I haven't read this entire thread, and I normally stay away from the rants and raves, unless I see something that catches my interest, but I'm feeling feisty, and need somewhere to just say - IT'S LOSE not LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!! You don't want to LOOSE weight! AHHHHHHH! Sorry. I'm done.

is it possible to loose 30 pounds in 5 weeks
argon replied to vixie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why would your nutritionalist want you to lose 30lbs in 5 weeks? Is it a pre-op diet? Guess it depends on how you're doing it. I was on Optifast for just 2 weeks before surgery, and lost 15lbs. I was 280lbs. Heavier people usually have better initial results, so I'm sure it's POSSIBLE. I think 3 Optifasts plus the cup of veggies I was allowed a day, added up to about 900 calories. It wouldn't be fun, and I would not envy anyone who had to do it for THAT long. Ugg! -
Which 'model' do you have, Doddie? I'd have to have something VERY light and barely noticable to me, to wear ALL the time. Do you shower with it, and everything?
-
Ok, I'm seriously considering it. Maybe I'll ask for one for Christmas! I am guessing MedicAlert is better to have (for 'privacy's sake) than something with "Lapband" or whatever on it... with how it can contain all your medical history, contacts, etc. But then, since I'm cheap/broke, I could just get one now that DOES have the 'no blind intubation' and 'adjustable gastric band' on the back, or something, and hope no one sees. Wish MedicAlert didn't require a yearly subscription too. :phanvan Hmm... dilemas.

Whatev, it's your ass... I was just stating that instead of using something to 'ease' it, you should do something that might prevent it. Good luck to ya.

I'm pretty sure it's gotta be nail polish remover WITH acetone, not the gentle stuff that is 'without'.

My tip: Benefibre! Better yet, Fibresure. Benefibre is just as good, but Fibresure has a waaay finer texture, and I think you don't have to use as much. (smaller 'doses') If it hurts, perhaps, you're not getting enough, and 'straining'. Tucks are for hemmorhoids, and if you keep 'hurting' yourself, you're going to end up with 'em!

I couldn't have cared less about the scars. I guess if you're among the lucky who've managed to gain all this weight, stretch-mark free, then yeah, having a few scars riddle your belly might be a concern. But me, my entire body is so covered with stretch marks, the scars just add a little bit of contrast (horizontal against my vertical stretch marks!). I'm not gonna be showing off my stomach, no matter how skinny I get, or how much flesh I remove, they can't get it all, and I'll always have those white glimmery streaks all over. :phanvan

Oh Susan, soon you'll no longer be an insulin dependant diabetic, and you'll have to order a new one! I've considered it too, but I also hate the idea of having to wear one. I don't wear bracelets and I don't wear necklaces... nevermind a 'medicalert' one! I thought about just getting a "I have the lapband' tattooed on my stomach, but if they're intubating me, there's no guarantee they've got my shirt off to see it! Isn't it a rule that they check your wallet for any kind of info if you get in an accident? I have my 'lapband' card, so.... errr... maybe that'll do. But then.. if I get mugged and run over... no card to show. Oh, I just don't know.

I've done that too. Really only works at home. You're not gonna take a swig of your drink, swish it around, and spit it out at a restaurant! It's not a challenge for me to not drink with meals anymore. Actually, some times I do, sometimes I don't. Sometimes taking a sip when things aren't quite feeling 'right' makes it even worse, and requires a trip to the bathroom to avoid a disaster, and some times it helps it go down. So yeah, I'm no help! Don't listen to me; don't drink while eating or too soon after! :heh:

Since I'm a nerd and needed to take time writing the PM, I composed the email in gmail before copying and pasting it into LBT, so I still have the 'draft'. I'll just resend it! Thanks, I thought maybe you were just a jerk! hehe, just kidding!!
-
I PM-ed you too! Quite a while ago, about the BodyBugg. ?
-
Beware if you're prone to hangover pukiness! I'd make sure you have some Gravol SUPPOSITORIES around for the day after, just in case!

Agreed, just settle for shaking it by hand that day. Pack it in your checked luggage.

JulieNYC's Extended Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift
argon replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
ooooh yes, I can't believe I missed those pictures. I did actually TRY to search before I asked! It looks really good. I take it your port scar used to be ABOVE your belly button? How much higher was it? What's your dad's take on getting TT's done before getting to your goal weight? Obviously, he thinks it's fine, since he did do it. But does he feel that another 30lb loss won't make a substantial enough difference in.. I dunno, "skin looseness"? How is it better for your butt/thighs to be done at goal? And is this thighplasty going to be able to lift your inner thighs too? Just thought of something, if when it comes time to do your thighs, the weightloss between now and then has made a difference and you want your stomach tightened up, he could just do it then, right? hehe, sorry for all the questions! -
Congrats Wheezy, this IS the fill that's gonna do it !!!!!

Awww... that's awesome! I'm glad you're renewed! Maybe we'll see a ticker some day soon? What did he have to say about that fool in Ottawa doing (trying) fills?

JulieNYC's Extended Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift
argon replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks for the clarification, Julie I understand now. I don't suppose you have pictures of how the actual TT incision is looking? -
Woo! Finally after weeks and weeks at the same, I was down a pound(ish) today! Let's hope this is the beginning of some steady ticker movement! And I still am running. I'm taking the couch potato to 5k a little slower than they suggest, but it's ok. I'm now at running for a whopping 90 seconds, then walking for 2 minutes!

JulieNYC's Extended Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift
argon replied to JulieNYC's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
So, isn't that essentially a lower body lift, but you've already got the tummy tuck part done? Why not have had them done at the same time? Maybe I'm confused. :phanvan You look great, by the way. I'm glad you're feeling good too! -
I pretty much stay away from pop, just because I can't drink it very fast and it's not usually worth it after waiting for the fizz to die down. I did, however have a huge craving for rootbeer the other day, so I bought a bottle, and drank it over a few days. It actually got flat really quick, so that was good. Oddly enough, I can drink beer easier than pop.

Doddie, who have you contacted about doing fills there in the Vancouver area? I'd for sure go back to TO for the flipped port fix, but what about even just making day trips to Calgary? You can get flights for $100 each way. (I did it once last year, to TO in the am, got a fill and home that night)
