Is that your signature? The "hi everyone" thing? Your ticker is good though! I wish you well with the pre-op diet... I hope you're as enthusiastic in a few more days!
-
It was the message board on Dr. Cobourn's site. (I'm not interested in football either!)
-
It varies by Dr., but personally, I'll drink up until I'm ready to eat, and wait 45min-1 hour after. (that is when I think about it, and unless I HAVE to have a drink sooner!) Good luck, Doriana! Let us know when you get home, as soon as you can! And, oh yeah... I got to the clinic at 9:30-ish, I went in for surgery at about 10:30, and left by 1pm. They didn't rush me out, I'm sure I could have stayed much longer, but I was in a weird "I gotta get outta here!" mood! I was up and putting on my pants the second the nurse gave them to me (got in trouble, cause she was supposed to help!)

Ditto, ditto, ditto!

Yes, that's better... thanks neenagh. Now, off to Dairy Queen! LOL just kiddin'. Or am I !? :omg:

I too broke down at the pressure of the bake sale... we had one at work to raise money for the 'social committee". 2 separate days, I bought: peanut butter fudge, and a little plate with a piece of peanut butter marshmallow square, homemade Reese's PB cup, a brownie, and a shortbread cookie. Someone slap my hand!

Ya know, not saying it's a stupid idea, but not really necessary.... you can eat anything from ANY cookbook, low carb, low fat, diabetic, SUPER fat, HIGH carb, salads, Soups... whatever. YOU just won't be eating as much! What would the difference in a LapBand cook book be? Smaller portions, is all I can think of. (and probably healthier, but that's just common sense.) There's nothing that is something that NO one can have. Some people eat things like celery, peppers, asparagus (etc) with no problem, while others will PB at the sight of it, then there's somethings that should be fine for everyone, but just don't agree with some people. Here are a couple that I came across... probably the kind of stuff you're looking for (even though they're not lapband specific): [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Eating-Well-After-Weight-Surgery/dp/1569244537/sr=1-1/qid=1163967743/ref=sr_1_1/002-9036348-9161618?ie=UTF8&s=books]Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery[/ame] [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Before-After-Living-Eating-Surgery/dp/0060567228/sr=1-3/qid=1163967743/ref=sr_1_3/002-9036348-9161618?ie=UTF8&s=books]Susan Maria's book.. this lady is well known in the bariatric world.[/ame] (new revised version coming out in the summer)

Where were you living when you were banded, Dawn? And who is/was your insurance provider?

Have any of you tried the Isopure/Isopro?

*note to La Madam* This is the Canadian area of LBT, and we don't have liquid tylenol here. And yeah, everything Yoda said. I take Jamieson Vita-Vim chewable Multivitamins (get mine from Walmart, but I've seen them all over). There are also 'junior' strength chewable tylenol's that I bought quite alot of. They're something like 160mg each, so it takes about 3 to equal 1 extra strength tylenol.. they're yummy too. I ordered some unjury Protein powder from www.unjury.com. You can order some samples to try it out first. I tried the chocolate, and it was actually good. The good thing is that they have an 'unflavoured' one, so you can do whatever you want with it. -
Any savoury liquid breakfast suggestions?

Oatmeal and bacon bits?! :omg: LOL, just kidding, that's just so unusual. -
Aww... Wheezy. I say don't give up, as well. Really... it's only been 3 months. Give it some time, it IS going to work for you. You're gonna turn into a Cloe, in no time. I just checked my calendar, and at 3 months out, I had only lost 15lbs since surgery. And work on that water. How much would you say you drink in a day? That can REALLY help your weightloss out, so try as hard as you can to make it a priority. Last week, for the first time since my last fill (when I met you), I made an honest effort, and every day, I was drinking 2 litres (at work) and a little more at night. It is hard, especially when you can't chug anymore, but try

Lookin' good, neenagh! You can definitely see the difference! And yeah... you had some major bruising! I didn't at all... weird. I had the biggest bruise from my last fill! Go figure.

I don't think so, andree.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
argon replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aww... I feel for Mr. Yoda. Mr. Mandi is also struggling. He's been going to the gym when I do, and workin' his ass off, and hasn't lost like he's hoping for. But yes, new goal, halfway by Xmas?! -
No, I haven't yet.... I don't wanna freak her out more!
-
Ok, green, what's your inside crotch to floor measurement? Cause if you're the same height as me..... Lila, it's not that I care about my pants (LOL, nice thing of me to say), just that I hate getting them wet.. you know, if it rains, or snows. THEN, I often sit with one of my legs under my butt/thighs, and end up with wet spots on the back of my pants! Maybe I just need to turn into one of those girls who wear the stilettos with jeans?
-
Yes... that's a good idea. I actually just heard from the gal (on the cobourn message board) who was his 1 "miss". She's not too happy. Yeah... let him practice on more people before you go back!
-
Hmm... I did the same, and I too am 30". I know sometimes you can find jeans (or pants) in many sizes and if you're lucky, varying inseams, but not very often for me. They always seem to be at least a 32" I guess mine must be shorter, cause being 2 inches taller, my legs should be 2" longer. How bout you, Yoda?
-
On a lighter note: Maybe you guys should stop gettin' on 'em so much! *mmmmmmmuaaaahahahahaha*
-
(or even do a search for "dizzy", and you'll find probably 100 people who asked the same thing! )
-
I would ask this in a new thread, OR maybe even in the 'general' area, so anyone (not just canadians) sees it and answers. I get dizzy too, every now and then. Why not go get your BP checked, even at one of those drugstore BP machines? Are you losing consistantly every week, or have you lplateaued?
-
What did Wheezy answer? You mean Yoda, about the quote thing? Psssh... nice brush off! LOL
-
Yoda, get a measuring tape, and measure the inside of your leg, from your crotch to the floor, and we'll compare! You too Lila. You're an inch shorter than Yoda, and 2 shorter than me.... we'll see what the difference. *I* don't think I have short legs!!

Is the Opti-Fast the worst part? - Please?
argon replied to Taymac's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't know if you like Chai tea, (I don't), but if you do, you'd probably like adding some of it, cold, to the Optifast and ice (then blender it!).
