Whoah... me too!
-
anyone know anyone who owns/works at a Quizno's and can pull some strings? I think all I NEED is some of their 'grill sauce'.
-
Hmmm... Victoria. Hard questions! You're making me think! I don't do anything specific, really. If I don't have things that are high carb, it's just cause I don't feel like it that particular day, or I just know it wouldn't be a good idea to try to eat. I don't bother with bread anymore. Makes me sad, cause I so badly wanted to have Quizno's when I went home at Xmas! ( I would have given it a try anyways, but the first few days were weird for me, and I could barely eat.) I don't actually keep track of things, so I don't know if I'm getting ALOT of protein in, but probably not. I keep meaning to REALLY try though. I do eat the meat in whatever I have first, or at least more. A couple nights ago, I had beef+brocoli stirfry, so I'd eat a couple bites of beef, then a brocoli with a little rice mixed in) If I do that, it's just cause I really like what I'm eating, and I don't want to fill up on JUST the boring meat! I've never noticed anything other than emotions giving me cravings... I just wanted to eat all the time, anytime I wasn't doing anything. So I don't know if that'll be any different. I'm sure it will be better though... I hoped I'd be totally unable to eat things like pasta, rice and bread, but nope! (side note: somehow today, I ate almost all of this enormous dinner bun I got at lunch with my chili (which I also ate almost all of)... I don't get it. Dan says "uh oh... maybe you need a fill", and I was like: "No way, Jose! Tomorrow I'll probably not be able to eat barely anything!") When that happens, I think 'sudden loss of restriction = slippage" and get a little concerned. But then, like I said... thats quashed (word?) the next day when I can't eat.) How's that for long-winded?! (hehe, look at me using all these words I've never typed and/or only heard said!!)

Fat girl in a little coat (a la Tommy Boy)!

I was expecting to hear about you trying on a small jacket or something! Talk about misleading. I don't wanna hear about your sexy toes!!! BOOOO! Anyways, I don't know what that means... if it's elevated. I was gonna ask what WBC was, then I figured it out. Who told you it was elevated, and why didn't THEY tell you if it was a bad thing or not? Hmmmm? -
She lost 50lbs, I think it said. ?

If it helps you at all, I'm hypothyroid, and it wasn't an issue for me being 'allowed' to have surgery. That is, no issue for my Dr. If you're talking about being denied by your insurance company, I don't know, but I would doubt it.

Hi atir, Welcome, and congrats on your loss so far!! Mandi

oh my goodness... what!? Why couldn't you get a defill? I totally know what you mean. When I could barely eat, I wanted so badly to just go back to where I was before the fill, but I was also so scared that I would be able to eat too much again... it's stupid. Really... is there such a hurry? Get even .5cc taken out... I bet you'll get SO much relief with that. I wish I could have when I was going through what you are. Why couldn't you get a little defill? Seriously Lila, you can't live like this... its been too long, and it's not letting up... you need some taken out. You don't want to risk losing your band for this, do you? It'd be much worse to have to have your band removed, wait at least 6 months to be rebanded, and then only if you could afford it a second time! What is worse, that, or taking a bit longer to lose the weight you have to? And you better get LOTS of water in (at least 64 oz/2 litres) and yes, those protein shakes! tough love  Mandi

I agree.... gotta give Mookie her props

I have to go try out some things like that and find ones I like before I commit to a case! I used to eat the Slimfast Peanut Butter Crunch bars, and they're really good.... wonder how many g's of protein there... Also saw that Shopper's has 30% of their drink mixes and bars like that, so I'm gonna check those out too. And thanks guys !!

p.s. Oh yeah... one thing Dr. C (and Mumford) don't have going is a cool clinic. They're moving into a brand new one soon, I hear.
-
I know ya do, Yoda! I do too! I wasn't able to audition Dr's like I would have liked to, so I also had to go by word of mouth, and my gut feeling. Dr. C wasn't my initial choice, but I am happy that he turned out to be! Mandi

I stumbled across a recipe for 'Tex-Mex Cheesy chicken Chowder", and it states as one of the ingredients : 1 - 2.64-ounce package country gravy mix This could be something that we just don't have here (Canada), OR, it just might be a totally different name than what we call it. I think it must be a powdered gravy mix, right? But what makes it 'country'? Thanks in advance! Mandi

good news, Lila! Let us know how it goes! How far is it to PV? How much of a fill do you have right now? How much did you get last time? So many questions!
-
yeah, yeah, green... I didn't *really* PB until after my 2nd fill! (5 months - booyah!!)
-
Hmmm... interesting. Haven't heard of anyone being banded by them, so I can't comment on that. What led you to them? And yeah... we're all self-pay, with the exception of a few lucky Albertans and maybe a lurking NB-er Do you have an appointment for actual surgery, or just a consultation? Mandi

How 'bout $500? Just punched YYZ to YYJ in, and you could go there on Feb 22-27 for a little over $500. (just put those dates in as an example) Even cheaper if you wanted to fly just to Vancouver. I get emails from WestJet (almost everyday) telling me about sales, etc. Go here, http://c1dsp.westjet.com/guest/jetMailInfo.jsp and it should tell you how to sign up for 'JetMail'. (if you want) Try this : http://www.aircanada.com/en/offers/air/websaver_fares/websaver_fares.html?src=hp_wn .... might set you up to see AirCanada's 'webSaver' rates.

thankey  Luckily I was not exposed to the dangers of truffles. I did have some hedgehogs, turtles and ferrero roche's though... and I'm happy that the 3 hundred boxes of chocolates were left behind with my mom!

Awesome, Wheezy and thank YOU

Nope, I don't feel the drain, but feed away! I'm glad I can inspire you, but you're doing pretty freakin' awesome yourself!
