Thanks green Dawn, I'm not too worried about Halloween. I'm actually realized that I'm losing interest in the stuff that used to make me ooohhhh so happy. My favorite was going to the grocery stores AFTER Halloween (and easter, and christmas) and buy the super cheap candy/chocolate! I think chocolate is now causing me the odd heartburn, and I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible. It's weird. It's a hugely amazing thing for me to not want to grab a choc. bar at the checkout of the grocery store... or a bag of halloween smarties, or whatever. I'm freakin' myself out typing this! LOL The thought still crosses my mind when I see them, but I brush it off with a "Nah!".
-
Wheezy... apparently mine is super deep too. Don't worry, when we're skinny ass super models, we won't need to switch our ports to the low-profile ones.

I did it, I did it! I went to the gym and bought a punch pass. Then I went to Walmart and found some sweat pants that aren't as hideous as my only other pants (huge)... which are coincidently my surgery pants! What the heck is up with sizes? I bought 3X pants, after I just bought 18 jeans? Anyways, I got the shoes, and a buddy to go with, and its a ladies gym, so I'm happy. Hopefully tomorrow I can say "I'm half way there." And I can kick the other half off with starting to do some actual exercise... maybe tone up a bit?

Hi Michelle... I'm sure lots of people looking in to going with either Dr. Cobourn or Dr. Mumford will find that helpful. (there's lots of us here who already made that decision!) Welcome, and feel free to post and ask away!! Mandi -
good job, and congrats, green!!

You can't find a restaurant in my little town that doesn't serve fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas or tacos of some kind... which is weird for the Maritimes, I think. It's more common than fish and chips!
-
Yahoo (like www.yahoo.ca) or Yoohoo? Isn't Yoohoo a drink? Ok, you're all confusing me now. grrrrrreeeeeen! Miss Vickies SEA salt and vinegar chips?! Me too... I love 'em. I bought a bag of salt and vinegar chips a few months ago, that were SO flavourful that it pained me to eat them... but I couldn't stop. It ravaged my mouth, but it was sooo worth it!

(umm... nevermind, you're all gonna think I'm nuts... it's just showing up as a "?" now. I swear it was another symbol before I hit the 'post' button! )
-
Whee?y <-- whoah, do you see that weird symbol where your Z should be!?! How did I do that!?!? LOL Anyways... are you going back to Mississauga for your fill, or are you able to go to Ottawa for this one?
-
Ooooh chips... it's been so long. Well, not really. I miss snarfing down a big bag in a night. I love all kinds, ketchup, salt and vinegar, dill pickle, CHEEZIES!, Cheetos, sour cream and onion rings, Doritos and salsa, plain old 'ripple" with various Philadelphia chip dips .... oh why, oh why did you have to mention chips!?!?!

haha, well... I haven't had computer experience ALL my life. I actually remember 'finding out' about the internet in highschool, and I was quickly hooked! Must be my addictive personality! Do you have any kind of photo editing software on your computer? Usually the pictures you take right off your camera are reeeeally big, so you have to resize them.

I don't know if I can do chili, without massive amounts of garlic bread.... mmmmm.... Wheezy, how's that fill treating you? Still not feelin' it?
-
LOL ... crazy american butter beans... must be! And nope Cloe, no movement yet. I've actually kept my word, and not weighed since last wednesday... so it truly WILL be a surprise to me when I weigh in a couple days! I have weighed myself virtually everyday since my last fill, since I've been losing so well, every time I hopped on the scale, it was an exciting little adventure. Just trying to get myself out of the habit. I can't believe how hard it is to stop! It's KILLING me everyday not to get on that thing! But I am hoping to be at the halfway point on Wednesday!!

Ooooorrrr... in the thread in question, you can click on "Thread Tools" at the top of the page, and click 'unsubscribe from this thread". and if you never ever ever wanna get notifications of new replies to posts, go to your "User CP" (you know, where you edit your signature), then in the Control Panel, chose "Edit Options", scroll down the page and in the "Messaging and Notification", there's an area that says "Default Thread Subscription Mode". Yours is probably set to "instant email notification". Chose "do not subscribe' or "no email notification".... I'm sure they both do the same thing, so pick whatever you want! (p.s. I don't know all this craziness off the top of my head. I thought I'd seen something in the User CP once about unsubscribing, so I went looking! I personally like getting 20 emails from here a day, cause that's all I ever get! ) And #2, I have emailed Dr. C at his own address before, and I recall he answered very quickly. Can you find the email you sent, copy it, and resend it? Give it a couple days, and if no reply... email the nurses email address, and tell them to check his damn email! If nothing else, you'll have to buckle down and call him !

Yay Cloe! I'm glad your hubby convinced you to cancel your fill, and that you're listening You're doing awesome... really. Look at your numbers!

Hey guys, I just got word that there's now a message board on the 'Surgical Weight Loss Center' website. Go here : http://www.obesitysurgery.ca/forum/profile.php?mode=register and sign up. If you're already a patient and have had surgery, you can request entrance into a private 'post surgery section', which no office staff have access to. Just send a PM to 'Moderator1' and ask that she add you to the private section. Tell her that Mandi sent you :girl_hug:

Oh man... keep the complements comin'! hehe I'm glad you're now "in"! I haven't posted anything either... but I will. -
Awww... you guys are making me blush! Finally someone commenting on me looking different!! LOL Thanks for the recipe, neenagh! My crockpot is TINY, so I would probably have to half that or maybe even 1/3 it! I don't think I've ever seen butter beans... what are they?
-
and yeah, good luck!!
-
Don't even look at anything, and you'l be fine. I've seen the needle, but never seen 'em put it in!

awww... thanks Wheezy Cloe, any luck? Is it working for you yet? -
Thank you guys :) Hey, guess what! I bought the cheapest little tiny slow cooker at Walmart on Sat, and tried it out last night. I am IN LOVE! I made a beef stew, and it was amazing. The meat was sooooo tender... ahhhhhh... now I need to find more and better recipes to try! So feel free to share if you've got any!

I think in the states you guys don't have the 'variety' of (potato) chips that we have here. That's what ketchup chips are, ketchup flavoured potato chips.

Edmonton...looking for follow up information
argon replied to ladybugp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the wait in Edmonton is at least a year... AT least! If you got it done in Edmonton, that's where you'd get your fills. Otherwise, if you went somewhere else, I'm not sure about Edmonton, but for sure in Calgary there's a few options for people to see for fills. Usually all that's involved is going into the doctors office/room, lying down on the exam table, he'll feel your stomach to see where your port is, he'll take a needle out, fill it with some saline, put the needle into your stomach, hopefully hit the port on the first try without too much trouble. He'll inject a little bit of saline into the port. (this is different for everyone, and also depends on what size of band you have) You probably won't feel anything or have any idea that he's done anything. You'll drink some Water, to make sure it goes down, and then you'll leave. If all goes smoothly, it probably won't take more than 5-10 minutes. Which clinic are you looking at in Ontario? There's a couple to choose from. Look around all over lapbandtalk, and you'll find info about Mexican surgeons, the good, and the bad. And ask more questions if you want
