Hey! Sorry I was out of town then just forgot to post about my slip. I'm gonna need to get the revision surgery also I'm not looking forward to it and have been putting it off first because my mom lost her job so I lost my insurance. Now I'm on COBRA however by then I was in summer school and it was too late to drop the class without loosing 200 dollars. But I can keep liquids down and keep food down so my doctor said it was okay. I'm going to call to schedule my surgery next week for in between summer school and the fall semester. JRFAN88: I'm sorry you need revision surgery I understand what your going through.

Dr. Atkinson did mine also I had surgery May 20, 08. I'm sure you'll be fine in April I was over filled my appointment was on a Friday so that whole weekend I was throwing up and coughing all night due to reflux but I could keep food down I had fluid out the following Monday. I'm assuming that's when it started to slip cause three weeks later is when my reflux started again and still hasn't ended. So my suggestion is don't get filled on a Friday cause you have to wait all weekend but I'm sure you're band will be fine. Just follow the rules and listen to your body.

The doctor had me do an Upper GI. I went and had it last Thursday the 18th and took my films to the doctors office right after. Yesterday I went in for fluid out (in hopes my reflux would stop) and the doctor looked at my films and saw that my band had slipped.

I found out this morning my band had a minor slip. I can keep food and liquids down with no problem my only problem is nighttime reflux which involves coughing but I cough so hard that I end up throwing up. My symptoms have gotten better it use to be every half hour i would be up coughing and now its not as frequent. My doctor has taken out all my fluid and is having me go on liquids in hopes that the band will slip back into place. Has anyone experienced this and what are the chances of my band slipping back into place?

My surgery was May 20th 2008. And I ate 3/4 (give or take) of a 9x9 pan of popcorn cake (rice krispy treats made with popcorn instead of rice krispys). That was the only meal I over ate on I had my 4oz for breakfast (pre-throwing up) then the popcorn cake (didn't eat lunch after that) finally my 4oz for dinner.

This morning I got my breakfast stuck really badly and I ended up throwing up a few times. A while later I made a dish for my work party Friday but since I burnt it I decided to make another. I ended up eating alot of the first one however I never felt full. When it came time for dinner I had worried myself about eating so much of the snack that I purposly ate the wrong way (big bites, fast, etc.) just so I could get something stuck to calm my nerves. I didn't get stuck but I did feel full. So now I am wondering if something happened to my band when I threw up this morning or if I'm just being paranoid. I will call the doctor tomorrow but I get anxiety attacks so I just want some insight to calm my nerves till I can call my doctors office. Any insight will be great!! Thanks

I've also had problems sleeping I use to take ambien last summer and since the band my doctor has put me back on it. However last summer I would take it for like two or three nights and be back on a sleep schedule but so far that hasn't happened yet. I've already taken 10+ since I got the perscription in mid June and last summer I would have 10 for four months. As for dreams I've always has weird ones but I remember them more often than I use to. I hope this helps and I happy to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this.

When I was on clear liquids I bought chicken broth and I had really good salsa from a mexican market (not tostitos salsa or other brands). I added a bunch of the salsa to the chicken broth while on the stove and let them simmer together for a while. Then after I would strain the broth and it was like make shift tortilla soup. The first time I made this was a total accident then a few times after when I would try to make it; it would turn out horrible one of those times I had run out the the salsa I had been using and used tostitos (which is why I highly reccomend not using that brand ). So basically for me it was alwys hit or miss. I hope this helps and good luck.

My first one was today and my surgery was 5 weeks ago yesterday May 20th. But I'm sure it depends on the doctor.

I have blue cross federal and I'm from Las Vegas so I dunno if its gonna be the same; but my approval was quick and easy. And it was amazing my out of pocket was less than $1000. I hope this and helps and I hope Blue Cross Federal is as good to you as it was for me. Good luck with everything!!! -
I was Banded 5-20 and my doctor said just walking (for exercise) for the first two weeks. I got the wii fit on Tuesday and have been looking at it like crazy cause I want to play sooo bad. Do the people that have it think it will be okay to do or should I just suck it up wait the last four days?
