awesome job, Tommy! How much more to you want to lose? I'm a big ice cream fan, but luckily for me, it seems that after a few bites, my band shrinks closed and I can't do any more! LOL Oh, all the wasted trips to Dairy Queen.... and the container of Cherry Garcia that's actually been in my freezer for WEEKS! You guys know how long that USED to last me (never mind my midnight trips to the freezer, eating Dan's ice cream! No more!) Anyways, good job Tommy. You really should come visit us here more often!

I'm not a good example! You don't want it to be like it was for me!
-
LOL Thanks Maria... I hope so too! But it's mostly just a dream
-
I didn't hear that rumour... but that would be awwwwwesome!
-
Not a new building yet, is it? Thought that wasn't until November. Hmm... But yeah, let us know how it goes!!

Wow! Congrats Maria! That's exciting

You know what bugs ME!? Ok, well.. NO one here knows that I've lost or been losing weight. I heard this idiot guy at work today, bragging that he's lost 10 lbs. I wanna run over there and grab him by the ears, yell in his face, spit and all, "I've lost almost 70!" .... but *I'm* not freakin' bragging about it. *note* I've lost about 30ish lbs since I started working with them all. Probably not a noticeable amount... but I'm sure it would be noticeable if they saw me 6 months ago.

Hey! Glad you made it over here! I think you should start your very own thread too :grouphug: I was banded by Dr. Cobourn, just over 6 months ago. As you can see (from my ticker), I'm at 68lbs gone so far... and 70-something to go. That's not for sure, cause I don't know what weight I really would be happy at, cause I've never been anything less than 200+ lbs. I am also very happy with my decision. Everythings gone pretty smoothly so far, and even the times that haven't been so great, were still worth it. What about you?!

Hey Cloe! Go to www.nioxin.com, and you can search for places that sell it! I found one somewhat close to here, so its nice to know if I need it, I CAN get it!
-
You DO have alotta hair! Maybe you should get it cut shorter? I haven't really paid much attention to my hair. I know I lose it in the shower, and it seems like more than I used to lose when shampooing and conditioning. I'll stick to not looking at my scalp as much as I can, and maybe I can pretend it isn't happening. If you really wanna try that stuff, how about looking it up on Ebay, or some online stores? I would try a hair salon for the Nioxin (or something like it), and maybe a health food store for the biotin? Just some suggestions.

Ok, maybe not famous, but to me, this one gal is. For those of you who don't visit the canadianlapbanders site, you may not know of her. She doesn't post much, which is a shame, cause I find her inspirational. (if you are a member, and don't know who I'm talking about, you can PM, and I'll tell you who's posts and pictures to look for on the other board) I won't name names, but she was banded a little over 2.5 years ago, started at 427 and is now at 138. From what I've read in previous posts, about 230lbs of those were lost in the first year. No comparing though, cause seemingly the higher the weight you start at, the faster it comes off in the beginning. But then again, there's another recent bandster, done in May who had 50-ish pounds to lose, and is very close to done. AHHH! Anyways, not that she's alone... there's lots of people who've lost huge amounts like that on here, and elsewhere (with the band), but it's nice to hear of people a little closer to home. :clap2:

Yes, that is her I actually told her on the other board that I thought that... and I also saw that she's now working for TLBC. Good for her!
-
and what's up with the 'before and after pictures"? I think I've seen those all on Inamed's website! Unless Dr. C and associates pay for their patients who make it to goal, to go get professional pictures taken!?
-
By the way... anyone check out their newly revamped website lately? Lookin' much better www.lapband.ca

I can too! Mine's about half a block away! I don't though. There's one just across the parking lot from where I work, so I just go there every morning as soon as I get to work. Mmmmmm... coffee. I always get a large or XL, and unfortunetly, I drink so slow, that it's usually cold by the time I get to the end. Bleh!

ummm.. how bout an official thread?!

