Yeah, it's been a year and a couple months so far. I don't even think all of my strips stayed on til the end of the week. If any were left, they fell off in the shower. If yours last that long, get them nice and wet in the shower, and I'm sure they'll come off easily! If it seems to not be coming off easily, I'd leave them til they do fall off! (which i'm sure won't happen, but thats what I'd personally have done!)

A couple of mine fell off 2 days later. I had them replaced when I went back to the clinic for the 'ok to fly home' check... then more fell off the next day. I wasn't too worried about the smaller incisions, but I was a little uncomfortable having my port incision so exposed (lets say there were 8 steristrips on my port incision, and I lost 3 of them) so I got some paper tape and taped some gauze over it, and replaced it every day for a few days. (bandaids irritate my belly SO bad) I just didn't like that little stitch that was hanging out, and wanted it covered up! Have you had a shower yet? That could wash away all that dried blood. (I believe they say not to let the Water hit the wounds, just run down over them).

When does weight loss start?
argon replied to deb24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could start immediately after surgery... or it might not. You really should give yourself the first 6 weeks as a healing period, and not worry about weightloss during that time. If you do lose, consider it a bonus. Also, until you get your first fill, you might also not lose very well, or at all. Good luck. Take it easy, and don't worry... it'll happen, don't rush it :myscared: -
Yes, baby asprin is an NSAID. If your band doctor says no NSAIDS, and your regular Dr. wants you taking them, you should check with your band doctor. :myscared:

I think it's pretty common practice nowadays. I know mine was done like that.

Andrea, I also brought my magic bullet. I had the junior strength liquid tylenol, chewable Gas-X, and chewable Gravol. I wouldn't even worry about the tylenol. They'll give you a prescription painkiller to take with you. It seems that all Dr. Cobourn patients get liquid codeine. You are too funny, packing 2 months ahead of time! hehe Don't worry, I was almost as bad!

I think I did the exact same thing as you... maybe a month after surgery, and had a 'pulled' muscle feeling in my side for almost a week. I was a little freaked, but my surgeon assured me it would be fine. It went away, and 14 months later, my port is fine :myscared: You should reassure yourself though, and put a quick call into your surgeons office.

Did it work? Did you get the money you wanted? -
Nume - check this thread out. I haven't read through it, but your question seems to be the topic of it! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f12/breasts-women-only-16228/

Curious... what is reason for supervised diet before banding?
argon replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That you truly can't lose the weight on your own, and DO need surgery? I'm sure they also count on alot of people saying 'screw that, i'm not waiting that long' and giving up on going the insurance route. -
I've started running. I bought shoes at the Running Room last weekend. I pretend I never spent a thing on them, because I put them on my Visa, and... I'll feel the pain later! $160 ... Yowsers. :kiss Here's so far: Mar 28 - went to gym, tried new shoes out on treadmill. Did 1 minute running, 5 minutes walking, for about half an hour. Sides of feet hurt quite bad afterwards. Mar 30 - am - went for 1/5 run in OLD gym shoes. Feet did not hurt afterward. June 2 - pm - Dan and I went to the track, and did the RIGHT running, which is supposed to be 1 minute running, then 90 secs. walking, for a total of 20 minutes. I definitely liked my old 1/5 way better! Too bad it was wrong. This was hard. I hope it gets easier, cause I AM sticking with it. I wore my new shoes, hoping running on the track wouldn't cause any visable wear to the shoes and I could return them if need be. My feet didn't hurt afterward though, so maybe I was right, and I just needed some breaking in (my feet and my shoes). Just noting for myself: after my last run, my shins really hurt. I could definitely feel that I did some working out to them. I don't think I've ever felt pain/soreness there before. It's almost gone now,and I don't feel any MORE sore right now, than I did before the run. I kinda feel good.

You could probably just ask this in your other thread about the bikini port, to avoid confusion! -

Curious... what is reason for supervised diet before banding?
argon replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
uhh... she specified that she was not talking about the 'liquid pre-op diet' for 10 days that she did, which is obviously the liver shrinking thing. She says "I didn't have to do it." (but did do a 10 day liquid diet pre-op), meaning, she's not talking about that. So yeah, you can't say "It's not an insurance thing." BAM! Thanks. -

argon replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Isn't it an insurance thing? They want you to prove that you can't lose weight with diet alone, so they order a Dr. supervised diet. (I say this, going totally by what I have gathered here from you guys, cause I am Canadian, and there ain't no insurance companies covering the band, supervised diet or not*) *excluding Quebec? hehe -

"No" also.

Congrats, Andree! Dr. Cobourn, right? The 2 months will fly by in no time!

Nah, don't feel bad!! You SHOULD talk about it, but you'll want 'your own' area to keep it all separate. Really, I didn't mean anything mean by that. I definitely think it needs talking about
