Hello out there, do you have any suggestions
argon replied to sherriberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sherri, like I said, there is Dr. in Ottawa, who is NOT a lapband surgeon, but has been trained to do fills. Wheezy has gone to this person, even though she had her surgery in Toronto/Mississauga.... I'd really suggest giving them a call. -
YES! :heh:

Congrats Doriana! I took the junior strength chewable tylenol too, and if yours is also 160mg per pill, 4 pills is only giving you 640mg, which is a little more than 1 extra strength tylenol (500mg). *I* normally take 2 extra strength, so really, that would be 6 'juniors'. Seems crazy (especially when there's only 18-20 in a bottle)... but that's the way it works out. Don't know about the coffee... that's a q for your dr's office. Personally, I had coffee (and milk!) in the first week, and I'm still alive. But listen to your Dr!

Good luck with the new fill, and we'll see ya next week :girl_hug:

I just looked on the map... isn't North Bay fairly close to Ottawa? Why not go to the Dr. there? Wheezy, how much does he charge? (I'm sure he doesn't just do his patients) -
Nah, it's ok Lila. I hope to either get my bed shipped here soon, or find a yucky used one somewhere! It's not as bad as you'd think... it's a 'double-high", so I don't have to drop down to get into bed, or crawl out! I did sleep ok. Took a little while, but I tried to go blank, first said goodnight to and relaxed every bit of my body (had to restart 10 times, cause you-know-who kept talking!). It was ok. Maybe I was just loving the ease of falling asleep like that. (and oh yeah! I woke up at 4:50 and ran to the bathroom! Milk of Magnesia works! and continued to work all morning. I credit it for getting me out of the 200's. I didn't want to be constipated on a weigh-in day!) I actually knew that, about the Wellbutrin/Zyban, and thought that could make matters worse. I do purposely take it first thing in the morning because of that. The Dr. only gave me 2 months worth of Wellbutrin, so I'll be going back soon.... I will mention it, and see if they can suggest anything, and/or prescribe anything perhaps. But then, if I get a prescription sleeping pill, what would stop me from treating it just like the non-prescription, and gettin' hooked too? What is that pill, I've seen commercials for.... Lunesta! Do we have that here? I'll look it up. So, thank you guys for the well wishes and congrats! I'm very happy with myself today. I made a little Post-It note that said "1986" (code for 198.6) and stuck it on my monitor so I could stare at it all day. Also, I want to purposely say, that I am gonna be here for a LONG time. I've joined many a online weightloss support groups, and eventually disappeared with no warning from all of 'em. (atkins, weight watchers, cabbage soup diet) I'm not gonna disappear, and if I suddenly get a life, I'll let y'all know. I hope you all do the same!

Hey suns! Glad it went so well! Congrats, and take care. You must be tall... with a 40.7 BMI at 284? Mine was 47 at 284! Mandi

Thank you guys... couldn't have done it without you

Cloe, help me out!

Dum da da da! Christmas has come early! and it can't be an imposter! Who else would have gross grown-out toenail polish like that!? (and a tony little scale:heh:)

Soooo... you don't have clothed before/now pictures? Hmmm??

What I meant was that I've always had to lie in bed and wait to fall asleep... until I discovered wonderful sleeping pills :notagree I can take em, go about my business, and a couple hours later, I'm ready for bed, and asleep before I pull the blankets up! Ahhh.... You must forget that I'm sleeping on an air mattress. I spend as little time in my bedroom as possible! I'm sure you're thinking that it's the air mattress that's the problem... and I'm sure it doesn't help, but it's been like this even when I've had good ol' normal beds! I haven't had a sleep test. Hmm... man... that would be a pain to go through. I mean, I don't even have a family doctor, nevermind someone to determine that I need a sleep test. I don't think it's anything like sleep apnea. I just think too much sometimes, and can't just shut my brain down or 'blank it all out' long enough to fall asleep. Thanks for the suggestions, Lila. I do actually already do the fan thing... I need the noise, and it helps. I even do the chanting thing. I'll try the non-sexual massage though ! Maybe I'll find some of those sleepy-making teas too. Thanks again guys! Mandi

