Speaking of too skinny, anyone know who this beaut. is? I got forwarded a bunch of pictures, with the caption "Ever wonder what implants will look like when you're 80?" Yikes!
-
Jurema.... me too! It's the craziest feeling, LETTING someone pick you up! My boyfriend can, and does now, but I want him to do it without any trouble! And the thigh rubbing thing... can't wait for that! I'm happy to say I haven't run down the thighs in any pants SINCE I've been banded. I would put Iron on Patches on the insides of my jeans when they were getting a little too thin! Man oh man... THOSE chafed!
-
Oh man, I'm so jealous.... no loss in 2 weeks?! Try 2 months! GAH! Sorry.... just frustrating.
-
Just startin' this for you, cause you're gonna have a lot to say... I can tell! Hope you're doing well, and let us know when you're home and feelin' up to it  Mandi

Hey guys, Mookie finally emailed me a little while ago. I think she's a little discouraged. I'm not gonna tell her story, I'll let her do that... hopefully when she gets her computer back up and running, and hopefully soon. (Yasmina... diet advice? Hmm... I'm not good for that. I feel bad for those who've struggled alot with this, cause I've always had whatever I wanted (for the most part, chosing the healthier option usually, but not if I REALLY wanted the other, and providing I could even eat it)... but oviously just alot less. I wouldn't bother getting a big fat burger anymore, cause it would just be a huge waste of money for a couple bites. Maybe my cheapness, and distaste for how most foods end up once thoroughly chewed turn out, has helped me all this time.) Now, that said... I'm having problems now. I should probably smarten up and hanker down with a smart diet. :|

(thank you Victoria! I think that's the one I'll go with )

Question for those who had surgery with TSWLC
argon replied to LeslieLee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I stayed at the Days Inn - Mississauga. Got a really good price... $80-something a night, 2 beds.... nice enough room. Unfortunetly (for the other person) there was no restaurant in the hotel, but lots of choices nearby and within walking distance. Also, no elevator! -
Chickie, I don't suppose you have pictures of your arms anywhere around here? I'm curious to how your arms have fared with all your loss. You know I mean the underside of the arms, not the rest... that's the part that's concerning me. Mandi

Thanks guys! I looked around and there is a seamstress nearby, so I think I will bring it to her and get that belt removed. (it IS attached at the back!) It's really awkward... way too floppy and long if just tied at the back, can't go around more than once... ugg. The brown (polka dot one), I will keep in mind the suggestions... killer-cleavage producing bra, coming up! I'm more set on doing the black and white one. I'll get the seamstress lady to put a little button on it and show you guys how that looks. Maybe I could even colour in the dots on those shoes and make 'em solid black. What's with the new lapbandtalk!? I do NOT think I like it... but we'll see.
-
Hey guys, thanks. Problem is: see the pics where the belt is done up? That's how it hangs! all loose like that, definitely no way to make it cover all of that black band... it's almost like a really long scarf hanging outta the back of the dress! And doing up the belt any tighter, would just be too tight, ya know? The shoes... actually I got them for with the black and white one. The dot are black and white (would be nice if I could find ones that matched the other one though). I thought they'd go with the dress better... whataya think, black and white tiny polka dots with that 1st dress?
-
Ok Oldtimers, and really any of you Canadian ladies (and guys!?).... I need fashion/clothing help. Go to the last page of my (Argon's Activities) thread, pleeeeeaaase?!
-
Hey guys, I need help!!!! I didn't buy much in the states, but what I did buy at the spur of the moment was TWO dresses. Who cares? Well... I have never in my life (since I was maybe 8) worn a dress, except ONCE for my prom. I tried 2 on, liked one more than the other, and Dan liked the other more than the one I liked, so I bought both. They were both SUPER on sale so I said what the hey/hay. It's not often I come across dresses I'd even consider that have long-ish sleeves! I wasn't even thinking at the time, but NEXT weekend, my work is having a grand opening party... and I could probably wear one to it! I have NOTHING to wear otherwise. Here are pictures. #1 is the one I like best. Black and white with a red errrr.... belt? It wasn't done up, so I have no idea how it's supposed to go! It looks stupid no matter what I do! Anyone know how it's supposed to go? I just ordered 2 'body shapers' from sears to try out, cause I need some mega stomach sucking power (as shown in in a couple o' these), and a smooth back-fat-roll-less look would be awesome. The 2nd is Dan's fav. Brown with beige and pink dots. I think it's too plain and "old lady". (sorry CLOE!) :heh: Opinions, please! I need help. I don't like how the back of the black one looks on me... I think it makes my back look even more wide?! I couuld also leave my hair down, that would distract from my back. I dunno... it's very stressful. I think people will be really shocked to see me like this.... but I don't want to look stupid. Tell me what to do! You're my pals... I only really have Dan to go by for opinions, and he loves everything (oh yeah, the one is supposed to have a button to do it up, but it was missing (extra 10% off!) and I didn't like how it would look done up anyways) may 2007 band list.doc

