Thanks guys, I'm doing good now. Thank you Doddie... I'm looking into other job possibilities, but I do like it here. My apartment is great. It's among the most expensive around here, and I'm jealous when I hear of people paying only $400 a month, but it IS nice, and I do love it! The big day is coming up on Wed. I almost just want it to come and go already, so I don't have to worry and feel like I have to have so much done and be at a certain point by my one year bandiversary. I won't feel like there are any upcoming deadlines after it's gone! I'm really hoping my scale will give me a little better of a number on my weigh in day (Wed)... ah... who am I kidding, I'll be weighing tomorrow morning! I'll make sure the right lady is at the gym on wed. and get myself weighed and body fat measured then too. my last body fat meas. was in Oct, so i'll be curious to see what difference 5 months makes. I'll also do the body fat measurement on my home scale. I believe the day I started optifast, it said I was 47 or 48 % fat! I wish I could remember right now what the gym figured me out as in Oct. But I'll let y'all know.

Yeah, I don't even know if i've ever really used that word... it just seemed suiting to this guy.

Hi Mr. Yoda That avatar with the little white beard is too cute! Good luck at the consult, and hopefully we hear your date soon. Mandi

Cloe, that's definitely awesome! Andrew: very cool stuff too!
-
Who's doing your fills again, Andrew? Congrats anyways! You wouldn't have felt anything without the freezing either... tough it out next time :)

Just thought I'd post this for any of you TLBC-ers who may be Joffe patients: Apparently he has left the TLBC and won't be performing lapbanding anymore. (before anyone gets worried, this doesn't affect your aftercare in any way, other than you just not being able to see HIM anymore!) I read this on the canadianlapbanders board, and thought I'd share for those of you who don't go there. (I quickly browse the latest messages every few weeks, so I'm lucky I caught that post) It's too bad, from the sounds of it, he was great at what he did, and well liked. I'm sure he'll be missed around there, and by you guys. :cry
-
didn't even realize you posted this in "Introductions"... there's a Canadian area to Lapbandtalk... come over and read away, you'll hear all about both of the clinics I mentioned.
-
I'd say your best choices in TO are the TLBC and The Surgical Weightloss Center www.tlbc.ca and www.lapband.ca I think now they're both the same cost, $16,000.
-
how about you guys in Ontario have one for me, and send me pictures?
-
I can imagine... post in some other areas of the board, and do some searching for other people who've had it happen too. I would definitely be pissed also... what a bitch! You do all this to avoid something like that, and it happens anyways! Hey, well at least you're 86lbs lighter, right?! haha And thank you... it was very nice to make it to 100. I never truly thought I'd be successful either, but now I'm sold, and very happy with everything, and so worth the cost. I hope you keep posting!

Whoah, whoah, whoah... where do I find these recipes?!!!?? anyways, c'mon, you wanna know, and you've obviously got such a strong opinion and feelings of ulterior motives, CALL THEM! Ask, demand, whatever it takes, and find out for your self... then come back and tell us, please.
-
haha, well... really, nothings really changed from my little 100lb celebration, so 1 yr pics aren't gonna be anything special! Besides.... I don't dance
-
Wow, no, I haven't heard of that, but I'm sure it's NOT unheard of. What did your doctor say? Could it resolve with more weight loss? I'm so glad to see you! I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering what happened to you!! You've done SO good!!! Congrats!!!

I wonder if I could get a letter from Dr. Cobourn, then get it laminated and carry it with me everywhere!? So... right after work, I was trapped in the coat with the other "big loser" (weight) at work. He said "So Mandi, how much weight have you lost?" I said "No comment." He asks if it's 35lbs. I said "Since I got here? More than that (it's' like 50-60lbs!) and since I've been trying, WAY more." And he's like, "Oh yeah, that's cool... I've lost 93 so far." I said congrats and all that crap. But man does that bug me. Unlike him, I don't like to advertise at work! How could I possibly tell people (about the band) when I've got this dingus doing it purely with diet and exercise? Apparently earlier in the day he was trying to get Dan to feel his muscles!! Either way, I'll definitely be waiting more than a week to see how this plateau works out. Yesterday I weighed myself again... (yeah I know, the one who says DONT weigh yourself everyday HAS been) and I WAS down 0.6. I never never weigh on weekends, so we'll see where monday takes me.

