    port in the bikini area

Yeah.... mine is about the same as Kat's, Eileen. I'm a Dr. Cobourn patient, and he says thats where he puts all of his. I'd ask about getting it there. Bikini area? Uggg... I wouldn't want that. :faint: sorry!
  2. Looks awesome, sugarplum!! Congrats! But I have one question: why the vertical incision? I'm intrigued.

    Lower Body Lift Fun!

wowee.... you deserve a whole new thread for this post, "nume130". I would suggest hitting the "New Thread" button, cause I think you'll be getting an earful!

    Saskatchewan?

Hey Buffie! That is great that you're out of the 200's! Feels great, eh?! I am doing pretty good also. Was a tad too tight up until last weekend, so I got a 0.2cc defill, and I'm feeling fabulous now. I'm happy to report that only the first night after the defill did I have any issues while sleeping, but since then, it's been totally fine! You gonna become a regular here again??

Hey Buffie! Glad to see you're doing well and so chipper!! And yeah, she meant the port. Your band is anchored, and your port SHOULD be. I don't know, is it considered anchoring, or just stitching into place? Didn't you say, Doddie, that he's experimented with a new way of attaching the ports, and its been proving to be a problem?

    Argon's Activities

Awww... Wheezy, I know I'm lucky. I know, I know! And I'm sorry. I know it's all frivolous. I am definitely grateful for what I've got.. Thank you for the kind words, they mean alot. And yeah, no blisters or anything. It's definitely just the outside edge of the foot. I ran with my old cheap shoes today, and they did not do the same thing. I think I'll go back to the gym on friday and try the new ones out once more on the treadmill. There's a foot something or other near work. I'll stop by there and see what they do, or can recommend. I do have health coverage through work, and I think there's something there that covers that kind of stuff. I'll check it out definitely. Thank you again, all of you.

    Argon's Activities

I was getting changed and decided to have a look at the back situation. I've said for a while, if I was the weight I am right now, but backfat free, I could stop and be totally happy. I could show my front to Dan (at least from the belly button up) relatively comfortably, but if I have to turn around, and he were to see my bare back.... uh uh. I know people will say, "oh geez, gimme a break", but we're all gonna have issues, not matter what our weights, and I'm sure you all do/will too. So that said. My back. I took a pic 'regular', then 'held things up', showing what it could look like... yeah, I'd like that: :phanvan Sometimes I grab all my skin at the front and pull up, ... no pics of that though! LOL It's pretty surprising what it does to my butt and thighs. That definitely makes me want some plastics!

(but... maybe she's getting the bypass, and that would be covered if she were from ON and going to another province)

    Saskatchewan?

Doddie, are you saying this woman is going to Alberta, and is from ON, and is getting banded there?

What surgeon are you going with, Terranne? Who are you going to be seeing for fills? Good luck, it's coming up soon!

First Post - A Sincere Plea

Ross: 1) I get the gurgly/burp thing too. It is embarassing when around other people, but only ever really noticable when it's a reeeeally quiet meal and no one's talking! I don't get it every time, so... all I can say, is if it doesn't stop, it'll at least be less frequent, and you'll learn to live with it! :phanvan: 2) what I generally understand is that if you're getting heartburn, you're probably too tight. (I look back and see that you're only about 2 weeks out!) Don't let your doctor brush this question off. So, the Prevacid is NOT helping your heartburn like it used to? Or what? 3) So, yeah, you don't want to be vomitting, as I'm sure you know. I didn't think it would be able to happen either, but, a few months ago, I got sick, nauseous, and ended up throwing up everything I tried to get down. Believe me, I was able. I don't know how, but it happened. My stomach must have had to do some crazy manuevers to get that stuff up. It ended up irritating me to the point of not being able to eat, and barely drink, and getting a complete defill. Do yourself a favour and get some Gravol suppositories or prescription anti-nauseant from your doctor.

    Argon's Activities

Yeah I did have to pay... sucks, but, hey.... I'll survive. I buy $150 runners! I certainly have money to burn! :faint: Interesting about the Vaseline.. I'd think it would make everything feel oh so slippery while running, wouldn't it? Doing that would probably for sure soften up my rough feet! I'm gonna give my shoes a little bit more of a chance. I'm not a runner, I'm not athletic at all. I'm a wimp... I hate exercise. I haven't seriously run, or considered it in probably 15 years. Maybe my feet are just too 'weak'? Good news, kind of. My work, the company WE are working for is behind, so needs to not give us any work for a week. That means we all (my 'crew') have nothing to do for a week. I thought "hey, why not take it off", asked, and was told, "yeah cool, then we don't have to find something else for you to do!") So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take 3 paid days off, and 2 unpaid, just so I don't totally screw myself on that next paycheck. It'll be nice to have a bit of a break. Even though I'm already planning on going home for a week in July/Aug. This'll be just me, all myself... Dan'll have to work still. That's in about a week and a half, SOOoooo, if those shoes are still giving me a hard time, I will bring them back then. I think that'll give me a chance to give them a good honest try. (even though unfortunetly I can't try them outside.) But if they hurt my feet on a treadmill, I imagine outside could be even worse!

    Stomach Virus

I just got some Gravol suppositories to save myself from another defill.... I'm sure a prescription would be alot better, but I don't have a doctor, and try to save my 4 hour wait at the clinic for other matters!

    What to bring to hotel

I brought my magic bullet, cause there was no optifast drinkin' without it being slushified with a ton of ice! I really only had some substance-less clear soup, and apple juice in the couple days after surgery.
  20. argon

    what to wear???

All I brought was some comfy pajamas, and as my 'leaving the clinic' outfit, some huge sweatpants, tank top, and a zip up hoody. You'll be fine! Mandi

    Argon's Activities

Defill done! Got that little tiny 0.2cc out, and I hope it works. The 1st night, it didn't.... last night, it did. I'm hoping tonight is the same. I don't feel like I can eat more, so that's good. I went and got my shoes at the Running Room. Waaaay too expensive, but I hope that'll be a kick in the @ss to use 'em! I have worn em around the house quite a bit, BUT today I tried them on the treadmill, and my feet hurt. It was the outside SIDEs of both feet. You running experts, what does that sound like? They aren't tight, they really feel like they fit, but I don't know what's causing that pain!? I don't run normally, so maybe it's just something that'll eventually stop and is normal to non-runners? (but the last time I ran with my cheap shoes at the gym, I don't remember a pain like that). I hate to return them and have to try all over with another pair (and especially cause I am not sure how soon I can get back to Moncton). What do you think?
  22. Hehe, Susan, there's about a million posts there with fragments of that damn sentence you were trying to get out!!! :drum: I saw your post about the psychiatrist being at the bash and it made me want to ask everyone: How was it?! Who went!? Did you get pictures?

    Saskatchewan?

I am from SK, but I moved to NB last year. Had I stayed in SK, I would have just gone to Calgary for fills. Dr. Cobourn's working on getting fill Dr.'s in every province though. I looked into Mexico, until I realized I needed family help to fund it, and they didn't want to support/encourage me to go out of country. No dissin' any of you guys that went out of country, but I feel confident and secure having mine done in Canada, and even though I am not close to my surgeon, I'm only ever a few hour flight away, if I ever need to go back. If you choose to go to Mexico, you make SURE you have someone here to do your fills, cause saving all the money in the world ain't gonna help you when you can't find anyone to do your fills. You can PM me if you like!

(haha, I just assumed that most of us don't know or have Australians to be angry with, so we take it out on the next closest band-covered area = Alberta! sorry for the confusion )