Good ideas guys, thanks very much. I'll have to figure something out. I was counting on the 24 million 6/49 on Saturday, but I guess someone in ONTARIO (and Quebec) won again!!! And yeah, Wheezy..... I'd forgotten about the ex! If nothing else, at least if I miss out on rubbin' his face in it this time, I'll be lookin' even BETTER by my next chance to go home! HA!

I usually just have to 'wait out' the stuck feeling. I try silly things like jumping up and down, bending over... running my stomach into a wall... (just kidding, but sometimes I feel like trying). You *could* try sipping on something hot, but for some people that just makes things worse. For me it can go either way. I think everyone probably knows the feeling of whether they can even TAKE a sip of something when they're stuck. I know sometimes, I KNOW I can't even attempt a sip, or it'll be bad news. I think you should talk to someone at the TLBC and see what they suggest, cause believe me, if you are a little tight right now, you don't want to be even tighter (or TOO tight). It's not fun at all. I have heard varying things on popcorn too. I loooove popcorn, and have had it a few times at the theatre, and just recently have gotten into eating it at home again. I bought those 'mini-bags' and they're perfect... too much usually. Never gotten stuck, and no problems so far. I think I'll have some tonight with the Amazing Race!

Woo! That's too cool! The E stands for experience !! hehe Everybodies gonna think he got himself a new wife when they see you now!

So many posts! I think I have to quit my job just to keep up with all the action here! So yeah, I have been watching for seat sales... but I'm thinking if I wait and wait, I'm going to miss out on how 'cheap' it is right now, and end up paying way more. That always happens to me... and I don't know, do you think tickets would get cheaper at Xmas? I'm going (or want to) from the 22nd to the 29th or 30th. And yeah.. I know they're going to offer, and I MIGHT accept, BUT.. my other dilema is: what about Dan? I'm 99% sure that his parents can't help him out with a ticket. I can't leave him here by himself for Christmas!

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
argon replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
awww Yoda.... that would be disappointing. I can only imagine what people will do to me when I see 'em! Don't you worry... next time you see her, and the time after that, you're gonna keep looking better and better. She'll be asking YOU how to get in shape. Nice joke  LOL -
I knooooow... it's so crazy. I was excited at 40 lbs, cause it was unchartered territory. Honestly, I've got problems. I don't notice anything at all... I think I look the same. My clothes (some) are bigger, and I feel little things like bones in my arms, less neck waddle (and back of the neck fat)...but I don't see anything different. I really gotta go through my pictures and make some before and afters to compare. I was in the bathroom yesterday and held up my ID photo to my face, and looked in the mirror. It was the worst picture anyways... but I guess I look thinner now.

Thanks Maria, Nooo... I didn't post it. But I was down another 3 lbs this week. Total for Sept. was 13.6lbs. :omg: I think I will be able to make my Xmas goal... I've got 17.8 (or 18.8 if I want to be 199) to go...and about 12 weeks before I would be leaving to Saskatchewan. Probably doable. About a pound and a half a week is what I would have to do to make it. EEK! But... I don't even know if I'll be able to go home for Xmas anymore. The plane ticket(s) will cost me probably $1000, and if I am gonna buy it, it needs to be SOON! Then I've got my computer problems... and I'm ready to scrap my old PC, hope that the computer place will buy the parts, and get a new one. I neeeed a new one, cause I'd like to be able to do some work at home. I haven't told my parents that I don't think I can do it... I'm sure they'll say "We can buy your ticket", but I don't want them to. They've done more than enough for me, and I'd feel bad. Ugg... so I don't know what I'll do. Dan's in the same boat as me too. :think BOOooooOOooo!

Awwww... what a CUTIE!

I don't really 'keep in touch'. When I do email, it was usually like so: "Hey Marie, It's been WAY too long since I last updated my weight, so here it is: ____ Mandi" And now that Marie's not there, it'll probably be: "Hey weird lady, today I weigh ___ . Mandi" It's never been of much value. I just they THEY like knowing how you're doing. And if you're not losing very much/fast, they might determine that you should come in for a fill. They never contact ME and ask how I'm doing, which would be nice... so they should consider them lucky if I bless them with an email! HA!
