tooth fairy, the easter bunny, and Santa!
-
Hi Jude, I'm glad to hear about your mom And WOOOOO! for the ticker no longer being a lie !!!!!! Mandi
-
I'm guessing you're with the TLBC? They just want you to be supplementing with some kind of Protein shake during the first week. Any kind of Protein Shake would be good. I'd say 15g at least, or more, per serving. You can find them at any health food store. I'm glad you got yourself a thread! Mandi

Oh, also.... I hate to admit it, but I'm seriously considering joining Curves. I don't know what's gotten into me?!!?!??! :omg:

The only people that *I* told were my parents and my boyfriend... and my one friend (who happens to be the one living with me right now).. and only her because at the time I was living with her, and I needed to explain why Dr's offices from Ontario were calling me at her house! My mom has blabbed it to lots of people. I asked her not to, but it obviously was to late... cause she started telling people after I had my consult. Not lots of people (a few aunts, my grandparents... her 'homecare' workers). I'm also from a small town, and I'm very glad I moved, cause I wouldn't want all those people always watching me. Since I've moved, the only people here that know are my BF, and the girl-friend. I was down maybe 30-something lbs when I got here. I guess my losing is so gradual, no one will ever likely notice. Maybe someday they'll look back at work pictures and see how much bigger I used to be?! It's a little difficult, when we go out for lunch or dinner as a group. I've realized that I need something easy to eat in cases like that. Even then, I'm barely close to being done my tiny bowl of Soup by the time they're done their full burger/fries/pop meals.
-
Oh.... same with me! I HATE shopping for clothes. If I go into a store that I know has nothing for me, I automatically go for things like bags or purses... or shoes. I can't wait to be able to find things in my size at almost any store. How great would that be?!

Hey Cloe-ball, I get stuck probably every day. It really doesn't always matter if I chew well or not. A too big mouthful of water, or pudding gets stuck. I guess the key is to take tiny micro bites. But EVEN THEN, sometimes they get stuck. Why do you think you need another fill? Can you still eat alot, even though you are getting stuck? It doesn't take long for me to get stuck, and once I am, I'm done, for quite a while. Unfortunetly I've discovered the instant relief I get with 'burping up'. I don't think it's PB'ing, cause I don't HAVE to do it, and it's never actual food that comes up, it's foamy-ness or slime. Ugg. So... I'm going to Moncton tomorrow! It's for the 3rd time, but the first 2, I only ever went to the airport. I'm actually going to go places tomorrow. Like Costco!!! WOOOO! And guess what else. I think I'm pushing it... and every other time I've done it, I've left almost in tears... BUT.. I'm going to Old Navy. I recall the biggest size I could ever find before being a 20 (pants). When I bought jeans a couple months ago, I bought 22's (remember, I posted how excited I was?!). Well... I'm gonna try on some 20's. I think, even if they don't quite fit (which I'm sure will make me sad)... as long as I like them, and they look like they have potential to look good eventually, I'm gonna get em. I have several 'inspiration' shirts, even some 'inspiration' gitch (undies)... but no inspiration pants!! Imagine my excitement, if I could possibly fit into some of their shirts?! Ooooh... I better not get my hopes up! I'm not saying that Old Navy has the coolest stuff ever... BUT... it's cheap, and they have 'cool' stuff sometimes! Tomorrow night, a guy from work is having a party at his apartment. Should be fun! Have a good weekend, guys! Mandi

Hi Wheezy... yup, that's where I got them too... Walmart. Jamieson Chewable Vita-Vim. I was being a jerk, saying what I said about Walgreens. I don't think we even have Walgreens in Canada. I was joking that probably an American would come in and tell us you could get them at Walgreens. (I'll assume they don't notice this is a Canadian thread!)
-
WORD! :couch2: I need to slap myself when I get reading the cabbage Soup diet thread, or thinking about Atkins!
-
Deb, you're lucky! Fills like that, most of us can only dream of!! LOL Seriously... it's a good thing. You should have seen the bruise I got from all the port-pushing and prodding during my last fill. And he can see if anything looks 'off' (or at least send a pic to your surgeon to look at, if you suspect something) Do you have to pay for the fills by him? :couch2:
-
What kind of chewables do you have, Wheezy? I have Vita-Vim berry flavoured, and I'm in love with 'em! I've never seen liquid Vitamins either... maybe it's something we can't get in Canada. *waiting for someone to waltz in and tell us that Walgreen's has them* LOL

What are you tryin' to say? :couch2: We're boring!? -
I thought Irish Mist was the soap.... hmm... My parents (or more-so my dad) used to make a big deal out of every holiday.. On St. Patricks Day, I'd leave out green foods for the leprechauns, and one year, Sean the Leprechaun left me a thank you letter!! :omg:
-
Speaking of which... I have 5.6 lbs to go to make my goal. I'm sorry guys... you probably hate me, saying I just had a Blizzard, and still losing 2.4 lbs this week. BUT... just so you know, I don't eat much during the day (morning/noon/night). today: - 5 mini-wheats and enough milk to soak 'em - coffee - half a deli sandwich from Subway - (chinese leftovers) 1.5 chicken balls, 2tbsp rice, "" chow mein, a bite of a spring roll I don't actually measure... those are guesses. So yeah, 2.4lbs so far this month. Making my *total* 55lbs exactly... plus I'm in the unchartered territory known as the 220's!
-
Cheating on what? No diets allowed! If you're talking about your post-op diet... then, no... it's liquidy/mushy... probably ok if you'd chewed/mushed the cone too. I had a blizzard 5 days after surgery... and I just had one last weekend!

Lila, I know of a gal in Dauphin, MB who's Dr does her fills for her. I don't know if I'd recommend it or not though. She's gotten a leak, and although I don't know the details, I'm guessing her doc. might have something to do with it? If you want, I could find out her Dr's info. Let me know! Mandi