I do... I have a bunch, in the "argons activites" thread there's some new ones... and probably a few pages before that there's some comparison pictures... they're there though!

maybe they're just considered 'reconstructive' rather than cosmetic? Perhaps the people that do the OHIP jobs are even better because they truly want sexy bods for all, not just the wealthy, and they're not just in it for money?! hmmm... No, I'm not totally serious.... I'm sure there are good and bad OHIP and private plastic surgeons! Just throwin' the idea out there
-
perhaps... at least I have a long enough wait to see what happens!

I'm thinking I might need another fill. I dropped back to my pre-defill weight VERY fast after my re-fill, and haven't budged since. I'm at 1.2cc right now, and going to get a 0.3cc fill to bring me back up to where I was before seems so crazy. 8 hours driving, and $100 for 0.3cc ?! But then again, I'd be too scared to go higher than that, cause I know how I was at 1.5cc and that was 'comfortable'. I'm sure I still had some ride-out time left with my good old 1.5cc's before I would have needed another fill... so I really am stuck going through all that for 1.5cc. UGG! It's just picking a time that works well with everything else, and corresponds to paydays! April 21st is looking like the closest next possible weekend that I could do it. Sucks to have to wait like 4 weeks to do it.... grrrr. It'll give me a bit of time to see how things go with this one though. But I'm thinking I'm gonna need to be back to my old fill level to continue with the results I was getting prior to the defill. Bah! Sorry for rambling.

20lbs ain't "still pretty good", it's DAMN good! You also "only" had 110lbs to lose... only 89 now! Good job!
-
Thanks Wheezy. We actually got the 20"-ers after seeing how big they were alone, and how HUGE the 24" would have been. These are more than ig enough, and I save $500 by getting the little bit smaller one. I loove Apple computers. I think they're just so easy to use. (plus very little worry of viruses, and I've never had one crash on me) After spending almost $3000 on a super PC a little more than a year ago, and it crapping out and being totally unfixable by the technicians who could NOT figure out what was wrong with it... I'm done with PC's. I had my 2nd last Mac for 3 years and never had one problem ... until I sold it and got the PC. I also just think they're the nicest lookin' little things! I've got one cord coming out of it... the power cord! Wireless mouse and key board.... ah...heaven. Bandiva: I'm happy you feel that way! CLOE: Glad your daughters home too! Did you say, did she broke up with the boyfriend, or not?

Like everyone else said, the only chance of getting it covered is if it's causing problems, like Yoda said, with things like rashes. There's a difference between a tummy tuck/abdominoplasty and a panniculectomy, and I think most government funded ones are panniculectomies... the difference is that with the tummy tuck they remove skin, fat AND tighten the muscles, but the panniculectomy only removes the skin. The tight muscles, (I imagine) make things look alot better, and I guess that's why they wouldn't pay for a tummy tuck, per se.. cause that would be considered cosmetic. Prices are gonna vary all over.... look up some clinics and contact and see if they could give you a rough quote to how much they'd expect it to cost.
-
I found this in a thread CLOE posted a long time ago...asking about Advil, here's a reply that I found that sounded good. I'll check Dr. Cobourns message board specifically and see if anyone's asked, and/or what his clinic says about the matter. (after work... gotta go!)

that's weird that she seemed to know nothing about the no NSAIDS thing... I have purposely stayed away from asprin and ibuprofen for that reason. Lived with headaches because those were the only things available to me at that time. I'm sure they're fine once in a while (and of course if you're taking baby asprin or whatever for your heart, or short term prescriptions), but I have always been under the impression of: NO NSAIDS! I'm sure my post-surgery papers said that too. Dr. C and M should get the story straight with their nurses if thats the case... so patients aren't hearing contradictions.
-
Congrats, and good luck.... please keep us Canadians updated with how you're doing!

Can't wait to hear how it all goes, and I"m sure we're all glad we could help ya out :welldoneclap: Good luck!