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
argon replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
errr... you know what that means.... whips and leather! -
errrmmmm... So guess what! I was supposed to be going to this 'all girls' party at work tomorrow night. Renting a cabin, all the work girls going, having a BBQ then having drinks, sleeping over, and going home the next morning.... wasn't really looking forward to it. Then today, we got invited to join another couple that's going down to Maine this weekend! Woooo! I get to shop, and in the states! I don't know anything about Bangor, but I found the website for the mall we'll go to, and it's got a Victoria's Secret, JC Penney, Macy's, Gap, American Eagle and others in it... sounds pretty good to me! I haven't been in the US in probably 16 years! Anyways, that's my excitement! I hope I can find some cool stuff!
-
haha, Doddie... that's great! (what you said to the Dr.) Was anyone else ever nervous while watching the little snippets on the news about obesity, when they show the fat people walking around malls and on the street, from the head down?! AHHHH! Can you imagine recognizing yourself on one of those!! :faint:

Welcome back, Lila! And Wheezy... today it was 12 here, and tomorrow we're also supposed to get 10cms!!!
-
Nice, Angel ! You're awesome. Ok, are there really collapsable Ziploc containers, or did you mean disposable? I really should do that... but I'd be worried I'd get 'busted' trying to sneak food into it! I shouldn't care, and just set it on the table... but I'm weird. *I* went to Boston pizza the other day, super-craving nachos, but knowing I couldn't come close to eating them all, so asked if they had a smaller size, or could do a smaller size .... got a definite NO. Jerks. I ordered the full size anyways, and ya know what... I almost finished it. This thing is nuts. I'm always scared ordering food, cause I never can tell when it's gonna be 'one of those days'. Hey... I was down 1 lb yesterday! Finally... as you might remember, I've been stuck in the 179's for freakin' months!

(wow... I said all these "wants" almost exactly a year ago!!)
-
- I bought pajama shorts, and worn them comfortably around the house... not in public yet, but I also have some capri pants in my closet itchin' to come out for a spin someday soon! - I don't worry about sitting in plastic chairs anymore (well, maybe for a fleeting moment). I even sit cross legged in my chair at work sometimes! - I definitely don't sweat as much under normal circumstances. Summer will truly put this one to the test though! - I do that! Woo! - ok, yeah... easier. But I still despise it, and making it easier doesn't make it happen any more often! Poor Dan! - holy moley! I'm there and passed! I'm waitin' for the single digits, baby! - well... that back-fat is pesky. Definitely shunken considerably! I don't worry about shirts getting stuck in it, but that tell-tale crease (see my rear view current pic!) bugs me. If I had a roll-less back, I think I could be perfectly happy with everything else! - ehhh... cuter underwear, but not sexy. Actually.. maybe worse. Dan does not enjoy the super-sucker control tops! - haven't really tested this one. - heh... No! That'll be a 'AT GOAL" thing! - kinda like the back-fat.... diminished, but not gone! - I see 'em..... not as great as they will be soon though. Oh... you WILL see pictures! - nah, I'm ok now. - they're all still too expensive! But it is nice to find my size in racks that are on sale. -I'm starting to see it. - YEAH! Dudes, you should have seen the guy hitting on me last weekend... ahhh... Dan was nervous. - I'll wait for goal for this one, but it would defintely fit... I'm sure. - I am kinda.... but if we have one, it'll be next year... I hope that's enough time! - thinkin' about it - not so scared anymore, at all. I sometimes hold 'em up when we're putting away laundry and giggle while saying "I wear these!" - DONE! All the time... I even let him do the 'scoop' thing a couple times. (you know, like you carry the bride over the threshold) - err... I can't believe the things I say! Ummm.. better. :paranoid
-
Very nice... sounds like most of our wishes. Reminded me of this post http://www.lapbandtalk.com/think-positive-list-t17562.html that the lovely CLOE started here a WHILE back! I think we need to strike it back up!
-
Welcome Deanna, and congrats on your upcoming date! And you are right, we ARE awesome Mandi

how bout a small portion of nuts? Beef Jerky is not a problem for me, so I'd keep some of that around. Granola bars are good. I always mean to, and I should take my own advice and put some of these things in my own glove compartment! It's just going to depend on what foods work for you, and providing they're healthy enough choices... whatever you want should go!

Oh yes... here is Neenagh's thread! Where the heck is she?!

I believe Kim is frequenting the canadianlapbanders Yahoo group now... and Neenagh!!! How did I miss her thread?! I will dig it up!
