Ok, I spoke too soon. I seem to work in weight loss spurts. I was stuck with 6lbs to go for almost a month, and now this morning I wake up and I'm down a couple pounds! 3.6lbs left!
-
You lucky girl! Won't they just let you return it? (oh, I'm assuming you ARE a Cobourn patient and that's who you got it from?)

This is gunna sound wrong- please dont ban me!
argon replied to LucieJ's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
baahahahahahaha! yes, just remember, like ice cream and milk shakes, it'll go right through the band! p.s. I think having this in the food section is fabulous. and with a subject like 'don't ban me', you'll get a lot more exposure! -
haha, Paula... I've got your hand, but you might not want me dragging you down! I haven't moved in sooooooo long, I don't know when it's gonna happen!

errrmmm... I am over 5'5" so I'm in this category: Height over 5'5" small = wrist size less than 5.5" medium = wrist size 6.5" to 7.5" large = wrist size over 7.5" But my wrist is 6" around. Is there something wrong with your chart-thingy, or are >5'5" tall, 6" wristed women not supposed to exist?! :faint:

It's the day after Christmas Day... Dec 26. HUGE shopping day in Canada. Probably just as bad as Black Friday to you guys! (oh yeah, not JUST a Canadian thing)

Weight Challenge - September to Thanksgiving 2007
argon replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Apparently it's Thanksgiving (for you Americans!).. so this is over. Me ---- 14lbs of the 20 I wanted to lose. I still have 6 to go til my ULTIMATE goal, so I guess I can only expect it to be slow. Congrats everyone on your losses, and Happy Thanksgiving! I know what *I'm* thankful for! And good luck with the Thanksgiving to New Years Challenge. -
Susan, Everyone else has said it best already, so all I want to say is good luck! You'll do great... and just remember, the pre-op diet is for your own good. Mandi

YES! It's normal. Not everyone feels restriction after their first fill. It could take you a couple more fills even! How long has it been since your fill? Maybe it just hasn't kicked in, OR maybe you'll just have to wait til you're allowed to go back, and get another small one. Trust me, go in as small of increments as they'll let you... you wanna sneak up on that sweet spot, don't rush it... it'll happen! Keep up the good work. p.s. think of that chicken fajita blender in a blender, I bet it wasn't more than a cup of food! And... well... cereal, unless it was dry... should technically slide right through, cause it's mush. The lasagna... I dunno. You're FINE!

When and where?! Oh wait... TLBC. Damn!

Hey Wheezy! How's it going with you??? I'm about a snug 10 or comfortable 12 in pants right now. Tops.. probably a Large for sure. My 2 winter coats are Mediums though.. It's so weird. I'd loooove to be at goal by the time I go home for Christmas, but I don't know if it's going to happen. I don't really care, honestly.

So, Black Friday is some kind of pre-Thanksgiving day shopping extravanganza? Sounds like I should be glad we don't do that in Canada. But we do have Boxing Day!
-
bahahahaha! I was just thinking that very word today! I wonder if I should consult the exercise area of the forum for some "gunt" tightening techniques!

yay Paula!

Do YOU have excess skin ??
argon replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Don't get your hopes up thinking that because you're young, you'll be ok. I'd like to think I'm relatively young, and hoped for the best too. I honestly don't think if you lose 100lb + you're gonna spring back to normal anyways... no matter how old/young you are. (well, maybe if you gained and lost 100lbs in a matter of a couple years, and never stretchmarked?) Anyways... mine's not HORRIBLE. I will be posting pics soon. My arms are bat-winged/flabby enough that I wouldn't wear a sleeveless shirt (never have), my boobs look like deflated skin balloons, and my stomach looks like it's sliding down the front of my body and my inner thighs are saggy. Other than that... pretty good. Nothing important, eh? I'd for sure like to get my boobs fixed, and a tummy tuck, or better yet a lower body lift. Anything else would be a bonus. I figure we're young, and why would we want to waste this time looking anything other than the best we can, for the time we can. I'll be wrinkly when I'm OLD! -
I have a full band yet can eat anything!!
argon replied to Seaman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Seaman, you should post your question somewhere else, like in "General' for example, and I think you'll get a lot more responses. This area is more for recipes and stuff like that. Also... tell us about yourself. Has the band not been successful at all, or are you almost at goal? I feel for ya, I do. And I don't have any answers. I don't understand the thing myself. -
Julie, can you tell me what exactly they do for the mons lift? I thought it would just be a slight extension of the TT. (and shouldn't when they pull up your belly skin, it lift the mons anyways?) You didn't have it done yet, right? If not, why not at the time of your TT? I'm hoping that with a tummy tuck or lower body lift, my coochie will look a whole lot nicer. It does when I grab onto my skin and pull up, anyways! My 'mons' is pretty much just an extension of my sagging belly right now.

Hey Sherrylynn... just wondering if you can confirm something for me. Is it a radiologist that actually sticks the needle into your port and injects the saline, while Dr. Beausoleil watches, or does he physically do any of the procedure? (I think you're doing fine, by the way )

anyone from b.c.? that had surgery in everett at northwest weight loss?
argon replied to tara-b's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
oh no no, you don't have to wait 3 years for the lapband anywhere in Canada (well, maybe the provinces that actually cover it could be getting to have that long of a list). You're probably thinking of the gastric bypass. I think there are a couple guys doing banding in BC.... their patients will chime in with their names and info. How much is it in Everett? -

argon replied to tara-b's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't seen any BC-er's here who've had it done there, but who knows, there may be some lurkers that will reply. Just curious, why do you want to go to Washington rather than to someone in BC? -
How Many Have Lost 100lbs In 6 Months???
argon replied to princesst's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ya know what, no one should be BOOing themselves for losing ONLY 75lbs in 6 months! That's way more than the average. 100lbs in 6 months is freakish. 70lbs in 2.5 months, even more so. -
Yes, I think mine went down 1 - 1.5 sizes. I was wearing a size 9.5 or 10, and recently bought an 8.5! Pretty amazing!

and no, if you got a complete defill, you wouldn't want a refill all at once. I had to get 1.2cc's, then up to 1.5, then a few weeks later, back down to 1.3cc. Can't imagine the hell it would have been if I'd immediately gone back up to 1.5cc's.
-
Holy cow Astrotoes! Long time no see. That's because you COULD have a slip. If they defill you and it goes away and then doesn't come back when you start getting refilled, that perhaps you never had one, or it slipped back into place. If it doesn't get better, and/or is just as bad when you start getting re-filled, then you've got a problem, and he'd probably do a flouroscope or something to actually diagnose you. That's what I got from his explanation when I had to get the complete defill. He MIGHT NOT make you get a complete defill (btw, by he, I'm talking about Dr. Cobourn)... when I had to, it's cause I could barely eat OR drink. Maybe you'll just need a partial defill. Consider yourself lucky. And don't let it get so bad that you can't eat or drink and you do need a complete defill, because it SUCKS. I had to be 'empty' for about 2 weeks, and I gained 10lbs in that time. I was at 1.5cc's when I got defilled, and I can't even imagine being that 'full' right now. I'm consider a defill somedays, and right now I'm at 1.3ccs. So in closing (hehe), you too Astrotoes, contact your Dr. tell him what's happening, and hope that you'll only need a partial defill. Don't let it get worse. I know the misery that is nighttime choking... if it hasn't already, you'll start inhaling it when it comes up, and the whole next day you'll feel weak and hoarse, from all the choking and coughing. (also the chance of aspiration pneumonia) Call the Dr. !