Wheezy, you know the generic "Exact" brand from the Superstore/ExtraFoods/Loblaws(I believe). That's all I've ever tried, and cause it was the cheapest... maybe I'm just easy! (it is extra-strength though ?) Lila.... I'm not an afternoon coffee drinker, at all.. and nothing coke-like for me anymore. (huge for me too, althought I might have the odd sip here and there. It just doesn't appeal to me anymore, especially when you can't chug it!) I took the natural one 2 hours before I wanted to go to bed, cause that's what I did with the un-natural one, and didn't feel anything when it came time to go to sleep. I'll try the good old fashioned 'lying there' again tonight. Wish me luck! (and plentiful bowel movements! I've never tried MoM, hope it works!) LOL

Yay Wheezy! I hope this is the one for you too!
-
And.... as neenagh asked... is there something very distinctive about you that some of these 'real' people would know who you are, headless, even?!

Thanks Wheezy

Hmmm... well, I've had problems falling asleep, forEVER. A few months ago, I bought some sleeping pills. I'd take 'em every once in a while (like once a month) if I KNEW I wouldn't be able to sleep. In the last few weeks, it's gotten more frequent, like a few nights a week, and only not taking them because I think I shouldn't. Now, I LOVE being able to go to bed, and actually fall asleep. I never get the drowsy, need to sleep feeling on my own, and 99% of the time, end up lying in bed for an hour (or more) TRYING to fall asleep. Then if I think I can't, I get up, watch TV, go on the computer, or something... until I finally get tired. But then, I have to function the next day on 3 hours of sleep, and it's not fun. I bought some 'natural source' Nytol last week, thinking "Hey, if it's "natural", and still helps, that's gotta be better!". Tried it, and nothing... no good! I'm sure I'm substituting one addiction for another. And I'm thinking about it the way I thought of smoking... well, kinda. I am out of them now, and have been thinking all day, that i HAVE to go buy some tonight, just in case. (just like I would figure out if my cigs. would last me til the next morning, or if I had to go out that night and get some more). It just really sucks, cause I'm really loving falling asleep quickly, and sleeping soundly. Takin' one at 9, and actually going to bed at 11, is a dream come true. Right now, I'm planning on going to the drug store. I think I'm constiptated. :heh: That, and I think I need more sleeping pills. But ... ehhh... I WON'T buy any! I'll get some milk of magnesia, just cause I've never tried it, and the Senokot I have didn't do anything. I won't buy any, ok guys? I will do my best to fall asleep on my own.

Do you exercise? Have you lost without it?
argon replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I started going to the gym when I'd already lost 74lbs (bout a month ago). I'd say I did pretty well without it, but I hate to think where I'd be now, if I had made an effort. I'm honestly not going to the gym to lose more weight, I'm happy at ther pace I was going at.... I just want to tighten things up, and maybe end up a little less flabby! (but I won't complain if I do lose better with going to the gym!) -
This is gonna sound stupid, but... why do you not want to take sleeping pills everynight? (ie: why shouldn't I?)
-
C'mon... not even some decapitated Yoda's? I will post some pictures. I PROMISE. I have been putting stuff off because I don't have a real computer, but, I'm gonna use Dan's computer, transfer all my stuff to it, and make a big comparison collage thingy. For you guys, and mostly for me, cause I GOTTA see it!
-
haha, I'm glad you can laugh at it now, Lila!
-
and oh yeah, me too... I am NOT a tanner. I'm a burner. Yay! Maybe I'll be young looking when I'm as old as you, Yoda! :heh:
-
:omg: again! 59lbs to go ?!?!?!?! WTF happened? Sorry. Whoah... whoah. :faint: It makes me happy that I MIGHT not even want to lose that much. It's a dream to weigh half of my original weight, BUT... not necessary. I could be perfectly happy with myself 20lbs from now. (ha... who am I kidding?) Anything now is just icing ... mmmm.... icing.

So, I just posted in Khrissy's signature thread... saw "123lbs to go", and thought "WOO! That's gonna be a long ride." Then realized that MINE would have used to say "142lbs to go"! :omg: Not a knock against you, Khrissy... just amazing at how fast it goes by (at least for me :|), and before you know it, you could be down 80lbs.
