Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
argon replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
nah... like I said, it was a few times, right after a (too tight) fill. Maybe it happens sometimes when you're initially filled, until the 'too-tightness' goes away. ? Sorry Astrotoes.... I'm sure you're seeing that it's not all puppies and bunny rabbits for everyone, but at least you'll go in prepared, and if nothing like anything you hear happens, you can consider yourself lucky! If it does, you know that it's not totally abnormal, and you shouldn't worry (too much) I really feel bad for people who go in knowing nothing but what the doctor tells them, and have no access to 'real' people and their experiences. -
Well... I picked mine. I was actually never given a goal weight by my Dr. Mine is just because it would be exactly half of my start weight. I'm sure everyone's personal goal weight would be different from their Dr's!

Hi Sherrylynn, There was a gal, but she stopped posting. Do you belong to the Yahoo group? It's not very active, but I think they're almost all Beausoleil patients! http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/maritimes_bariatric_patients/ Have you been banded already, or still waiting?
-
Yes, yes... careful with that. Try one first. (for several minutes!) You freaks who can last more than 5 minutes on it... AHHH!
-
Cool, Cloe! You're so crafty
-
Ahhh yes... Alberta and pretty much everyone else. Kudos to NB though... how they came about (mostly) covering it, I don't know. Maybe the surgeon moved here, and there was no one else doing bariatric surgeries? Who knows.

ooooh, if she wants you to lie and say she lives there, don't!!! I'm kinda snickering here. I'm definitely getting old. :omg:
-
Totally, me too... every week I tell myself it's over. I'm either going to stop losing weight, start gaining, or something. I still can't see myself getting to goal either, so... you're not alone.

I don't know if its the same as what happened to me, BUT, after my last fill, for a few nights in a row, during the 1st week, I would wake it the middle of the night...coughing, after almost choking on liquid. It wasn't acidy. I tried to make sure I didn't eat LONG before bed (or at least longer than I'd been)... and it went away. Probably just on its own, but not eating long before bed is a good thing anyways. Actually... now that I think of it, I think I woke up choking on whatever it was, and ran to the bathroom to spit it out. I remember, cause it was in my mouth, and I coughed some more, and sprayed everywhere. :omg: It was a little freaky. Did I not tell you guys about that? :heh: Probably something I didnt' wanna freak anyone out with. -
I emailed them that night.. no response yet. Guess I didn't really ask anything, just told them my most recent weight. Anyone see this before!? http://www.lapband.ca/Cityline-WM.wmv I was like "COOOOOLL!!!!!" Got to show Dr. Cobourn to Dan, and the office, and the recovery room, and everything! Neat for anyone who's not yet met Dr. C.

Good job, Yoda! That's awesome! -
Cloe, this means we need updates on your badass daughter! :heh: You know, you should tell her that you talk about her, and will continue to until she doesn't give you reason to!

I want to edit this to say, that when I said this, I meant "Calgary" not Alberta. They've been doing lapbanding in Edmonton (Dr's Davey and Birch) for a while now. The banding in Calgary is new. I don't know if the lapband program they do at the Royal Alex in Edmonton is subject to the same restrictions they have in Calgary (like only doing 25 a year)... but probably. Clarification, I hope!

Sherriberry! How's it going? What ever happened with your fills? Gerry - if your Dr. is a reg. Dr, chances are he doesn't do fills, but he might be willing to learn from your surgeon, and/or if you're going to TLBC, use the teaching DVD. Who are you getting banded by? -

runny mouth? I get that, but it's like a precursor to a bad 'stuck'. I thought that was sliming until I had a true slime, and it must be a slime, cause it's slimey!! -
Oh yeah... nothin' like that hospital fresh smell!

Helpful, if you're in the US, I'm sure. :huggie: (sorry, honest mistake)
